we were fortunate to have visited this cemetery some years ago and were moved by the terrible toll of young men who lie here along with their general, Patton, the discovery of who's grave brought tears to our eyes, not the least by the discovery of a fresh red rose.
    We recommend everyone should visit.

When I was in the Army and stationed in Germany from '98-'01 a couple friends and I made a "Battle of the Bulge" weekend trip to Belgium and Luxembourg touring the sites of the battle....this cemetery was among some of our last stops on our way back to Germany...it was beautiful and when we were there it was just us, we were all alone and had time to reflect on the sacrifices made by the soldiers who came before us...that trip was the best long weekend I had during my entire three years in Germany...I would love to go back soon and do it all over again.

@@tomjohnson7988 I was born 11 miles to the west of this cemetery in 1950, and my parents took me to Luxembourg not only to show me where I was born, but also to see the sights; among which was this cemetery. There was hardly any other visitors there when we were there in '62. As I recall, all the graves face West, and Patton is in front, facing the graves. I also seem to recall that many or most bodies were transported back to the US per family's request, so these in Luxembourg are only a fraction of all that were killed. Personally, I would have preferred being buried there. All American military cemeteries are absolutely gorgeous.... most particularly the foreign ones.
