Remember when Craftsman tools were all made in the USA and affordable. I do I have complete master mechanics set from the 1970's that cost me as much as one of these Taiwan wrenches. Glad I'm old.
I grew up using my dads craftsman tools. We talked about it he said he never thought twice about it being made in the US he said that’s just how it always was growing up for him and now especially after the pandemic life has really changed. Tekton is my choice for affordable tools I paid I think $140 for their full master 3/8 set now it’s up to $190 the 1/4” I paid $55 for and now it’s $90 in just a few short years so that really goes to show just how messed up the last few years have been especially. I recently discovered a large % of the inflation is from corporate greed.
Damn, these prices are crazy. I'm from Germany and I'm in the process of filling my new tool box for my private garage. Comparing to your prices there, I suddenly feel a lot better :D Mind you, I only order online. We really don't have places here that sell such stuff where I live. And if there are, they usually sell cheap garbage oder expensive garbage...
I wouldn’t consider this normal here in the US if you see everyone else’s comments about the pricing on this new craftsman v series is expensive! These big box stores have a variety from lower end tools to mid to high tier depending on what it is. You just have to see it for yourself in person to understand but we have those cheap places as well. Inflation is out of control as well I was just speaking to my friend in Poland she was telling me it’s not just the US it’s everywhere! One of these days I’ll make it out to Germany just to check it out! I could go on and on explaining prices and brands but I’d end up writing you a whole book. Thanks for checking this out!
Also good luck on your toolbox! My advice would be not to rush just buy quality it will take longer because quality comes with a price but just take your time! I rushed my box I have good stuff but if I took it slow I would have much more USA made items like sockets etc.
@nickshowsstuff435 Yeah, Inflation here hits pretty hard too, but more on food, fuel & every day things.. Car parts are cheaper than before I feel, at least for my Japanese fleet😂 Thanks for the advice, the box arrived today. I don't care much about where the tools are made, as long as they do what they say and hold up. The "german quality" stuff is stupid expensive and works/holds up just like the stuff made in Taiwan :D
@@mtn9494 the Japanese economy is doing terrible. Lots of people are using Amazon Japan to get things even cheaper since the dollar is worth a good bit more now I’m sure the same with the euro or whatever you guys use so that might explain the prices on Japanese items! Some of my best tools are Japanese. Quality wise. And you’re right the Taiwan stuff works just as good I just like to own as much USA made items since it helps stimulate my own economy also keeps more jobs here. There is also some pride for me owning something made locally it just feels good. I’d say USA, German and Japanese tools kind of have something special about them their just the best but buy what you like who cares! That’s exciting the box arrived today! I scratched the front of mine setting it up so be careful😂
@@mtn9494 knipex just in my opinion is a little overrated. It has a massive following in the US. The cobra pliers and the pliers wrench truly are amazing but everything else I can find cheaper. Like am example why would I spend $30 on knipex needle nose when I can get tsunoda Japanese for around $12 with amazing quality!

If the Chinese version is $1 less most are gunna go Chinese it makes no sense. They don’t understand how much better it is to leave the money in our own economy. Let it recycle through American pockets don’t send it overseas! With how things are we have to use some foreign stuff but not everything damn it! The Craftsman "V-series" line is simply too expensive for tools manufactured in "Taiwan and finished in China." If the materials used or design features are in alignment with any other offshore brand, why would anyone pay more for Craftsman than Sunex, Grey Pneumatic, Gearwrench, Capri, Olsa Tools, etc...
I couldn’t agree more with you on this. I do understand inflation is way up but this just doesn’t make sense it’s embarrassing for Lowe’s and craftsman together. I have a feeling those items will be sitting there a very long time!
I put up a tool haul 8 days ago I thought it was some decent stuff it just didn’t get nearly as many views as this. I don’t do it for the views I’m a very small Channel but I’d like to show at least more than a few hundred people😂 if you haven’t seen it and get some time check it out!

I’m in central Florida the space coast! I was told they were supposed to come out in April and stores released them early that’s why they seem so rare. At least that’s what I have been told.
This one is in Rockledge Florida. (Pretty close to the space station that part of Florida). Hate to say it but they kinda push us to buy online with selection and prices but then again inflation has hit everything especially tools. Woulda been pretty cool if you guessed the exact Lowe’s I was at lol

I could probably post a short on it or something since there really isn’t much to show. For $19.98 if you’re thinking If you should or shouldn’t you probably should I mean it’s $20 bucks more of a novelty but it’s fully functional! I’m actually getting some tool box liner tomorrow since HF happens to have it on sale so I’ll add that just for fun. About $6-$7 for the roll it’s more than enough for both of our boxes my mom got one too so I’ll break her off some of the roll. If I set it up nice with my tools it might be worth a full video come to think of it for fun!
Harbor freight certainly has its place! Great jacks, tool boxes and breakers bars etc. my hand tools come from tekton I’m just not fully sold on the icon line. I think they’re just as good as tektons sockets and all that but still.
