Haha!! I would just see another movie! But a cocktail wouldn't hurt. To be honest I would recommend seeing it just because this movie will make history one way or another. Thanks for your comment! Let me know if you see it!

I appreciaate the even handed, artistically appreciative review. Seems more like an ambitious work of art & I'm here for it. Def planning on seeing it when I get a chance this weekend on as big a screen as I'm able to, with a friend worthy of having a deep conversation about film, art & society at length afterwards.

You said it! Thank you for the comment! Let me know what you think. I'm going to see it again tonight to see if I can get a better perspective. It's always harder when you have to take notes in the dark, and then focus on the beauty of the film. I'm going to give it another chance. Love that you're into having those deep conversations about film. That's the joy of cinema. I appreciate you! Thanks again!

I thought the film was extremely bold and I loved a good majority of it. It sticks in my head more as a painting than a narrative and I kinda feel that’s what Coppola was going for. That being said I do feel like it was unnecessarily clunky in the way it delivered exposition or even staged certain scenes. Thanks for a fair review. I feel like most people that didn’t like it have no clue what their talking about and just hating it because it’s the new cool thing to hate.

I completely agree with you! I do love that it was bold, and I'm glad he took the risk. I think you said it better than I did in my review! I wish I would have said what you just did, about people hating it just to hate it. That's the world we live in now, and it's such a bummer. I love a lot of movies other people think are really bad, and there are many so called great movies that I just don't get why they're award winning. I am glad the I saw it, and was able to support an amazing director, and their vision. Even if I thought it was flawed, he did what he loved, and that's all that matters. Thank you for your comment! Love your feedback!

Why does everything have to be explained? I actually hate being spoon-fed answers by directors who treat their audience like kindergarteners.
Great art is often misunderstood. It is supposed to be experienced. Art is not supposed to give you the answer, it's supposed to make you ask the question.
Megalopolis is offbeat. It's most definitely unconventional in its presentation and delivery. It possesses supreme visuals. Some call it a mess and say it's unbalanced. It is, in fact, a beautiful mess and is perfectly unbalanced. It's a Francis Ford Coppola masterpiece.

@@FineLineMotionPictures You have a great point! I agree with you. After the second time I saw it I appreciated it more, but I still see its flaws in its exposition. But it may have been purposeful. That’s the great thing about art. It can be beautiful or messy and still be beautiful either way. And love it or hate it, but respect it, and its creator. Thank you for your comment!

@@Scene1Take1Roll1MovieRevie-m9f I'm glad you saw it a second time. It's a strange goose, that's for sure. I can't help but love it. Thanks for the reply. All the best!

@Scene1Take1Roll1MovieRevie-m9f Oh, no! Don't ask! LOL! As an amateur filmmaker myself, I try to never speak negatively about anyone else's art. Having said that, Joker: Folie à Deux is an aimless, self-defeating, totally unnecessary film. It was ambitious, which is the closest I can come to a compliment. It was like they consistently chose the wrong adventure in some bad choose your own adventure book from elementary school. Awful!

It was a perfect movie. The imperfect thing is the hive mind of the critics. This movie unfortunately is smarter than the audience. It will go down as a great film.

Thank you for your comment! What did you specifically like about it? Did you agree with me about Shia being pretty great in this movie? A lot of people didn't like him. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and you may be right. It may go down in history as one of the greatest movies ever made. I didn't hate it, but I didn't like it either. I did appreciate what he tried to do, and love his ambition. I love some of the great films like Seven Samurai, and critically acclaimed films, but I also like movies other critics hate. I really liked Kevin Costner's Horizon. I still love Robocop 2! Don't let critics tell you what to love. If you love it, that's all that matters. All reviews are subjective. I will give it another watch this weekend though. It was too epic of a movie only to see it once. I'd like to know your thoughts if you see it a second time. I'm curious to see what you think of the Joker sequel if you see it. I have a review of it coming Friday. Thanks again for your comment! I love talking film with other film fans!
