I am so impressed with Byron Garcia and the dancing inmates. It has brought unity where there was strife and division. This really should be the direction of the future for rehabilitation.
Best prison warden in history. Calm people with joy and not punishment. He has managed to keep his prison and staff safe with the power of music and dance.
Today I gave a speech for a class about how to improve prisons here in America and half the speech was about you guys. Thank you so much for your work, you have inspired so many people here in America. My father works in a maximum security prison here and I think I'll try to get them to do it there.
I hope you will. I'm Filipino working in medical fields with hard core Inmates sometimes. As a Human Being I don't like the Idea of Chuckles in bed...yes they are hard core, dangerous but looking at this method of Rehabilitating a Human Being is Way better than treating them like an Animal.
@@maayongaga729 AS an international prisoner advocate for OVER 35 YEARS... THIS is exactly what I've BEEN SAYING! Ppl don't even realize that in the US...it's NOT supposed to be a punitive system but a rehabilative one by its own definition AND original guidelines JUST SO YOU KNOW. BUT what happened is that in the 1970s and the 1980s they changed the public's perception OF how crime is to be viewed here AND how the system is supposed to work. But in reality most of the actual written rules hsvdny changed but the general population doesn't know what rights they have AND neither does their families to help fight for them while they're inside. THERE ACTUALLY IS AN INTERNATIONAL PRISONER COALITION. YUP. There is also a PRISONER FAMILY BILL OF RIGHTS. Ppl are unaware of that and these jails AND prisons sure the fuck aren't gonna tell them about it. The main thing that changed the perception of the system and introduced the practice of throwing away the keys aspect of our system here was mostly thru the NON existent War On Drugs. Just so you and others know...crime WAS on the decline fitting that timeframe if you look at the DOJ stats. Also the difference in sentencing structure between cocaine and crack cocaine was a direct shot at lower income communities and it was a direct shot at people of color. It never went after the person who was caught buying it half as hard as it did the dealer. Part of that was that the buyer had money for a BETTER ATTY. A poor person IS a slam dunk for a prosecutor and that's how they move up the ranks quicker by their records of convictions. I've STILL got guys inside for robberies and bullshit drug charges FROM BACK IN THE 1980S OK?
This method of rehabilitating prisoners is so much better than harsh punishment because it is teaching them how to enjoy life and gives them happiness and support.
Seeing the smiles on the guys' faces makes me believe that they can change and i just hope that this place doesn't close so more people can get that chance. :)
Truly amazing! The precision, and. symmetry displays amazing talent... Whoever does the choreography is certainly talented. Obviously only talented criminals are allowed to serve time in this prison. Also almost aggressive positive move on the part of officials. Great video...
Kim Lowe I was thinking same thing about American prisons. Yet, I'm also concerned about how we are a lot more violent as a society. So, wonder how we could implement this as well as many other more peaceful solutions found in other parts of the world
as always, amazing, thanks. And so the solution to their problems was them themselves, to turn from violence between each other to working together forming a whole larger than themselves, i learn a lot from it, thanks
I honestly hope that they would create a choir for inmates as well. I'm sure they would be equally awesome cause everyone in the Philippines likes to sing.
THANK YOU for the speech Mr. Garcia. Thank YOU for sharing this. I pray that each inmate feel the presence of God in there hearts, your program can soften their hearts for the introduction. God Bless you ~ Deb
wooooaaaoooo!!!!! simplemente maravilloso es un excelente trabajo de esas personas q estan detenidas pero q con actividades asi buscan despejar la mente los felicito sigan asi.....
look at the grins on their faces, they seem to be really enjoying it...and hell yeah, why not? the fact they can state non violent incidents in 3 years shows this is a worthwhile use of their time and energy....you cant hurt anyone in the prison, it would ruin your next dance number!
I love the videos that you post. They always put a smile on my face. I am happy to hear that dance helps the inmates with their inner aggressions. Kudos to everyone for a great job on all of the dances :)
It seems like a pretty good way of violence prevention, considering its been 3 years since a violent outbreak there. Plus it is cool to watch keep up the aweomeness
Great Idea for Redemption Sir....I Salute you.👏👏👏👏 If you only know how they treat the Inmates in USA...I'm Filipino but never in my life even think even in the Worst Part of our lives that something good gonna come out from it.
I watched the whole video and did not find it boring or too long; glad I watched the beginning. Fantastic job! Great team work or they would not have been able to pull this off. Okay, on to the next one. I wish I had found these sooner; will be watching these again and again! God bless!
Hahah this WOULD be a good way for prisoners to better themselves..but I think I'd steal to get into this prison on purpose. Just cause it's so fun! :P
Byron you have done such brilliant job with this prison and the people in there god bless you all from uk 🇬🇧 I’m definitely subscribing to your channel this brings me so much joy ❤🙏
what a concept, hope it is contagious to other prisons across the world! 3 years without an incident speaks for itself on your behavioral modification practice! Love it and is great entertainment too!
We need a rating for DOUBLE awesome! What a great story! I hope this travels to ALL the prisons. Nothing short of miraculous. You are sending out a missionary to teach your program in Manilla. Good luck to Mr. Arabo.
Thanks for sharing these videos! I wish every prison in the world should adopt this kind of activity. It promotes discipline, teamwork, cooperation, obedience, and feeling of self-esteem to inmates. This is the real essence of REHABILITATION! Those inmates might be a lot HAPPIER and MORE PRODUCTIVE on a daily basis THAN some PEOPLE who are 'enjoying' FREEDOM!
WOW! Superb! Can you imagine if you give these FILIPINOS a microphone to SING while dancing? Take note: Filipinos really LOVE singing in anyplace at anytime. Keep it up. BLESSINGS !
Byron Garcia... you are brilliant... this is not only dance for discipline, but Emotion is caused by Motionsn ( said Tony Robbins)... and you change the inmates emotion and feeling with Dancing...
I think this is a really positive thing. It gives the inmates something positive to focus on besides violence, drugs and gang crime etc. And its obviously working if the prison hasn't had any violence for three years. It teaches the inmates self- dicipline which they should apply to their lives whilst out.
Hi Sir Byron, This is truly inspirational! I feel really sad for Mr Arabo :-(. But God Bless you all and please continue to inspire the whole world! I am proud to be a Filipino-American!
I completely agree with you, kuya. I completely agree with you. I may not be Filipino, but I admire this. I am a person who loves Filipinos and everything Filipino
Dude, that was gnarly! The tallest guy was playin' all boss. And that guy should've stopped talking a LONG while ago and just let em do their stuff! Plus, I love the fact that they still used the lyrics "She's a real pussy wagon" xD Awesome video overall!!!
I am an Australian of Malaysian origin and I love Filipinos and everything Filipino. All the customers I dealt with are all Filipinos and they were really nice.

I agree with you
They get two cups of rice a day
And if they don't dance, Byron sends gangs to beat them up

I agree too for I was at Marion CI for 9 yrs and they did not have a Dance programme..it would of been nice if they did..
Yes they should....
as always, amazing, thanks. And so the solution to their problems was them themselves, to turn from violence between each other to working together forming a whole larger than themselves, i learn a lot from it, thanks
