Huggy, Mommy and Catnap were once kids. august 1995, the prototype, the thing that killed catnap and mommy led a rebellion against the workers, which is what you saw in the tape. the character you play as knew about the experiments, but wasn't at work when that happened, so they survived. the game takes place 10 years after the place closed down, and it's implied you came back over the guilt of your actions in ch 2 it's revealed that elliot ludwig, the founder of the company, lost a family member, possibly a daughter and he tried to bring her back to life. one theory is poppy, the doll, is that daughter. after she was brought to life, the company kept experimenting, leading to more monsters. another big theory is the prototype is elliot ludwig, and is planning something, but what that is, is still unknown
