    It is amazing what's possible with technology now and how they are able to gather so much information from either ridiculously tiny samples or without even disturbing the painting at all!

      TomHaroldArt Totally agree! I had no idea how small that sample actually is. Fascinating mix of science, art, and forensics.

    Insane to actually see what goes on behind the scenes

      I felt the exact same way. Had no idea just how much they can learn from a sample so small! Pretty amazing.

    Nice investigations if one is a rich connoisseur.But what about the somewhat average collectors who don't possess deep pockets?

      Robert Buchwald hmm, good point. I do know that if you contact this museum department about a possible forgery they would take a look. Otherwise, I’m sure you can find an art expert like someone from The Antique Road Show. Anyway, thanks for the feedback and for watching!

    How do you get into art forensics

    • @artrageousnate
      @artrageousnate  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tiffany Lastinger I asked the same question! Dr. Greg has an extensive background in forensic science, and even teaches classes on it at a local university. He also has a passion for the arts, so he also has a background in art history. Fascinating line of work! Thanks for watching and for the feedback.

    That’s why more forgeries are done if more modern art. Much easier to fake.

      Good point. There is a whole documentary on a lady who purchased what she believed to be a Jackson Pollock painting.The professionals in the end can't decide if it's a fake or not, it's just too hard to tell! Thanks for the feedback, and for watching!

    Easy! If it sells for $450 million it is a fake.
