This lady did an excellent job in educating folks on spotting a fake knock off. I really appreciate all the things she did to show the difference between the two pocketbooks. Even down to the sounds...for example the sounds of the zippers and the way the lining sounded in the fake. I myself will feel better when I go to shop for my next pocketbook. While watching her video I NEVER felt at any time she was talking down to anyone....she simply wanted to help women know what to look for when shopping for purses/pocketbooks.

i think this video is not to shame folks that cannot afford michael kors but more to advise and tell people that are possibly buying fakes ones for the same price of real ones. There are lots of people out there who sell fakes ones as real and lots of unaware people that doesnt know the difference.

Yes.. I feel so bad for people who buy on eBay and Amazon thinking they are buying the real thing, when in actuality they are spending way too much money for replicas which have been purchased from counterfeiters and are being re-sold in the big online marketplaces.
Susanna Hamilton Amazon does not sell fake Michael Kors bags. Ebay, maybe. Amazon is very strict about making sure what is sold. I see some many commenters including Amazon with other online stores. It s wrong. I would be more cautious over some of these smaller well known websites. I have seen many fakes on those. People want nice things for almost nothing. That seems to be the trend right now. Too bad.

Amazon allows vendors who sell fake things. hair products are notoriously not genuine items.

IMO the big difference is how the bag makes you feel , you know it's fake etc , I wouldn't like to feel fake I would prefer to save and get the real deal :)
dont be fooled as there are fake ones that used the same materials as the real ones. They are called the Class A replica.

I was also considering getting knock off bags since they LOOK the same. . . but saving up for the WONDERFUL quality that a real designer purse has to offer is definitely worth the wait. Awesome tips to know the MK real one against fakes! Beware videos!
Buying knock-offs is something I never support as the money ends up in the underground market, not to mention the difference in quality-fakes are horrible and will fall apart and look cheap and flimsy. Authentic bags will always fetch better resale value, should you decide to do so.
Who would buy a fake Micheal khors bag. They are affordable compared to Channel and Saint Laurence .

If you buy the real deal it's of superb quality and can last you for years. Get the fake one it'll probably last you a year or so and it'll wear and tear pretty bad and you'll soon have to purchase another one. You get what you pay for. Things are not overpriced for no reason. :)

Thank you! My sister just purchased 4 fake purses at a "Michael Kors" outlet, thinking they were real. She had them shipped to her daughter and granddaughters in Hawaii, and was shocked when her daughter called to tell her they were all fakes. Now my sister has to dispute the charges, since the merchandise was sold as authentic Michael Kors. Each purse was $69.95.

How could she not know they were fakes? The price of $69.95 should have been a HUGE clue. Michael Kors only sells to the high end department stores. Small time operators are NOT authorized MK retailers. The best prices you can hope to get on MK bags are when the department stores are having a sale. Macy's recently had 25% off on all MK handbags.
I don't know the first thing about designer purses, and neither does she. The old saying "If it sounds too good to be true..." In her case, she made a costly error in judgment, and won't be buying online again, unless it is from a chain store like Macy's or Nordstroms. Yes, she should have known just by the price, but she just assumed it was less expensive because of low overhead. Her daughter is the designer purse expert, and knew immediately they were fakes.
This definitely helped a lot. I'm very aware if I am buying a MK purse, I know what to look for. I shop at the actual MK store
a lot of people might not agree with me because having a real bag is a symbol of status i guess, but i'm glad there are people in this world making fake ones for $34 dollars. I dont want the bag for the status of looking expensive, i simply just adore the way the bags look, so i dont mind the small errors as long as i get to have the bag- real or fake! even though i'd probably cry my eyes out if someone surprised me with a real one, i'm still very happy with my fake ones

Very late response to an old comment, but the quality of the bag is what you're also paying for. The quality of the real MK bag is going to last years. The fake one will not.

Thanks for the tutorial. I knew, which was fake before you even said it. Lol! There are so many difference between the two and if you are familiar with Michael Kors products it quite easy to tell the difference. I have 3 MK bags and you're right they are very costly, but the quality is great. I also agree with you that it's just better to save money and buy the real deal because the fake isn't going last and by the time you have replaced the fake one so many times you would have spent enough to purchase the real bag. I have currently 7 Michael Kors bags so I found this very interesting. It's so obvious looking at the difference between the two bags. I buy high end bags as investments, I know if I want to ever re-sell I'm going to get a decent price back. The fakes are so shoddily made, I'd much rather just put the money aside for the real deal. One time, when I was in another city/country, I purchased a fairly expensive MK purse for my teen daughter, who loved/wanted higher quality bags and already had her first genuine Coach bag we took her to buy a year or two before. The store offered to wrap this MK bag up for me after I bought it, which I appreciated and I perused other items while it was being wrapped. We learned later that they switched it up with a fake purse... it was quite evident it wasn't the same one we had paid for.
My daughter seemed unusually quiet, not super excited for some reason, after unwrapping this somewhat expensive (for a young teen) Christmas gift she'd wanted, but she didn't say anything to us for quite some time and put it away in her room. We simply thought she was tired that day from the excitement. When I asked how she liked it a week or so later, it didn't take long to learn that the purse was a fake when the cheap zipper broke and the strap was terribly thin and cheap for starters... she had figured it was a fake on Christmas day but thought we knew it but we did not. (We paid for the real deal.) I was both embarrassed and angry when I had learned it was a fake and that the original had been switched out. Be careful and ensure you are buying from a reputable dealer/store.
I don't care for designer bags. I happily buy mine from target so I don't feel guilty when something inevitably happens to it or my tastes change. But I could definitely tell right away that the one on the right was higher quality. Even just the hardware being more square and the way the one on the left looked less stiff. It would be hard to spot a fake but when they're side by side there's no comparison.

