First time seeing this today, also watched a video from just 7 months ago- that “ wonderful” family who was renting the house trashed it. Good thing Alex, and Melissa have great, loyal friends who helped put the house back together again. But as usual Alex didn’t dwell on the negative, and acted like the classy man that he is. That’s why I love this channel.♥️
Glad that a young family is moving into the house as I'm sure the house will love to hear laughter and happiness in it's interior again and you would be a great landlord to have.
My first thought too was that the house will be happier now, since it's been empty for a while. 😊 I was also glad that family is right across the street. Stable, responsible renters = happy landlord.
So sad to see what has become of the Potter's House. I have never seen such destruction in such a short period of time. If they are still in this small town I can't imagine anyone ever renting to them again.
How sad…now that we see what happened to the house from these “nice young renters”…you are so kind and have faith in people…you will see that this will turn out well in the end❤️
It's heartbreaking to look back now and now know what the tenants did. I hope Alex and his family can recover the losses and not lose their faith in humanity.
I’m glad the Potter’s House is going to be a home again and won’t be sitting empty during the cold weather. It was good to see it one last time! Very happy that good things continue to come your way, Alex! Couldn’t happen to a more deserving man!
If the house was in America, would have bought it, in a heartbeat! That's a very cool house! Happy y'all found a renter. Prayers that they're decent people and take good care of the house!
I definitely mulled it over more than a few times. Im so used to larger city conveniences, i think it would have been hard to adjust. Plus living in san Diego all my life, i wouldnt know how to deal with that kind of cold and weather.

Your new series... "The reluctant landlord" lol Im glad these properties can cover their own costs for you an fee you up to continue chasing your dreams.
Love this! The intro song to the reluctant landlord should be his Johnny cash I hung my head cover. Just a sad slow song playing and everyone in the background is happy.
Having done maintenance and remodeling on residential and commercial rentals for 22 yrs ... As a landlord..he is in for the headaches...but at least his mortgage is being paid for him.
Scott M. Franklin NC. My hubs and I were landlords for 35 years. I don’t know how we stood it for that long. I wish him well though. We did have some really nice tenants
I loved this series! I want to thank you for opening my eyes. I'm a self-prescribed Level 2 Hoarder. Since watching your series, I have realized how much my mental state is like Mary's. I have valuable stuff intermingled with trash. Since watching this series I have been purging a little bit every day. I'm also cleaning pristine items up that I want to give to loved ones &/or donate. My mental, emotional, and physical disabilities very real BUT I'm focused on baby steps. Thank you! Glad I have subscribed! I appreciate your professionalism, not being judgmental, and your kindness toward wonderful Mary.
I’m so sorry you had such horrible, horrible tenants. They treated that lovely home so badly. I know you put a lot of love and effort into her. I do hope you are able to sell her successfully when it’s finished. 🏡
I started following your channel the day episode 2 of the Potter's House released! This has been an amazing journey to go along with you! So many emotions went into this house, from your side and our following ❤️ you gave a few guys a leg up on their own channels and have been an amazing mentor for them along the way. I think I can speak for everyone when I profess how proud I am to have followed you through this journey and chapter in your and your sweet family's life! ❤️
A lovely outcome. All the pleasure you got from rescuing the house and it's many treasures, now the house "lives again " as a family home for new residents. Great result
I can't believe it's a year in January since yous bought the potter's House, yous are the most unselfish and happiest genuine family I've. met on TH-cam I hope you's all have more successful projects.
A blessing to you to find renters, a blessing to the grandmother and family to be living close to each other, and a blessing for them to have the school nearby. Perfect! :)
I loved watching you all work on the Potter house & turn it back into a beautiful home. I'm glad that a new family will be able to enjoy living in Mary Potter's home. She was an amazing lady who lived a very great life. Great video as always. Thanks for sharing with us!
It is great to see not only someone who understands and appreciated art, and history enough to truly do this home justice. I know that Mrs. Potter looks down with pride in your efforts, and rests in the knowledge that her home is not only a prized piece of Canadian history, but is in the safe hands of someone who truly cares that this landmark will remain in the legends that it deserves. Amazing work, well done.
