Today I want to look over my shoulder as I walk you step-by-step through the most important settings you need to change on your Facebook account.

Yes, it is sad, but, thankfully, we are able with guys like Josh to be able to take steps to correct these privacy breaches. Unfortunately, most of our associates are clueless.

My original account was hacked about 2 months ago & FB wasn't very helpful, in fact the opposite, wanting me to send them a legal photo ID to reopen the account which I refused given their record. So I opened a new one using the information you provided to somewhat control & restrict it.Thanks again!

Hi Josh, I saw this was a 2021 tutorial, so I followed meticulously. When I did a 'view as' to ensure it was down to the bare minimum, I discovered ALL was still visible! Then, I realized I was using Dissenter at the time of the changes, not Microsoft Edge. I've also learned that Edge doesn't offer FB Container, nor could I find it available for Dissenter? If you even see & read this late summer 2021 comment, will you be so kind as to offer advice on both counts? I sure would appreciate it. I really like your teaching style, by the way. Slow & easy, good for this 65 year old!
Hey there! Glad you found the tutorial useful. Honestly, I'm not too familiar with the Dissenter browser, but in this case it shouldn't matter too much. The FB Container extension stops FB from tracking you across the web, but it has no impact on your "view as". You'll want to go through your privacy settings again and make sure that it's set to the strictest settings. You can also try to view it from another browser or incognito window to see what your page looks like to somebody who isn't in your network. I hope that helps in some way!

GEEEZ! So much out there to do, but I'm grateful I found u by accident. I had most of the Only Me options on my Facebook, but was able to do more following your steps, plus made more sense why it was being done. Thank u so much Mr. Secured 😊

This video is over 3 years old... any changes? I use the Brave browser, if that better than Firefox? Also in FB locations, I like turning it on to find local events (FB seems to be the ONLY social media where events can be planned & shared) BUT the setting can be set to "Approximate" which finds your geographic area. "Precise" can identify your exact area, where your house is, and of course this should be turned off.

Already the first step is not working for me - cannot find the eye to check how my profile will look to the public - also the diplay is completely different for me . Is there a newer version of this video with current profile views ?
i realize there is a legitimate need to restrict access to personal data, but I can't help but think of it this way: I am one of millions, or even billions?, of users on facebook. or to use google. or whatever. I honestly don't think they're that interested in ME as an individual. ie. if I, or you?, had an ant farm with a million ants, would you seriously give a hoot about any single ant, other than possible the queen? I followed your suggestions, and I thank you for them. I do enjoy watching your videos =)
Hey Jesse, you're right - Facebook might not care that much. But in the case of social media, it's not Facebook that I'm worried about. It's the fact that any guy who gets mad at me can look me up on Facebook, find out where I live and who my wife is, where she works, and then go harass us. Or a company can do background research on me without my permission. Does that make more sense?

Definitely not. What you do on your personal privacy settings will not affect your business page at all.
Hey there, very helpful video! I do have a slight problem when it comes to Facebook Live videos (more specifically, gaming streams). Every time I react on my favorite streamer's live videos or make comments on it during the live, Facebook always shows it on my friends' newsfeeds and it's really disturbing (eg. 'My Name added 3 comments'). I know it's sort of a way for streamers to get more recognized but is there a way for me to turn those off while still commenting and reacting to the streamer I'm following? Thanks!

When you block the 'location" services does this affect the 360 app - need to have my family be able to locate me! :)
It might. Have you considered using “Find My Phone” or the Android equivalent instead of Facebook?
I did something similar to this several months ago. And now on my Facebook messenger there’s not an option to add a room and I’m wondering if this might’ve had something to do with it. Am I being penalized for giving restrictions to Facebook?
I don't think so, Cindy. It's certainly possible, but there are a lot of times where these social platforms change their features or limit features to certain groups as they test them. I don't think it's a punishment.

I recently was told by numerous friends on Facebook that someone using my name was trying to contact them through messenger. I never use messenger. And, that I was sending friend requests to people I was already friends with. I assume I was hacked. I've changed my password. My questions are, how can I fix this and prevent this from happening in the future?

To set limit my past posts, does this include posts in groups?
Groups also determine whether posts are public or private.

The current menu systems don't look like this. Also, changing settings to "only me" or "friends" doesn't work either. Selecting options doesn't seem to have any effect. When I log out and look at my profile as a stranger, everything is still visable. Facebook is trash.

Here's something I have never been able to figure out...I was on a FB page about my favorite sports teams recently, made a comment, and noticed my Mom "liked" my comment. She doesn't care about sports and would never visit this page on her own...how did she know I posted on that page?? I don't want people in my friends' list to be able to "follow" my comments on OTHER pages. How do I prevent this?

Yea, we're not controlling the algorithm (i.e. who among your friends sees your post), we're just controlling your privacy.

Only friends can see my Facebook posts. Is their a way to share a post to a specific group on Facebook from my Facebook account?
You can create a specific subset of your friends on Facebook (i.e. family or close acquaintances), but you can't just choose specific people who you aren't connected with.
What about allowing "Friends" on so many items and their "friends" have access to the Site? That would be the case if your Friends have not gone through this list of yours, wouldn't it? Oh and I DELETED my FB account over a month ago, feel much better now!

Not exactly the same. The FB container is meant to make sure the Facebook pixel can't follow you around.

Neither me or my wife can set our preferences so that only friends or friends of friends can response to our posts with a like or any of the emojis. I see many other facebookers who have the setup so that people who aren't at least friends of friends can't respond with a like or emoji. Why can't we? We can block making comments, but not the like or dislike emojis. Any ideas?

I love receiving friend requests from scammers. I usually humiliate the scammer and try to hack their profile before blocking them. Ain't saying if I've actually hacked into any scammer profiles but usually the scammer profile is deleted within hours of my interaction with them. I swear I don't release the personally identifiable information of scammers in India and Nigeria to public forums and other pages on facebook.
Their is a settings that you should turn on that is: Don't trust the ZUCC.

Control Off-Facebook Activity: This Facebook option is a lie. I have had this off and cleared for a long time now and the sponsored ads still reflect and are obviously tailored to my interactions with other retailers, websites, and search engines.

No offense, but, it seems as if you've got a lot to hide. And people who have a lot to hide, usually also have a lot to pretend about, a lot of deceptive intentions, and misleading posturing. Internet security is all G, but the fact that you keep your likes a secret, is a very big, very red flag. Lol, Js.
Keeping my likes a secret from the global public? I don't think that's too much to hide. My friends and connections can still see it, but I have the right to say that all of this isn't public information and that's definitely not deceptive.
