Idk about your area but Mercedes value drops significantly after a few years, around me there’s 2014-2016 c250 and c300s for 5.5k; I’m pretty certain there’s always going to be cheaper due to loss in value in current cars
@@Racerblx1291yes bro. I actually own a 2014 c250 “sport” and it’s my favorite car I’ve ever driven. It’s in great condition I got super lucky bc the pervious owner was a mom who took very good care of it lol. If you have any recommendations for some mods I’d be down to hear them. I’m thinking of doing a muffler delete and then trying to get the horses up a bit but idrk what to do
@whoareyoutocallinpinhead5330 I was thinking of getting that one, but how’s the avg gas on it for you? For mods I was just thinking of a H pipe and muffler delete (further down the line a engine swap)
New Edge Mustang, hell yeah! 🔥 My first car was an 01 Gt. Bought it for $3,400 with 169k miles. Had it for over 7 years now and it’s still running strong at 230k. Very fun, very reliable. Easy to work on, huge aftermarket support. Slap on some coil overs and a catback and it’s a head turner. Phenomenal car!
@ Insurance is just expensive for everyone right now regardless of what you drive. I was only paying $58 till they started raising the prices. Now I’m paying $72.
Sleeping on the 03 acura tl type s, it was my first car, and im still driving. It's at 200k+ miles and still has 100k+ in it. Mine has an aspec skirt kit and is planning on lowering it. The community is also very, very supportive and helpful, and very nice. I definitely think its over looked.
Bro I just lost my 08 tl to some ice and a big ass curb. Just found out it got totaled. The tl community is honestly the best and I'm gonna get back to it as soon as I can. Much love homie

Hell yeah! I have been driving my first car for almost a year and it's a 5 speed 2010 Corolla S! I have changed a few things on it to make it look nicer (in my opinion) but it's definitely an A --> B car. I'm still super happy with it even though it isn't the most thrilling .
Lets be real half these cars if you find them under 5k they are going to be a pile of absolute shit. You have to consider most high schoolers don't have a lot of money and I'd bet most of these cars would be nightmares for their wallets.
17:00 minivan representation!!! the king of the roadtrip, the lord of social gatherings, the god of comfort, and the monarch of moving shit. you can sleep in the back, buy a couch off fb marketplace, or take all the homies on a trip and still like each other by the end of it because you're not smooshed together with all the luggage. let's gooooo
I was not expecting the 2nd gen honda odyssey to be on this list. Even as an HM. I was lucky enough to get one as a free hand me down in completely mint condition no issues other than 160k miles and a dirty inside. It now has 200k miles with only around $3k put into it over that time. It did tank a deer hit which now makes the steering wheel shake at 80mph+ and some small rust spots here and there but other than that it works amazing, good power, all the friends love the roomy feeling of it, and it was a fully loaded trim. At first I felt embarrassed to drive a minivan, as my high school friends got pickups, mustangs, and a camaro, but 3 years later, im very happy with my van. Just wish I didn’t abuse it as much as I did when I first got it, because now I want it to last as much as it can, used to drive it like a new cocky driver, but now drive it like a grandma for longevity purposes.
Will say it’s getting harder to find ek civics under 5k especially manual in decent condition especially since the interiors are always abused on those hatches
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MARK! If you wanted to include a Celica soo bad the 6th gen ST was right there! 116hp (on a 1130kg car) N/A 1.8 7AFE (Extremely reliable, tuneable up to 200 and sounds very good, can even have some V12 notes at high rpms), they make fun autocross / track cars, you can make a lot out of them by reducing the rotating mass and stiffening the chassis, and looks WAY better outside and inside in my opinion, and they're of the generation that will FOREVER hold Pikes Peak's All gravel record time🥲
Heads up to any new drivers looking at the new edge mustang, get the v6. You will loose control a bit with the v8 so just work your way up to this (from experience)
A poor man’s 335i is a sentence I hate hearing 😭 the used car market has gone up too much man… if you live in the north I gotta suggest you look at Subarus. They are great in the snow and have good reliability.
Oh Mark.....even you forgot them again. Saabs, especially the older ones. Incredibly safe, reasonably reliable, not too bad to work on, and easy to build power (a lot of power) when you are ready. Actually now that i think about it......dont mention them.......keeps them cheap for me and you when you wanna see what happens when someone wants to build a FWD car to complete with the BMW 3 series. Integras are nice, but go get a nice Saab
I wanna know where you’re finding a 99 eclipse for 1500. Even broke down pos are selling for 3k. Worst thing is finding one that someone hasn’t dogged so hard and overboosted. Nostalgia has a hold of that thing.
I'm a college freshman with a slightly higher budget (~6.5K) and looking at a 2nd gen Scion tC because of the looks, reliability, and liftback. Thoughts?
I will settle your concerns about the Celica's reliability. Overall, it is a very reliable car with an engine known to run past 200k miles easily. People just hate and beat on the car. The BMW V8 is ok, but for the last time, be careful with turbo German motors in cars like the Audi A4 and Golf GTI. They are no civic motor, and a couple renditions are pretty crappy to the point where literally everything breaks on them (2.0T). The Subaru boys are gonna hate me for this, but the EJ Boxer engine (specifically the EJ20/25, though the FB has the same issue), is one of the worst engines ever mass-produced. A lack of boosting doesn't mean jack squat. They'll blow head gaskets significantly sooner than most cars.
My older brother had a 1991 Toyota celica, 5 speed, convertible, and I loved it for it being a convertible, but in about a year, it needed, at least that I know of, a new alternator, starter, serpentine belt, and it also had a coolant leak, and a small oil leak as well, and it also had a broken speed ometer like however long after he got it I believe, I don’t really believe if I remember correctly that he got it like that, but that car got me extremely open with manuals, and now that’s all I really even care about, and or want ( im talking about a manual car by the way, haha )
@@ethangrimborne8427 ya for sure, but it was definitely at the end of its life, it started over heating so bad and whatever he had to fix, he was told they had to take the entire dash apart, and as far as other stuff goes, the rear side window fell out, like the little one on the passenger side, the clip stopped working on the top, like it worked but it kind of sucked putting it back up, the rear bumper got hit by a car, and the front bumper got hit as well
only if you find one thats sold by an old person who is rich and got the maintenance done routinely, mileage shouldnt matter too much if it looks like a genuine guy or a family man.
how would i go about modding a car without my own driveway/garage? should i go to a mechanic or will they be iffy bout it cause im bringing my own parts?

Good luck getting a 4x4 4Runner for under 5k unless it’s got 300k+ miles 4 gen came with the 4.7 3rd gen came with the 2.7l and 3.4 would stick with the 3rd gen

I just wanna say you did a bad job with this one calling it a Mitsubishi, eclipse. GT is already bad and then you tell everybody it’s only front wheel drive for 5K. You can get an all-wheel-drive or at least one with a 200 hp 4g63 you like the car, but… since when the Mitsubishi eclipse 1g or 2g called a GT that’s never been a trim, 😂😂😂
I’m pretty scared for what options there will be 10 years from now. Supply keeps dwindling and dwindling and prices keep rising in the used market.
