The way sizing works for Redbacks (and pretty sure all Aussie brands) is that the half size is just wider - not longer. So an 8 and an 8.5 will be the SAME EXACT length. but the 8.5 will be wider.

I hope this is true because I'm normally a US-9 and I ordered a US-9.5 3X-Wide because I have a very wide foot. You've helped tame some of my anxiety on my purchase. I'm so excited and can't wait for them to arrive, my feet and toes have been killing me for too long.

Will always be a redback guy. In 8 years I’ve had 5 pairs killed off I’m on my 6th work pair and have a pair for at home. I run em hard but my knees and back haven’t been sore since. Switching that’s a testament to their quality

Thanks for a great video . These are made using 3.00mm thick NZ Leather , blundstone use 2.00mm thick leather , so a massive difference . I use blunstone gel inserts which are great but these redbacks already have an inch of foam at the heel and the foam runs the entire length of the boot .they do take a couple of weeks for the foot to adapt to the high arch support but well worth the adjustment period .Amazing boots and worth every cent . . Boots Made in OZ using high quality NZ Leather . And the best thing is that the Heel Counter is on the outside between 2 layers of leather so there is no cheap platic heel counter on the inside - which is usually the first part of the boot to wear out .
-- PS - i use a good quality English made wax to look after them , rub it in with a soft cloth

I've been using rebacks as my main shoes for over a decade and I abuse the crap out of them. I used to work in a mineral processing and machine shop site during the day and on friday nights and all weekend I'd work in a deli doing closing shifts and deep cleans they would get soaked in concentrated bleach which did eventually kill them but they'd last about 2 years with that level of abuse before the corrosive chemicals would start to destroy them.
Before that they'd last about 5 years and all I did was wear them everyday, I think I've conditioned them like 3 times in my life and I've had about 5 pairs.
I got my first pair at about 12. Startes wearing them every single day from about 16, I'm 29 now and I've gone through about 3 or 4 pairs. They are practically my only shoe and i just wear them untill the steel caps are showing, the stitching is fraying and the elastic has failed or they've been exposed to industrial strength bleach and cleaning agents for years on end before the leather and glue and everything is completely degraded. This stuff was so strong that a diluted drop on any piece of clothing would completely strip all colour and would burn your skin.
These boots do really hold up to abuse and save your feet and back if you spend all day active. In Australia they start at like $65ish USD on special current exchange rate. I got my last set of steel caps for about $75USD and the price has barely changed in ten years. They are cheaper and better quality than blundstones and are made in Australia where manufacturing workers earn good money.

here to sing the praises of these boots! i wear a size 12us and the 11uk fit perfect. the great barrier soft toe was the boot i went with and didn't want to take them off at the end of the day...and i usually immediately switch into a pair full leather moccasins by ll bean when i do. these boots are quiet too for me that's a huge bonus. nothing gayer than being the squeaky boot guy. my feet aren't as wide as most but this boot has a great toe box with room to wiggle. these boots don't slide around on your foot either they seem to hug just right and feel great going up and down steep ramps and stuff that would usually annoy my toes in a less snug boot. working in an industry that racks up the steps* in a single day i highly recommend these boots. it doesn't get much better for a 195$ price tag and made by one of our brothers in arms. side note a got a bunch of compliments on them though i much prefer a laced boot if we are talking pure* aesthetics. thanks Redbacks

The UK/AU sizing thing is really the only disappointment for these boots. I don't understand why the UK /AU size based shoe manufacturers being so resistant to including length increase in their half size. They only increase width for half sizes. The length increase from full sizes is 1cm, which is too much (as a reference in US-size based shoes have an increment of 0.5cm for length for half size). So if you are in full size uk/au size you are tue lucky guy. People in half size are fk'ed. Some people may say that "just size up and add an insole", but adding an additional insole or a huge orthotic insoles really destroyed the fit of a pair of shoes or boots for me in 99% cases.

I'm really happy to hear that you want to see the other ones through. I really hope not to push consumerism on this channel. Albeit I have a large collection and growing, it is my hope to bring value to others in my pursuit. I will eventually be doing a video titled something like essential 3 boots a guy ought to have, and maybe expand that to 5 depending on his needs. However, I'm not one for unnecessary consumerism. That said, if a gentleman works in an office, not to say he cant have 15 pair and they will last him for the next 20+ years and he can rotate through them. Or, I really recommend that a guy who works construction or in a trade have 2-3 pair so he can consistently care for one while wearing the other to work the next day. Anyway mate, this comment got away from me and got long. Cheers and thanks for watching my stuff.

I see them with a bit more of a foot in the door up in Canada but maybe one day we will begin seeing stores or at least see their boots at Duluth Trading Company or another where USA guys can get in a try them on. At any rate, their returns seem good, so the average guy ought to do ok either way. Cheers.

They fit loose but never feel floppy or like they’re coming off. Worn this type of boot for many years and I wouldn’t recommend them for hiking but as an all round boot they’re great. Very comfortable and not too sweaty because they’re not cinched around your ankles. No real ankle protection from knocks or rolling your ankle but so convenient and comfortable you just end up loving them. Mongrel is another Aussie brand worth checking out.

Reback boots are raw leather, the Redwings dont look like they are raw leather. Most Australian made boots are raw and require a treatment of Dubbin straight out of the box and then every now and then after so the leather doesn't dry out. If you like the Redback boots you will surely be a fan of Rossi boots if you try them out, another great Aussie made boot.
