I agree unfortunately, with everyone loving Olicity, they have just thrown Laurel under the bus and not giving her as much screen time and taking the easy way out by not having her there. This was so beautiful and I really dont want you to give up on them, I agree that the writers have messed up Laurel's character and Oliver&Laurel and made everything Felicity/Olicity centric, but *sigh* I will still always love these two and videos like THIS make me remember why I love them. I've shipped these two since the beginning and I have no intention of stop believing in them however the writers are making it very difficult for us. To me Oliver is the confusing one. He does not want to get close to people because of his secret, but still gets closer to Felicity? I am aware of that she knows his secret, but what he is doing is still dangerous so why would they have him have a crush on someone else all of sudden, when the thought of Laurel was the reason he fought to come back. Laurel is flawed as well but I surely believe that the reason is that the writers are trying to make Felicity look better somehow. Plus, they should have never went down the road with Tommy and Laurel. It just felt so wrong and felt like the only reason she started dating him was because he claimed to have change from one episode to another and that he continued pursuing her. I believe that whatever this Felicity thing is, it is only a crush and the writers are only doing it due to their fans. Which is sad. I think Oliver is in denial, and even though he does love Laurel just doesn't have faith that it would work out because of how it has ended in the past. I was watching the scene where Oliver has to choose between Sara and Shado, and I couldn't help but think that if he was to ever be in that position with Laurel and Felicity, I am sure that it would be Laurel he would choose. Just letting you know that your not alone in your thinking, but I am still a believer that something GREAT will happen for the future. Many didn't like Thea at first, but that was because she was lost. However, my expectations on Thea (that she would change and come around) came true. So I believe that this is just a temporary disappointment that will only be a life lesson for Laurel in the future. I hope, as the song say's you're not "giving up" on this character.

Surely, I must admit I agree on your take on season 2. Don't like what they're doing either and I think, somehow, they're not really sure what they want to do with Laurel yet? Maybe they do plan on making her the black canary, just not yet, but don't know what to do with her in the meantime, and they're just putting aside their relatioship that doesn't need to be romantic necessarily, they are important to each other even not as lovers. I think in the second half of season 2 we'll see more of Oliver and Laurel, but I'm really hoping for a better plot for Laurel. I think she could really be a strong character if given the opportunity.
