- Super Mario 64 Mario in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - My 2 childhood favorite games into 1. And I also like to see a similar mod that put Banjo-Kazooie (Maybe Banjo-Tooie as well) in the game.
I know I BLJ'd (Backwards Long Jump) a lot in this video, It's really fun when you pull it off just to see how fast Mario can go - Kind of like the Buffered Ledge Grab in GTA 5. (Original versions only & Next-Gen versions patched)

I am actually surprised it's not just a skin mod, but he actually plays like the Mario from SM64.
it uses the decompiled version of Mario 64. so it isn't just a impressive mod. but also Mario 64 running while running gta. so Mario plays exactly the same as in Mario 64 because it is Mario 64:)

Not just The fact they got it playing like Mario 64 but they actually got the speed run glitch working was an great touch
That's because it's running actual Mario 64 code, this mod isn't merely mimicking Mario 64 in GTA, it's full on ported the actual Mario 64 Mario into the game. So everything about how Mario controls in vanilla Mario 64 also applies here, including BLJs.

This mod is just impressive.
It’s not a skin for CJ, it’s straight up Mario ripped straight from Mario 64. Everything from his movements and all of that is here!
It actually utilizes a ROM of Super Mario 64 (US version) for the mod to work.
Something among the line of a project, which the mod make use of, would allow Mario to drop in to existing game engines with minimal efforts, this even extends to modern games, for example; somebody made a mod for Rocket League, in which allows you to play as Mario, even play a match as him with bots (tho they are still the same in the base game, they're not Marios).
I know this is a tiny little detail, but I love how the sound effects for Mario's running animation still change when you go onto different surfaces.

Super Mario 64 2's looking good. Though this is admittedly a fairly big shift in direction I wasn't expecting compared to the first game, but at least the core movement gameplay is the same.

Amazing... Imagine a game that runs two different game engines in the same level. I feel like this is evidence that we're getting closer to that kind of mastery.
That's basically what's happening, it runs an instance of m64 in gta SA and the two games talk to each other about Mario's actions and positions or at least that's it in a big nutshell

I always came up with the idea of a mod for GTA San Andreas that replaces all the characters and NPCs in characters from the Super Mario Bros. franchise.
Something similar with "Goldeneye 007 but with Mario Characters"

At first I thought it was an invisible CJ mod while you put Mario 64 there in a video editor, but it's actually a mod or rather a voodoo magic of seeing the same entity called Super Mario 64 in other video games as mods.
I hope to see a Yoshi's Story version of GTA San Andreas. Perhaps the Shy Guys as Ballas and Baby Bowser and Kamek as Tenpenny and Pulaski.