Gorgeous house, hopefully you have very responsible tenants and I pray they don't tear up or destroy the beautiful floors, and all the awesome hard work that you put in to it .
My thoughts exactly. But it is what it is, ya cant just keep eating up savings paying the mortgage on 4 places. Man I'd have ulcers worrying about that, lol. They are a lucky family to have Alex as their landlord!
Cant believe the potters house hasn't sold yet. It's so homey and warm. Love it. Hopefully the renters will fall in love with it, and buy it. Old houses have beautiful souls....and you have made it beautiful inside and out.
That is great news! So happy that you won't have the stress of worrying about a house three hours drive away that's empty over the winter. I'm sure with all the renos nothing would have gone wrong, but definitely better to have someone in there to keep an eye on things. The Potters House with little feet running around, laughter and conversation in the rooms, snowmen and toys in the yard... awesome!!! It's a home again.
I agree! It would be amazing with all that space. There's one where I live, 2 levels also and it is decked out vintage style, they have local poetry readings, and open Mic nights, they sell delectable fresh made pastries.. called Victoria station, rt by an old train depot. Nowadays ppl spend alot of time and money in those places esp with wifi access.😉
Absolutely excellent, superb series. You took a hoarders house and made it into a historical, treasured home. As well as teaching people about the beautiful, awesome artist that lived a full life at that home. It is amazing and truly compassionate that you took a story that others would have made into trash TV and opened people's eyes and opinions to the true genuine beauty of a lovely, inspiring lady and her wonderful, treasured home. Thank you.
The word "hoarder house" got me to watch the first episode, but when you bought it is when I was really hooked. Then the cast of family, friends, and helpers became so interesting! It just grew on me (and apparently tons more people) now I'm actually sad that it's over but happy you have more adventures to share! (Hans) etc!
My favorite part of the Potter house is that kitchen sink, it’s awesome! So happy you took us along to the house with you, cannot wait to see your new store open!
I hope the new renters will take care of that beautiful house. Sooo sweet that there is a grandmother across the street. Always a blessing to have family near you when your children are growing up. Ideal...near the school! Maybe...they will be able to purchase the home at some point. THAT would be awesome! Hugs and love from NE PA USA. Love your channel! 💕💕💕
There comes a time when any estate is finally and fully closed, when the last items have been distributed, the final sale or rental of the homestead settled, the dust -- every grain of it -- at last all swept up. Sadness is a natural reaction when we see a legacy transition to new hands. It's a cliche, but yes: life does go on and the space (occupied by our departed) now has new energy. Thank you for this extraordinary series of videos and for the glimpse into Mary's remarkable life and contributions. Thank you also -- perhaps more -- for facilitation of inevitable transitions. Nicely done.

RIP Dave. At July 17, 2021, those tenants/family did terrible damage that the entire home has to be redone. Watching the video of Alex's walk thru seeing the damage was heart wrenching. Some people have no respect for someone else's property.
Alex, I am so happy you found a tenant/Family for the house. It sounds like a wonderful thing for them to be near their grandmother and the elementary school. I hope it benefits you and your family's needs as well. I can't wait for your store opening. Thanks for always, bringing us along on your vast adventures over this last year. Wow, you must be tired, you sure have covered a lot of ground!!! Take care and God Bless

Thanks for taking us along on the update for the Potters House. So glad you found a family for the house. I'm sure they will enjoy it. It was good seeing it again. You all worked so hard and it looks beautiful. Hope you will find a buyer soon on your old store space. Looking forward to the grand opening of your new store. ❤️Blessings.
Sounds like the perfect fit for the potter's house for a young family and yourself :) Laughter, and love flowing again and with Grandma right across the street :)
I love that house. I love that so many wonderful, talented people left their mark on that house. Josh, Jakota, Dave, Patrick, Austin, even Mary still lives on there.
Im sure they will enjoy living in the house especially with its history and lovely renovations...and having an awesome landlord too. New energy and life for the house with many memories to be made.
