Love how these indie kids dug Gene Clarke and it’s a beautiful performance. Daniel does a very nice job but doesn’t quite have the pain and sorrow of Gene but very few do and who would want that. Great job and RIP Gene
I looked it up, 1991. 😢 this is the first I have heard his music. I feel a loss, I read he had a troubled life. He is at peace. Now I'm going to listen to everything he made.

Never had or heard this version before or any where else!!! Bless u totally killer version peace b with Gene miss him so very much at 71 now still into his great voice music peace out lol 👍🇺🇸❤️💯🔥🙏💋☮️
thanks for that suggestion. Loved the Soulsavers version; but no one can touch Gene's original. Wonderful that these folk are taking his music out to new fans.
truerosie Thats the way you should see it i guess. And everybody has a different taste, thats a good thing. Enjoy your day. Greets from the Netherlands.
"we all have soul" is the lyric. this singer sounds like he is singing, "we all have souls" and that is grammatically incorrect and really doesn't make sense. the singer also sounds like he is singing some other words, when he sings the line, "we all need a fix, at a time like this", though i can't make out what it is he is actually saying. other than that it's a good rendition musically and accurately reproduced, though lacking in power. and this singer, who i have never heard of, just barely has the talent and the vocal range to pull this song off. it's a difficult song to sing and this singer just can't even hold a candle to Gene Clark in terms of his singing chops. if you have never heard the original recording, you owe it to yourself to seek out the album because the whole thing is very moving and there is an overall context that is lost by just hearing it in the form of cover tunes. not to mention all the rest of the musicians who worked on the album were among the finest in the business, not that these people are bad musicians but they are really just painting by numbers if you can understand that. and the recording itself of the album, set standards for studio recordings of music to this day, in fact. trust me when i say that if you find this performance moving, you will be on your knees in tears at the sound of the original recording, sung by the man who wrote the words, Gene Clark, because there is "No Other".
Gene Clarke is the most under appreciated artist of all time. This is amazing.

My soul felt better when finally found someone in the crowd singing the lyrics. You are great girl in the front
It's almost unsettling to see Daniel preforming without a guitar...I've never seen him even get close to grabbing the mic before.
I can't believe it's been 30 years since Gene Clark passed away. His music is still so good and real.

There is a live version with Mark Lanegan that is absolutely killer. Better than the studio version.

the tone off the lead guitar is amazing, what guitar is that?
DonalCr looks like a semi hollow gibson... maybe 335?
Also he is using a vintage silvertone amp and some sort of overdrive pedal
If you wanna be hit into your soul........ listen this......
Singer should've played the guitar it is how voice reach the best level.

Singing is so uninspired that it's hard to get past the first verse.
