Hithaeglir - Thy Swan Knight (full album, 2024)

For my second feature of this week’s Dungeon Synth Sunday, I submerge you in the gently distorted realms of Hithaeglir in new album, Thy Swan Knight.
This aquatic-themed release is awash with the sound of coastal wind and waves - of lamentations lost to gales and battles concluded in the depths, told through the indistinct, slightly unsettling yet equally comforting warbling music box tones of melancholia and nostalgia, filtered together under waning light and flickering filmic grain.
Every release from the monogrammed artist S’s project is an immaculate narrative of transportive sounds, alongside Étaín and Mildþryþ projects, and this is another compelling addition to the discography.
