    Ties for 1st place in sound with which other product?

    Thanks for the review. Is it at all possible to enjoy Apple’s Hi Res Lossless (ALAC 24 bit/ 192 kHZ) on this speaker? I know Airplay doesn’t support Hi Res but I was thinking of connecting my iPhone to an external DAC and then connecting the DAC to the Omnia but there doesn’t appear to be any aux input. Thanks

    Hi! Very quick question: how much better then a b&o formation wedge? Thank you!

    As you are the only youtuber, who reviewed both Omnia and RS250, I have to ask: which and why? And I am asking about your preference.

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say it somewhat depends on use case and size of the room, but personally I'd take the Omnia.

      You’d take the 450W Omnia over the 650W RS250? Im surprised to hear you say that. I haven’t heard either, but am familiar w the specs and your review for both. Since the Naim Mu-so 2 and Omnia are in the same ballpark, spec-wise, where does the Naim fit in to the comparison of the three? Is there any application for you where the Mac prevails over the other two? I went into my local high end Audio store today and they didn’t have either the Sonus Faber or the Mac, but they had the Naim. I demo’d that for a while, playing a full spectrum of music. Was really great for a lot of music, but lacked a full low end sound at max vol for bass-heavy hip-hop, for example. Was holding out that the extra 200 watts of power w the Mac would make up for that. What about a Devialet Phantom I (or II) in that case stacked up against the aforementioned? While we’re at it what about B&O balance? Primary application would be music, w TV being second.

    Is “Faber” in “Sonus Faber” pronounced as “fi-ber” or should it be something closer to “fe-ber”?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Dmitri, it is interesting that they always spell it Sonus faber, with the f in faber as a lower case. They also pronounce it FAH-ber, with the accent on the first syllable and a flat A, like father

    How does the Sonus Faber Omnia compare to a Divialet Phantom and the Naim Mu-So Qb 2?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Phantom hits harder, Omnia sounds wider, Mu-So QB2 really works best having multiples in different rooms for house filling audio. It's good but not quite on the level of the prior two.

      @@GramophoneMD Thank you so much for your considered reply. Your expertise helps. Another issue which most reviewers don't talk about is how reliable and easy-to-use is the software? I use Bluesound + Roon and it's really buggy. Who's got the most reliable software, Devialet or Sonus Faber?

    • @JB-sh2mm

      @@GramophoneMD I assume we’re talking Phantom II, and not the 108 db Phamtom I?

    Omnia, Mac 250 or AMBEO? Which comes out on top?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      More for music? The Mac or the Omnia. More for movies? The Ambeo. That said they are all at the top of their class, hard to go wrong.

    Loved the review and the overview of the system with excellent features of the product. You can't go wrong with Sonus Faber. But I would like to know two things about this product. 1) How do you place this speaker underneath the TV to replace a soundbar. 2) What are the cons of this product.

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The only con is that it is not a pair of more expensive Sonus Faber speakers haha. Honestly for it aims to be it is the best yet. You would just place it the same way you would any sound bar.

    Tied for first place with??? McIntosh RS250? Naim Mu-So? It’s right on my sweet spot shortlist for my JBL soundbar replacement ….. would love to know your other all in 1 candidate?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tied with the JBL L75ms imo. That speaker has more output and slam, but the Omnia is sweet and wide sounding. Personally I would take the Omnia, but the JBL still deserved some recognition.

    "Tied for first place for best sounding"... what is the other...?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The JBL L75ms, they are different and some will prefer one over the other. I personally would take the Sonus Faber, but the JBL was objectively just as great but of a different taste.
