The fellows that have it say that it is good for flattening out tracks made by the harvester and skidder, too. You saw in the video that they use it to sort logs as they load, and it is indispensable for loading log trucks when you can't take them off the road. They built it from a used fertilizer buggy; it's rough, but it works.
Very efficient operation. What does one do with sickly or diseased deadwood? What were these black oak trees diseased or infected with? Will this oak wood be burned? No more questions your honor.
We heat our home with wood, so the easiest dead wood is burned. We have saved more money over the years burning wood than we made with this little harvest. Do a search for Armillaria and Ganoderma root rots. Those diseases are everywhere, and trees in the red oak group are very susceptible if they lose vigor from overcrowding, old age, etc. You also have to be on the alert for oak-wilt disease, which can really wreak havoc in your woods. Working up tree tops for firewood is hard; it is much easier to drop a tree and work it up without tripping all over the upper branches.
Get rid of that felling head and put a hot saw on it. And when you're skidding hold the logs a little farther back in the grapple and hold it close to the machine it will pull easier. That G-II will pull a lot

i love the prehauler how usefull is it?

The timber is part of our farm. The loggers have been doing this since they were old enough to pull the starter on a chainsaw.
