MAAHAS - Bañamos Festival 'Bayle sa Kalye' 2022 Grand Champion

The annual Bañamos festival held the Bayle sa Kalye 2022 at UP Los Baños for the first time. Barangay Maahas not only holds the title as the grand champion but brought home all the special awards: Best in costume; Best in Street Dance and; Best in Showdown.
The audience applauded the group's well-planned production. The folklore of Maria Makiling and having the golden ginger (gintong luya) stolen by a farmer was executed incredibly. The storyline ended with a celebration as the farmer returned the golden ginger to Maria Makiling and it made everything more extravagant. The group transformed their costumes twice with smooth and nice transition, leaving the crowd in awe.
Pre-competition, the group posted their tagline on social media "De Donde Serpiente" which literally translates to "Where Snakes are From" to tease the crowd. Cleverly used the title of this year's track "De Donde Soy" (Where I'm From) by Thalia, team Maahas really showcased where they're from.
