The American education system indoctrinates kids into believing horseshit. My school had a vote for what president they wanted when Obama was running. If anyone voted for McCain, they were shunned by the other students because the teachers told them who to vote for.

Forever a conspiracy theorist/spoiler alert expert, the fact so many people thought the number was 51 or 52 is alarming. It is one thing to get it wrong but so consistently wrong is suspicious and may be indicative of an actual effort to plant these numbers in their heads. When people are subjected to subliminal mind control it is invisible and the implanted motivation comes seemingly out of left field. For instance, If you were to imbed a message on the screens of American televisions or cell towers to allow DC and Puerto Rico statehood you wouldn't flash "LET PUERTO RICO AND DC BECOME STATES" because it is too direct and too long. By flashing "52 States" "52 States" "52 States" the population would deep in their minds come to believe there should be 52 states and then their actions and belief systems would work to reconcile the two. Even if in this particular cast it isn't happening. This is how its done.

My Grandpa came from Mexico. He actually hired a lawyer in the early 1960s to get himself, my grandma, and their 9 kids over to the US LEGALLY. He made his way up to the border town of Calexico and worked across the border in Mexicali every single day, learning the ropes of the restaurant business. Mind you, they were DIRT POOR but my grandpa wanted to do everything right so that nothing was left to chance. It turned out that the lawyer didn't declare that the oldest child, my dear aunt, had Polio. When the family was ready to make the move up north, my aunt was stopped at customs, where they discovered that she in fact, did have Polio and she wasn't given clearance to go in the country. Everyone else was good, but not my aunt. Well, my grandparents knew that it was "all or no one" and they painfully decided to re-file for legal entrance with the right paperwork. They had to wait SEVERAL MORE YEARS to be granted access. But my grandpa persisted. He could have very well immigrated illegally but he was a morally just man who cared deeply about his family. My aunt still cries about what happened, but the cousins and grankids constantly remind her that it was God's plan that made it go down the way it did. Anyways, my grandpa got more business savvy, saved up to get his own restaurant, and was finally allowed in the country. He said that the moment he felt American was when he voted for Ronald Reagan for California Governor. And he was so proud when The Great Communicator was elected President of the USA, because it was in the 80s when my grandpa's businesses really flourished. He is not around any longer, but his businesses are still going strong.

The history & civics test should be very easy for citizens to answer. When I was a child I thought there should have been 52, 50 Continental states & 2 extra. As an adult I know better. If a person, who is a born &/or raised citizen of United States, cannot answer like more than 12 up to 20 questions that are on the history & civics test they should not be allowed to vote. They should be much more familiar with America than people who are coming here.

We were taught the same back in the late 90s--00s. We were taught Puerto Rico and Guam were going to become states, and that there would be 52 stars. @Your Name And much of the USA was Mexico. So many are basically native north Americans too, or descendants of them before being pushed farther south.
@Your Name yeah, but it's easier to say I'm American than I'm a USAican. And you can say Mexico is also the USA by your reasoning. It's the only country in the Americas that has named itself America. So what are you going to call it that's politically correct and people know what your talking about? The north American country between Canada and Mexico? Is that okay for you?

This totally breaks my heart. Citizens that were not born here know more than naturally born and raised Citizens. Keep up the awesome work exposing!
Could be because those that entered the United States legally take a test to get citizenship.
That is because the schools waste the kids time by teaching them a bunch of foolishness.
The reason she probably knew the answer is if she got her stay in America card she had to learn and remember what the flag meant and represented. The questions they give you on the test would hardly ever be answered by anybody that was born here. They are hard questions and she just happens to be a smart girl.
The American education system indoctrinates kids into believing horseshit. My school had a vote for what president they wanted when Obama was running. If anyone voted for McCain, they were shunned by the other students because the teachers told them who to vote for.
well, you have to think, these are the same idiots in a VERY left state that have been taught that you can spontaneously change gender by thinking hard enough. All of their accumulative IQ's are in the negative
Same here where I live: most people under 40 have no clue what our flag (colors and symbols) means and or represent. But when that's said, I'm pleasantly surprised about how many actually got your question right.
Either way, real patriots always knows these things - as they should!
How many people over 40 in that video didn't know that either? Looked like half.....pretty sad shit.
@@ZippyLikesZippers It's absolutely sad to see and or realize so many don't know the basics about their country's foundation and what we use to symbolize that. No matter what country; for those living outside the US - it's the same there.
People without a history are doomed to wander the Earth like lost children; rootless, and with empty souls; following any light and sign put out there by those preying on their fellow man.
That’s sad that such a basic question is hard to answer for some. If one doesn’t know how many stars or what our flag represents, then I don’t know how one can call themselves an American. That’s like someone being a devout Christian and not know the basics of their religion.
It's a very low bar. I am a bit of a map/politics/history nerd, granted, and grew up in Norway, never been to the States, but I'm pretty sure I could have passed this one when I was about ten years old. I could have told you all the states and the 25 largest cities too. And most of the presidents. And the branches of govt and what they are for. It's always been hard for me to understand how people walk around like that for apparently several decades in a row without learning stuff almost automatically. What else is there?

It's damn near impossible to be informed of anything accurate anymore. I can't speak from a time before I was born, but I can't imagine this issue has gotten better over time.
Probably Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands. Both are still US Territories and have been for a long time. Now and again there is statehood talk but haven't seen anything really move forward in this regard in 40 years.
We were taught the same back in the late 90s--00s. We were taught Puerto Rico and Guam were going to become states, and that there would be 52 stars. My junior year of high school one of the teachers heard that that was what we were taught and made it a huge point to correct us and refresh us on the US territories, and the fact that they were not states. Maybe the ones in the video who thought there were 51 or 52 states had the same misinformed curriculum.
