    8:00 I so agree with you. I watch Turkish dramas of 2 hours each episodes and people still watch them because the stories are so interesting.
    Also to anyone reading I am not from turkey, so cultural bias is not applicable.

    • @js_deniz
      @js_deniz 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      They were good, now they are pretty bad... I'm still waiting for something like İçerde (forever my favorite).... Çukur, good first and second season, then I watched season 3 because of Selim. Season 4, nope, dropped it.... Same with Yargi, second season: dropped it... and with Deha, well, I didn't even get to the third episode...

      @@js_deniz Agreed. Some of my favorites: Hercai; Coban Yildizi; Erkenci Cus; Cukur; though I don’t watch Turkish dramas anymore, couldn’t find one to interest me for a long time now

      @@js_deniz I watch mostly newer ones like hudutsuz sevda, leyla, yali capkini they hook you you on pretty well. But the ones you mention I’ll check them out.
      Main thing is that the Turkish stories somewhat still feel tangible and real with emotions and that is the main catch point newer cdramas are failing to capture. I would say even kdrama as they both seem to follow a same note of superficial characters.

      @@js_deniz I agree!! I used to almost watch everything but these past few years they seem to always produce the same stories on repeat.

      Turkish dramas have long episodes only because of the advertisement regulations. A tv channel can have a maximum of 15 minutes of ads per hour, which is why the drama makers stretch the episode to fit in more ads. A lot of Turks criticise this practice and prefer streaming platforms for this reason. I'm Turkish and it's been years since I've put in the time to watch a Turkish series, they are all mindnumbing garbage now.

    The problem is that sometimes they only have 20 episodes worth of content and they try to stretch it out to 40 episodes.

    • @aprillen
      @aprillen วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yeah, if the story requires 40+ episodes to be told well, then it should be allowed to have that amount of episodes, but if it only has material to fill 15-20 episodes, then it shouldn't be stretched out with tons of boring filler episodes and needless twists that don't make any sense and serve no real purpose for the characters or the plot.

      Every time I hear about cdrama Eternal Love I just think about how those people don't care that it's plagiarized from a danmei author and the production team plus original novel author took advantage of homophobia to sweep it under the rug and even harassed the original author.

    Looking forward to your review of Bleach/Drifting Away. I only recently found out it was plagiarized and added to that the major plotholes and glorifying of the murderers. It's really frustrating. I do think Zhao Jinmai and the actors portraying the bad guys are really good, but everything else is so problematic. I feel bad for the real life victims and their family going through this pain again.

    May you be happy and prosperous in the new year. As much as I like your walking posts, you cannot go out in those conditions. I have been looking forward to The Legend of the Female General, which was speculated to be coming after Flourished Peony. Alas, Everlasting Longing was airdropped instead. The MDL comment section is now concerned it will be shelved like the dramas you mentioned 11:28 awaiting possible face swapping or just LMD's controversy calming down. Too bad, I had hoped to see it. I look forward to another critique on female generals.

    14:44-15:30 Well apart from Phantom Blade Zero there's literally gonna be a crap ton of awesome Chinese video games coming out pretty soon that many gamers are looking forward to
    Another one that stands out is Wuchang: Fallen Feathers so that's another one that's highly anticipated and you might wanna cover that in the future as well even though I know you're just primarily a C-drama channel and don't really cover games
    But yeah as a gamer I'm extremely excited for the future of the Chinese gaming industry because as an American you're probably aware of some of things that a lot of here in the US are completely disgruntled and frustrated with American gaming companies especially with their recent business models and practices that we disagree with
    But wish all the best for the Chinese game developers and keep making us good games like Black Myth: Wukong

      I just wish they've could've done this a long time ago instead of making a bunch of those MMOs and mobile gacha games *_well better late than never_* I guess

    Watched five episodes of Everlasting Longing. The leads are good to look at but that's about it. Also watched Wang XingYue in the first episode of Perfect Match it starts out with a single mother and five plus daughters looking to marry. It's using slapstick situations but is quite confusing as to who is who at this point.

    Perfect Match reminds me of Hilarious Family. Both set in Song Dynasty with similar theme (widow trying to get her daughters married off). Perfect Match is the richer, more serious version of Hilarious Family. I liked Hilarious Family because of the unconventional leads and story telling (female lead was chubbier than the usual Chinese FLs, ML was prettier than the FL, and no 15-year old female character romancing). Perfect Match would be more like BanXia's story in comparison to HF.

    Actors should be held accountable too because they chose to work on bad distasteful projects and they're the literally the ones acting it out and representing it to audiences. They have a big part in it.

    • @mercyadubea3439
      @mercyadubea3439 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      Lol, that navie, actors don't know how their show will be recieved unless it airs , they should get blame when they are not acting well in their roles that is their main job , to properly act their roles out. Directing, script writing, editing all needs to come together to creat a good show.

    • @etherealfan
      @etherealfan 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @mercyadubea3439 You're the naive one. The actor has the script and is involved in production. Are they infants who don't have their own opinions and experiences that help them decide if something is problematic or not? You're basically saying an actor should only care about if people will think badly of them. They should care because they have morals. Not because of their vanity or reputation. Some actors knew during production their shows were plagiarized but they still continued to act in it and promote it shamelessly. If you read a script that glorifies grooming, and you still chose to sign a contract and act in it and promote it, then you should be held accountable because you have a lot of responsibility.

    • @mercyadubea3439
      @mercyadubea3439 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @etherealfan because we r different people with different mindset , what u think is bad , the other might not think it is , this will always be the problem of this world, why blame the actors some don't even get the full script before shooting a show. The script writers who plagiarism n write issues like that should be blamed . They are the core of the story. As much as actors r the face of drama , scriptwriters needs to take responsibility for issues concerning the story of a drama.

    • @etherealfan
      @etherealfan 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @mercyadubea3439 Some things are just bad. There's no way to justify grooming or racism for example. If you tell me otherwise, you're telling on yourself. Stop with the stan brainrot and treat actors like humans.

    • @mercyadubea3439
      @mercyadubea3439 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @etherealfan r u listening to yourself, am not justifying racism or glomming, I just said if the script writing wrote these things in their story, they need to be held accountable, what about the director directing the story , didn't he also see that there were something wrong with the scenes, why do we have to blame the actors only , instead of targeting one side , why not blame them all.