Alex and your crowd did an outstanding job. Everything is beautfiful. Just visited our farm in Ohio. It became a Kennels and now they have retired. It looks lovely and am so happy for them. It is a great feeling. Carol
Unfortunately, if you've now seen the July 15, 2021 Potter House update video, it turns out that the so-called "nice young family" that rented the house has now moved out and has left the house in a complete filthy and damaged shambles. Utterly shameful!!
A lovely ending for a lovely home. I often see old houses in need of love and wish I could buy just one and fix it up. Thank you for sharing the journey of the Potter's House.
I'm going back and watching the Potter's House podcasts from the beginning. I love seeing the start and the transformation. I love seeing you find treasures and every time one of her pots was uncovered it was one of those WOW moments. I became obsessed checking to see if you had put another Potter's House podcast out. It would be cool if you found another one of these kind of places to do.
I just watched the Potter special . I am so glad to now know about the artist and her work. I appreciate every careful step that you made to rediscover the beauty of this home. Thank you
That old range looks just like my 1940s Magic Chef in my summer kitchen. Beautiful house. I recall the beginning and I think it has been treated with a lot of respect to honor its history. Great fridge. Love the tile and cabinets in the downstairs bathroom.
I do love everything about the Potter's home. Thanks for sharing this story of history and artist. I love your choice of music to set the mood for the story.
So happy a family gets to live in it, and now don’t have to be empty in the winter! Hope your other place gets a new owner or tenant soon! Hopefully you can enjoy your new place without all those mortgages!
What an eventful and exciting year this has been for you and your family and the potter's house itself! Thank you for sharing this journey with us. I'm thrilled a young family will be enjoying such a lovely home and making new memories for all of you.
Awesome that you have a renter for the Potter's house!! I am so happy that things are working out. I click so fast when I got the notification of a new video. 😀
Alex, family and friends. A big thank you for an awesome and interesting series of the potters house!! It’s taken me 1 1/2 months to finish. Very cold here in Michigan so I spent many days and evenings with wine going on this adventure. Alex you are a very talented man and commentator. Preserving the past is very dear to me, have many antiques growing up on a dairy farm which I now own. 4th generation (Irish descendants). Built a pole barn/house to display all the found artifacts. Good luck on your next adventures, will be watching!👍🏻
At least you won't have to worry so much whether or not the house is with standing the cold winter and someone will be there to keep it going. Congrats on finding renters.
Thanks for the update. Watching from Los Angeles. I watched the entire series over the past year or so, looked forward to every video. What you did for that house is so wonderful, it was an emotional metamorphosis for sure. I enjoyed seeing your family, your friends, your new found sister and her family. You helped me get through a very difficult year. Thanks. Marie

RIP Dave. At July 17, 2021, those tenants/family did terrible damage that the entire home has to be redone. Watching the video of Alex's walk thru seeing the damage was heart wrenching. Some people have no respect for someone else's property.
The interior is just beautiful. What a great reno! Would love it! ❤️🇦🇺
I've so enjoyed following this series (a.k.a. Potter story). I know Mary is beyond excited that a young family is once again living in the house. I hope the new family is super proud to call it home, I would be!!
You know you're in Canada when it's mid-October and you're remarking that it hasn't snowed yet. ❄️❄️❄️
depends which province you live in .
You do know how big Canada is right..?
@@oaige 😁
If this was in Manitoba, it would be a different story.
I Live Just A Couple Hours Away From Where Alex & His Family Live In Edmonton (I Live In Alberta Too) & Also A Couple Of Hours From Where The Potter House Is Too( But The Potter House Is 1 Province Away From Me In Saskatchewan 🙂) We've Been Hit By 3 Bad Snow Storms 🌨❄🌨❄🌨❄ Already !!! The First 2 Were In September (1st 1 Was Mid-September) !!! & The Last One Just Hit Us Last Week , A Few Days Before Thanksgiving !!! & Now Today it's +20 🤗 That's Life Living In Alberta !!! My GrandPa Would Always Say " If You Don't Like The Weather, Just Give It 5 Minutes....It'll Change !!!" 😂😂LOL🤣🤣
So beautiful, you are such a hard worker and have done a wonderful job. Thank you for a wonderful series
I am glad someone is renting it. I was surprised it didn’t sell.
