I just opened a fake one that I ordered form Amazon. Missing the serial number all-together on the mic itself, and a sticker over the original serial number on the box. Although, the sticker was not the same as yours. I peeled back the sticker and there was Rode information but it appeared to be another cheap sticker. However, the code on their website to register it did work. I only checked to see if it was available, but did not register. Returning and using the link you provided to get a legit one. You are awesome and I appreciate this vid!

The fake sounds terrible, worse than a very cheap camera's built in mic. The real locking wheel is also plastic, just better threads. Hope you enjoy the mic and that it serves you well.
