Reminds me of my third grade teacher, who gave me detention almost each day since I truly didn't know any better due to my autism. Before 2020 that was the worst year of my life.
It seems like a lot of teachers don't realize that children often break the rules unintentionally. They can be forgetful, and scared or nervous. They're not trying to game the system, they're just stupid and small.
I actually thought Dan made up that line himself. I forgot this is the story it came from.

In fifth grade my teacher gave us English homework to do. I decided to get a head start and brought the homework to recess (my grade was growing apart from each other forming cliques, it was either this or play wall ball by myself). But when the teacher collected us from recess, she saw the book in my hands and asked if I did it at recess. I confessed, and after bringing us to the classroom, she walked with me down to the main office, photocopied the page from her teacher edition book, and asked me to stick it in my backpack to take home and do again.
Sounds like a terrible teacher if I am being honest. Just making them scared of school really.
Putting them on the spot, embarrassing them in front of literally everyone, scaring them...
Let's face it, we all had at least one teacher who was like this. I still have nightmares about my 7th grade teacher.

True story, when I was In 1st or 2nd grade A bunch of 3rd or 4th graders were being super mean to the custodian. I do not know why... he was generally chill an well liked... but he was clearly actually getting upset So I gathered up all the toughness I possessed within my 20 pound 6 year old body and went and screamed at like 12 9 year olds to leave him alone... I'd like to say they were intimidated by me... but in retrospect I think it was actually the Vice-Principle who i was walking with that got them to apologize...
Either way the custodian was very moved that I "stood up for him" and he drew me a picture I still have...

This is the one game grumps quote I say ALL THE TIME
I remember being one of 4 students out of a class of 32 who didn’t bring my homework in that day. The teacher lined us all up at the front of the room and interrogated us whilst facing all the other students. When she got to me, she asked “Did you do the work?” I told her yes and looked her in the eyes. It was a lie, but I am a great liar. I was told to bring it in the next day whilst the other 3 students got held back after class for detention. I will always remember that as one of the calmest reactions of my life, even though I lied to the face of my favourite strict bitch teacher. I am so glad I pulled it off because I did not want to lose my place as teacher’s pet.
I'm currently watching the Sonic Boom playthrough for the first time and that series is FULL of classic bits that I didn't know the origin of. It's always a joy when I come across one. Also I'm scarred from Sonic Heroes because every time Arin gets a little too close to the edge during a fight I have a heart attack thinking he's about to fall off.

Isn't it just amazing to you how the internet has made it possible, easy even, for the voice of some random elementary school teacher from New Jersey in the 80s to travel through space and time all the way to Germany in the year 2021 to be granted free room and board inside my head?
I don't remember this story (I didn't watch all of the Sonic Boom play through), but I knew exactly how the voice would sound based solely on how "looooied" was spelled.
If it hasn't been done already, someone really needs to mix this into "Return of the Mack" 😂

I remember in elementary school one of my teachers got really mad at me for lying too, they had me write a letter explaining what I did wrong & then proceeded to tell my parents who also were mad at me, now years & years later i was babysitting my neighbor's kids, I had to drop off one of them at the bus stop & the younger one also rode with me, he had some pizza with him while riding, now I have no problem with eating in my car but I was sure I didn't see him eat it so when we got back to his house & I didn't see he had the pizza when we were getting out of the car I asked him where it was he said he threw it in the trash but we hadn't even left the vehicle, he said he threw it out the window into the trash can 😒, when he went inside I checked the back seat & found the pizza, I don't know why he would lie like that but I guess since I was disciplined for lying when I was little I felt really disrespected too, I don't know if it's a lower dynamic or what but I guess I get triggered like that because for a long time in my youth I was bullied & disrespected
