Growing up in NYC during the 80's, Gooden always had a special place in my heart. We share the same birthday, November 16th. Yup, that's the reason he wore #16 on his Mets jersey! Even though I grew up a Yankees fan, I remember seeing that '86 Mets team giving NYC it's only championship team during my childhood. Thanks, DOC❤!
It was a very special day for Doc Gooden, his number retired mets get the win after a tough pitchers duel, there will always be critics, let the one who is without sin cast the first stone.
My wife and I woke up Sunday morning to beautiful weather and decided to go to this baseball game. We're fans of whoever the home team is. I've learned to appreciate ball games in my mid 30s. Its relaxing. Much different energy than hockey games. Last year we went to Fenway Park. It was amazing. This year we'll be in Chicago for a few days so looking forward to Wrigley Field.
God almighty I was 20 years old & will never forget that 1st game he pitched watching with my grandfather man I couldn't wait for each game he pitched for at least 7-8 years.
Lets go Mets baby!! Only thing better than this series win is not having to hear, "What a tribute to Renfroe", every time he touches the ball in the outfield.
On a day to retire, Dwight "Doc" Gooden's number, you couldn't ask for a well pitched game from either team. Mets need to take advantage of men on base. This could have hurt them. Let's go, Mets.
If is a block home plate violation on starling marte then gonna be overturned cause block the home plate violation is not allowed on this rule but they are allowed to block the home plate but not the whole body to block the whole plate obviously is a violation.
I worked the front desk of a Ritz-Carlton (location withheld) and Doc's prostitute (allegedly) was so pissed she wasn't allowed at the game that she charged drinks for the entire bar/lounge area for a 5 hour period to "their" room. The next morning, when Doc approached the front desk with his bill, I was expecting objections or at least questions as the bill was nearly $8k. Instead, he said nothing and threw his AMEX card up on the counter. MILLIONAIRES!
there have been plenty of athletes who have done much worse than the coke benders Doc and the 86 team in general did. Aroldis chapman had domestic abuse cases against him and yet he's still pitching. Just as an example.
@@alecbormia4523 but we're not talking about those other guys today are we? It's a Mets video bro, and Doc Gooden just got his number retired on the rafters. That's what we're talking about, right here right now. Chapman's playing for the Pirates RN isn't he? Go say something on one of those vids.
Pitching dominates on Dwight Gooden day.😊
Also nice of the NY crowds cheering Lindor, trying to help him out of his slump....

Butto's changeup was damn good today. Intriguing piece to that rotation while we wait for Senga to return
Butto definitely earned his next start. Hope he's here to stay.

Three Series Wins in a Row 🍎🍎🍎 #LGM #DOC16
very good performance by the Mets starting pitcher, I sincerely think it was important for the Victory..
Doc Gooden was one of my favorite pitchers to see, as a kid. Absolute legend! 😎
I will never forget his '85 campaign. It was just amazing. One of the best seasons ever for a starting pitcher. And he was only 21 years old.

There is no block violation on the home plate attempted to score for starling marte.
I missed this game because of work but by watching the highlights it was an amazing game. Butto was dealing

Legend! Throwin heat.
THIS WIN IS FOR THE DOC!!!!! ⚾️💪🙂🧡💙1️⃣6️⃣🐐 #LFGM
Butto has earned the right to stay in the starting 5, keep him up!
Absolutely.
Mets looking good lately w/ wins - catching up w/ the loses from 1st week of the season. AAA +++
Best record in the NL over the last 10 games. Second best in all of MLB (tied), behind only the Royals.
Butto definitely earned his next start. Hope he's here to stay.
Dwight was a dominate force back in the day and it's a shame when you see someone waste there talent. I hope he's no longer looking for the afterparty
Big win today!
A win is a win for The Amazing Mets!

pics or it didn't happen
It was 1999 my friend. It definitely happened.
Today's Mets starting pitcher makes the other players who earn so many millions look very good.
5:58 great pitch… terrible frame 😂 slow motion makes it even worse
Bases loaded LIndor should have switched sides.
4:38 My gosh. That collision.
Willie Mayes Bader knocked the shhh outa that one!!! And it pays off baby!!!! LFGM!!!
I know New York started off slow but I’ve been saying, this Mets team shouldn’t be taken likely!
GG Mets
GG
Okay Butto 👀
LFGM 🧡🏆💙
why did Texas trade Ragans for half a season of Chapman again when pitching has been their Achilles heel this entire decade?
To improve their chances of winning the World Series in '23.
0:06 Gooden surrounded by a sea of white seems appropriate.
Boo!
You deserve it, Dwight Gooden!
can’t believe a guy named butto is good!
Santana esq change up
LETS GO METS BASEBALL ✝️❤️✝️🇺🇲⚾❤️ #16 Dwight "Dr. K." Gooden
Butto definitely earned his next start. Hope he's here to stay.
LGM
Why does every mur highlight start with lindor looking like he hit a walkoff homerun in game 7 of the world series.
Don’t do drugs
Moral of the story - if you get arrested for cocaine possession you, too, can be elected into the Mets hall of fame?
And there’s murderers in the NFL hall of fame and rapists in the basketball hall of fame. What’s your point
there have been plenty of athletes who have done much worse than the coke benders Doc and the 86 team in general did. Aroldis chapman had domestic abuse cases against him and yet he's still pitching. Just as an example.
@@KT-mw2jt I think you made it for me

Reductive much? lol
Are you serious this guy was a drug addict
Yeah so everything he did was terrible and he deserves nothing right? Everyone has their problems, he worked on them. You're a sad hater.
yeah key word "was," he aint anymore
So what? Are you serious?