I have the black one and there are a few differences like the inside is black and with a different logo and I don't have the two pouches on the inside pocket with the zipper, otherwise exactly the same! Over time the MK bag won't look as structured and worn out. It can wear down and look similar to the fake one. I have a real MK denim Hamilton and it wore down so much and even is ripping :( I I take good care of my bags
You see the difference right away. I have been two times to Asia and I could spot even the fake Louis Vuitton from a distance. I believe that it is always better to buy a bag that you can afford.

Yes.. I see people all the time who obviously just wanted the "look". Unfortunately, they are not even getting that. All they are getting is the look of a cheap knockoff.. not the look of an authentic high end handbag.

I work as a Quality Inspector in a Manufacturing Company here in the Philippines wherein we manufacture MK Bags. The Real one color is Navy or Admiral.
What do you do with the counterfeit/fake item? I know it's not illegal to buy one but it is illegal to sell them. Do you report the companies who sell the fake? Fortunately I haven't ever bought a fake but would love to know what happens when you do get one. Love your videos. Have been binge watching you all week!!

EXCELLENT Review and right on point. This review convinced me to purchase the Selma- beautiful bag. I've also recently purchased the Hamilton in Saffiano leather. My only question is when the leather ages, will the bag loose it's shape? Have you noticed this? The Hamilton large bag does loose it's shape, but it's still beautiful. Not sure how it will look on the Selma.

I've never owned a high end bag and probably never will but I found your video very interesting and know what to look for now when shopping yard sales, thrift stores etc. because you just never know when you might stubble upon a "real" find. To The Mrs. Save your money girl and get a high end bag.. you deserve it! You can always try shopping at some of the online places that sell pre-owned designer handbags. Some people have a bazillion designer bags and may only use them a few times each.. by that time they have tired of them and go buy some more new ones. Happy Shopping!
Here anyway, it's illegal to sell knockoffs as it part of the underground economy. I almost bought a second hand Louis Vuitton bag and I spotted that it was a fake immediately. The guy was selling it as he split with his wife. I told him it was a fake and how I knew it was so, to show him that I was lying to him and to look it up online. It's illegal to passing it off as genuine. Big time frowned upon here. I noticed he had removed the listing by the time I got back home. (is likely why ex-wifey left it there with him)

Another thing u may want to note is that authentic MK bags usually have a tiny tag that is white/clear on the inside seam about 2cm wide with a date code consisting of letters and numbers. It is very well hidden.

I bought a LV used on Ebay, dyed the leather black (handles, piping, etc.) saw how to do it on TH-cam and haven't bought another bag since. Just check the stitching and how it's attached, and don't worry about the rest. Dye it. It looks amazing.

You can find past season/even current season MK bags at TJ Maxx/Marshalls. I saw a Black/White Selma for $199, a snake embossed tote for $99, a Hamilton for $229, checkered Cynthia Satchel for $149, Multi-Function Computer tote for $139, an all leather Bedford around $199, and wallets ranging from $49-79. It all depends on the location of your TJ Maxx/Marshalls.

Imo it depends on who makes the fake ones. There are good fakes and poor fakes. It just depends on who is reproducing them. Micheal Kors are really not expensive enough to get a fake copy of IMO. If you want a high end bag like the Chanel or whatever then it may be worth it for you to get a replica. Its not for me. I don't own replicas or the real ones but to each their own.
i tested a fake mk bag and it ripped apart easily. i gave a small tug and the handle broke.

I sell MK purses on EBay, trying to get women a super beautiful purse that with care would last a lifetime. This is not just a purchase, for many people it is an investment. I have people that are considering one of my items ask me if they are authentic. What are people with fake purses going to tell them? I put a band that can only be removed by shears, I tell buyers not to remove band unless they are totally happy with their purse. I tell them to take their bag to any high end department store that sells MK or an outlet, have it authenticated. I love it when I can supply people with a quality designer bag, most of what I sell are given as gifts. I do not get why people would get on here just to brag about what they have and others do not. But the information about MK purses that will help people not get scammed is much needed. Thank you

Adrian Arambula vs durability. I own a few cheap handbags I buy because I think they look nice, but compared to the durability of my designer bags which are years old and still going strong... the stitching, straps, lining, zipper, etc... break on the cheap bags within a year or even just months.
A designer bag is something you keep for life.
