I guess the one upside with the increase in psychic activity throughout the Galaxy is they don't have to worry about the Golden throne running out of psykers to fuel it anymore
They just have to worry about those very same pykers accidentally splitting the planet in half or something equally catastrophic like tearing a hole into the warp, spawning a daemon prince or something along those lines

I always feel bad for the people that fueled the golden throne
eh it's better than being forced to work in some hive city's factory, dying slowly by having garbage for food, working 20 hours a day or something and having super toxic air to breath. I would prefer the quicker death of being torn apart and absorbed by some dude on a golden chair

@@Lorventus that's the thing about us humans. You have no idea what you are capable of when forced too. You would be surprised at just how much you could survive. The human will to survive and live is insanely powerful.
I wonder if that's why Guliman encouraged the eclisiarchy and the worship of the emperor by preserving the word bearer the anchorite. Because he knew the only way humanity would ever willingly sacrifice billions to a man was if they believed he was thier god

All stories full to bursting with detail, rich lore, and above all so much grim darkness. Very nice framing devices and a narrative that weaves so well with the timeline.

What if the current meta means chaos is winning hard and the next primarchs to appear is actually papa golden himself and its all repeated with the primaris marines trying to exterminate the first born and leading into a new story arc where its marine v marine v everything else?
I like to think the Emperor tried to make Thunder Warriors into Astartes but the survival rate was far to low and to costly to try. I base this on a couple of things.
In the Horus Heresy novels there is a Thunder Warrior that kills a Luna Wolf for his geneseed, to prolong his life.
Old people can become Astartes but the cost and survival rate isn't worth it.
Astartes can become Primaris but again the cost and survival rate is so low.
Thunder warriors were a tool to build an empire; they were used and consumed. There loyalty, duty, and respect is what killed them. Welcome to the grim dark. Atleast we got salamanders.
@@robertpenison9405 Precisely, the Astartes were created to be leaders, governors and soldiers. While the Thunder Warriors were simply warriors, feral and wild. Hell there are even theories that the Thunder Warriors were even stronger then Astartes in terms of brutal strength.

The Thunder Warriors and Mutants stories made me cried inside. While there is a bigger plan, many of the small details that make up the big plan are wrought into ruin and forgotten.

It only becomes more fun whenever you realise everyone is just as horrible as each other say goodbye the morals and ethics because everyone's just after the same thing *pure survival no matter the cost!*
I could have sworn most media now does paint humanity as evil + the anti-hero. Most fantasy is full of anti-heroes and much more written about humanity being parasites than any other aspect.

I still remember the first time i saw the video about the Thunder Warriors, for the whole thing i was on the edge of my seat and after it finished i proceeded to watch it another 3-4 times. It was absolutely mesmerizing.

That's only about the population of a single large hive world (the total number over 10000 years) or a handful of smaller ones. The yearly total isn't even the population of a single Hive on a single Hive world. Probably not even the population of a single lower hive sector.
If Humans are good at anything in 40k, it is making more humans.
Considering that we feed the souls of 3,650,000 low-grade psykers a year to the Emperor, or that we throw the lives of 14 million guardsmen away to take a single Departmento Munitorum supply world back from an apostate cardinal, or any of the countless other tragic wastes of human life throughout the 10 millenia since Horus had his emo phase, it really doesn't matter much. There will always be more humans.

Just hearing Baldermort's stories and voice is a story all its own and I can't wait to hear the greatest highs and the deepest of lows he will bring to us.

After 17 years of being a WH 40k fanatic. I enjoy the small setting stories far more then the large scale stuff. The Grim Dark future is not just the Galaxy wide conflict but a billion small tales of betrayal, suffering, damnation.

In order to truly appreciate the setting, you have to understand that the light and dark are meant to compliment each other. Every tragedy serves to make the noble deeds all the more noble, but every noble deed serves to make the setting more tragic in contrast.

My headcanon is that, just as the ancient mystics supposedly joined together to form the Emperor, all the psykers who are sacrificed to him every day join the collective consciousness that is his soul. Of course, this also means the Emperor effectively experiences death ten thousand times a day. Sucks to be him. Great video. It really got me.
In a universe where the lore is so deep and unfathomable, so much so to the point of being virtually unknowable.... every one of these tales are as good as canon.