Me too! I can't believe it didn't sell. I thought it was a buyer's market right now but I'm in the US so maybe different in Canada
Sometimes people are avoiding possible historic houses since there are restrictions on what improvements can be made.
I would like it but others might want more freedom.
Historic houses are a very specific market. It’s adorable but you wouldn’t be able to renovate it without a process.
Only in dreamland. Turned out to be a nightmare.😢
I love that house. I love that so many wonderful, talented people left their mark on that house. Josh, Jakota, Dave, Patrick, Austin, even Mary still lives on there.
Amazing job on that house! So glad a new family will be enjoying it.
What a fantastic job you have done with the house , the new tenants are so lucky to have a landlord that cares as much as you do .
Im sure they will enjoy living in the house especially with its history and lovely renovations...and having an awesome landlord too. New energy and life for the house with many memories to be made.
You weren't sure enough. They were trash!
@@happydays59 no one knew that at the time.
What I want to know is why they punched so many holes in the walls?
@@SirReptitious Well, maybe they were a "nice young family" of boxing kangaroos!
Oh I’m so sorry . Good luck finding a wonderful family to live there. . Unbelievable people !
What those renters did was deliberate and disgusting. They should be criminally prosecuted or at least forced to pay damages.
Ikr, the transformation of the general store wss way to quick lol.
Renters in Australia would get a stove but never a fridge, washing machine or dryer! Good to see that the Potters House will be lived in :)
Happy to see a family will breathe life into that amazing historic home. :)
I just watched the Potter special . I am so glad to now know about the artist and her work. I appreciate every careful step that you made to rediscover the beauty of this home. Thank you
Yay! The Potter's house is going to come alive again with love and laughter. I am glad you got it rented. Thank you for sharing!
Love, laughter, and unfathomable squalor and filth, it turns out.
What a wonderful adventure this house has been. Thank you for sharing the story of it and the artist. I loved it!
Would love to see the yard with toys in it and maybe a glimpse of a Christmas lights! Congrats to all involved and the new family!
So happy a family gets to live in it, and now don’t have to be empty in the winter! Hope your other place gets a new owner or tenant soon! Hopefully you can enjoy your new place without all those mortgages!
The Potter’s house is beautiful. Now it has some love to give back.
So glad you were able to rent the Potter House! One less thing to worry about. Hopefully the tenants will love and appreciate such a beautiful home!
I’m glad it won’t be sitting empty anymore.
Can just imagine Mary smiling!!! XXX
At least you won't have to worry so much whether or not the house is with standing the cold winter and someone will be there to keep it going. Congrats on finding renters.
Good to see Dave again, hi Dave! Renters, wow how exciting!
Melissa favors her Dad...love the showing of the potter house :)))
Thanks. Marie
So glad Mary's house is having a family to live there and bring it back to life :-)
So very proud of the job done at The Potter's house. Hope the new family enjoy's living there for a long time.
And the nightmare began. . .they turned out to be absolutely horrific renters. They destroyed that beautiful house.
The house looks so good. So glad a young family will be there to make a happy home. Great series. I'll be following you moving forward. You are the nicest guy. 👍☺
CONGRATULATIONS on the new renters! That house has such presence! It has a certain thro-back feel that comes through so well, even on video. Hope you and the family had a Great Thanksgiving! 🏰😁🎃🌞
I LOVED this series! From you buying the mountainous hoard, uncovering treasures, to finding it a family. Loved every bit ♡♡♡
Glad it worked out Alex. Soon you'll be a real estate tycoon too. Hard work, love, and good character works wonders. Well done! Your family is deserves success. 👏👏👏
I'm sure the new family will love their new home. We will miss it! Thanks for updating us. With Love From BanDana Gramma
