Enjoying your video today. My hubby grew up in Ripon CA and spent a lot of time in Modesto and Manteca. His widowed mom sold the farm in Ripon to one of the Van Groningen's. We have vacationed there at least 20 times in our 57 years of marriage. My hubby used to pitch watermelons from their wagon to the semi trailer on their farm when he was a kid!! We watch from Grand Rapids MI.
I love Dougo's comments & reactions! I did not enjoy CA at all when I was there 5 years ago and can't imagine going there now! Give me good old farm fields, gravel roads & no high rises! Had to laugh at Doug's comment about not getting anything out of a sunset. I'm 71 and I get a big kick being able to see a sunrise every morning now. Lol

Try Irish Spring soap to protect your tulip bulbs. Use a cheese shredder to shave the soap bar around your planting. Kept the squirrels away from mine (so far).

I have to Say, Nikki was the Catalyst behind Chet and was Full of Joy for the Larson Family and Trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ always has brought the Larson family closer together. I See Sadness in Dougo and Amy it’s hard to explain in Words, but Nikki’s mark has even Touched myself in That Family and having Faith is all we have in this Life. It’s not money or Stuff. Trust God in all things he Provides for Us!
You should talk about heaven more! I would love to hear how you were saved and put on your way to heaven. Heaven is a real place that people who are saved will go when this life os over here on earth.

Heaven on Earth is what you guys have right now. My wife and I enjoyed Heaven on Earth for about 40 years. Then she went to the real Heaven. Good for her but man do I miss her.

Yes, tulips do keep growing after cutting and they will also straighten up in time instead of arching gracefully. This time of year you can buy tulip bunches (10 stem) in grocery stores and florists, around my area (eastern PA) for around $7-9 As they grow taller, you can cut off a bit of the lower stem as they start to get too wild. When purchasing, select the ones that are not as far along, greener buds the better, they will develop and last longer. Back when I first started working the the florist shop, tulips were only available from maybe Valentine's day and if you were lucky and conditions were favorable maybe Mother's day. Now days tulips are grown in greenhouse conditions on a forcing schedule taking them from cold storage to greenhouse to bloom in a scheduled time. Enjoy! Yes, growing tulips outdoors are mostly an invitation for them turning into a nice tasty treat for the same creatures who enjoy hostas and day lilies...

Doug was talking about color blindness. Has he tried the color blindness glasses? I permanently and totally lost my sense of taste in smell while I was on a fire call. It’s strange that even losing those senses can kind of make you feel disconnected from people a bit. Man do I miss the smell of my beautiful wife.

I live twenty minutes from a small city, and even that's to much. Doug looks more comfortable with you on the camera, i think he's doing good. You cracked me up telling him about the tulips, and then he didn't like that yellow one hanging over by itself. You and Doug are great together, you always make me laugh. Last name's can be a challenge, but sometimes i don't know how people can mess the pronunciation up with my last name. I was born Record, but was adopted by my step dad when i turned 18 (that's a whole other mess), and now it's Hunsicker. If you look at it, it sounds just like it looks, but it gets butchered pretty bad, and i don't know why. I am from CA and now living in OK and you should have gone to Sacramento instead of Oakland it's easier to get around and easier to go where you are at the watermelon farm and there are farms north of Sacramento

I live in the country, miles from town and I love it. I like to travel too. They built a Dollar General store a half mile from my house, and I make the trip there at least once a week. That's about all the travel I need. 😊
