  • #AkshayeKhanna doesn't work as frequently as some of his peers, but he's sped up his process lately. This year he was in "The Accidental Prime Minister", and he's got two more films due to release before the end of 2019. His latest film #Section375, a courtroom drama centered around an investigation into a rape case, tackles the matter of consent and the murky nature of the Indian legal system. Akshaye says the film couldn't be more timely, and he was instantly drawn to it. This interview first aired on CNN-News18 on August 30, 2019.

      @Faheem Gani His answer is very generic and diplomatic. Ofc no doubt that it is the audience who make or break a star but the stepping stone is provided by nepotism. Ranbir, Varun and others wouldn't have become "stars" without that stepping stone and background support. For an outsider it is really difficult to set his foot into the industry let alone bag a role as a lead in a movie. His answer was sugercoated and very wrong.

    • @TheValobalok
      @TheValobalok 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@i_n5771 if you had followed his answer properly & understood the depth of it you couldn't have term his reply as "sugercoated". He was just brutal about telling the nature of the business. He even stated that it is like politics! He is simply implying that as long as audience is not changing their taste of films, the industry never gonna change its nature as well. To put it simply, the offbeat stories like "dil chahta hai" could only have their place in Bollywood when such stories started to do well in box office from 2000 onwards. And that opportunity also could showcase how good of an "actor" actually Akshae is! Now suppose if "dil chahta hai" didn't work well then later on producer of similar offbeat stories wouldn't dare to invest on such films. Indirectly, what he is suggesting that audience should build up their taste of stories first, then the industry will follow accordingly by focusing more on story lines, not on appointing some non-talented "star kid" to attract the mass.

    Akshay, u may not have been successful ( at least as much u r deserving of ) in Bollywood but rest assured that many of us believe that u r a class above MANY.
    We all wish u well.
    Just one personal suggestion. When u wear a hair system ( aka wig for the public) please go for one with a very low density one. Will look so much more real and make the already handsome u several notches more and possibly increase yr success too especially in Bollywood or possibly even in Hollywood ( u would fit in there too )

  • @sarahdiamond1999
    @sarahdiamond1999 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    I loved his take on nepotism. I just wish he didn’t mention Arjun Kapoor lol. Also yes David Dhawan didn’t make Varun a star- but his dad def gave him films like main Tera hero and Judwaa 2 which helped in making him a star. Other stars like sidharth Malhotra who is an outsider doesn’t have these opportunities.

    • @sarahdiamond1999
      @sarahdiamond1999 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sky Scorpio I disagree. I don’t think Sid had many opportunities like Varun has. Just the quality of films Varun is offered is way better. Did Sid ever get offered roles like October or Badlapur? No.. he hasn’t. Karan himself has given better films to Varun than Sid because Varun is an industry kid.

    • @sarahdiamond1999
      @sarahdiamond1999 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sky Scorpio you need to learn how to argue. Personally attacking someone by saying I don’t know the difference and I need to learn. I don’t argue with rude people like you who don’t know how to argue..it’s not that serious. 🙄

    • @nabeelkhann12

      Nabeel Khan that I agree for sure. I rather watch him over Sid because of the talent. Alia is also super talented. But she def has more opportunities than outsiders. I’m not saying Varun isn’t successful because of his talent and fans- am just saying he has better opportunities that’s all.

So people can cry all they want about nepotism but the thing is that it is not new and not only in BW, it was there thousands of years ago and it is here to stay, nepotism is part of life, and I know some will say it is not fair, so deal with it.
