Thank you for these helpful videos. I managed to figure out most of this through futzing around with the spacemaster function and seeing what things changed colony cost while modifying a planet, but having this kind of comprehensive guide with clear explanations is still really useful and even if I'm not directly benefiting from it as much I'm still really glad it exists to help other people.

Thank you for the kind words it means a lot, more people should try learning on the job but for those that need a helping hand these videos exist

Great video on explaining the mechanics. Would be nice to have a follow up on specific terraforming strategies. What kind of ships/stations to build. Which values to attack first. How to raise/lower each thing.

Well that is one of the reasons am segmenting my playlists up such as terra-forming so I can make more videos on subjects like that so stay tuned more is on the way!

      I agree with this totally.

So to remove hydrosphere, add water vapor to atmosphere?

The terraforming mechanics in C# are just so difficult to understand, and even after watching this video, I'm not really any much further in understanding how it works. I have, in previous playthroughs made some attempts at terraforming Mars, but to me, it is just like a guessing game, in knowing how much to add, or remove from the atmoshpere to actually make it into a breathable, and tollerent atmosphere for humans. I need to see exactly what processes are needed to make Mars habitable for humans. It would be great if the game could tell you exactly what the requirements are to make a certain planet habitable for your race, and maybe, this is something that could be implemented into the game at a later stage.

it is already implemented into the game, go to the economics tab and then go to the planet you want to terraform then go to enviroment and you shoul d see below the colony costs a sheet detailing what your races tolerances are and waht they require, if the planet does not mean within those tolerances then it will not be habitable, (this was added later into development around 1.9.5) so make sure you are on the latest release (1.12)

@@DefranStrategy Thanks, I did not realize this had been already been implemented, and this is going to make things a lot easier. I have started a new game, and I'm currently following through your first LP series, just to get me back into the game again, as I have had a break from it for a few weeks.

      Frigisium it cools a planet

@@DefranStrategy You can also set terraformers to remove a gas, right? Instead of adding anti-greenhouse gas, you could remove the greenhouse gas to avoid adding more atmospheres of pressure?
