I will say for beginners the 3 pieces of fabric measuring at (17 1/2”x 8”) for the bottom part should add a little slack maybe a 1/4” extra fabric so you have room to sew it that 0.5 inch all the way around. I had to do a few touch ups with a needle and thread but I love it and I’m going to make another for my mom for Mother’s Day.
Love the extra outer strap for sliding onto the handle of your luggage on wheels. Just the perfect bag for travelling. Your finish on all your projects are super!👌

I made this lovely bag yesterday. Thank you very much for sharing this! The instructions are easy to follow, all measurements are correct and the bag turned out great. Learning from my own mistakes, here are a few tips for anyone who wants to make it: 1. Don't take fabric that is a bit bulky. I used baby corduroy and it turned out too thick and bulky. I had to sew the last step by hand. 2. Consider basting. If you don't have pins or clips in the way, sewing is much easier. 3. This project needs ACCURATE cutting of every detail 😂. I'm a bit haphazard - not good!! 4. I like this pattern so much that I'm planning do a floppy version of it, without interfacing or lining, instead using heavy canvas.

Awesome bag and just what I needed! A couple of tips. First, Sewingtimes, would you please add the interfacing to the cut list? It was part way through the video that I found I needed interfacing. Luckily, I had what I needed already. Also, because of the purpose of the bag, I needed to use waterproof canvas. Now, for most of it, this was fine, but at the end, it was super-bulky and hard to manipulate. Just go really, really slow. If you're going to use waterproof canvas, adjust the cuts for half inch seams. This pattern is totally easy to adjust for size, even for us "confident beginners". I adjusted for it to be 2 inches smaller and one inch taller than the demonstrated size. Just be sure you're cutting off/adding in the correct places. Check and check again and you'll be fine. Wonderful beginner bag (as long as you're using something besides waterproof canvas)! Thanks for sharing!

Et quelle bonne idée ce passage pour glisser la poignée d'un trolley ou d'une valise , cela permet d'être moins encombrée ! Les tissus choisis sont très beaux , la toile extérieure a certainement de la tenue . I am currently making this bag now. I just have to put the bottom on the upper bag and attach the lower bag. I chose Eco Canvas for the outer fabric and PUL for the lining as the bag will be for my daughter to use to carry her things to the theater. I am going to put pictures of the finished bag on my instagram with linking your video.
i love this tutorial and i was so excited to make this bag for a trip i have to take . i made the top half and tied it on the luggage i was planning on taking and it does not fit over the handle . i had no idea the handles were different sizes UGH only wish i measured it first no time or materials to make a second one. Guess i will try to finish and use it for something else. thanks for the great video. i am a little nervous about the bottom part with all the tiny cuts and hoping it does well LOL
i finished the bag and it came out great but had to do the last part by hand it did not fit under my machine. I must have been using thicker interfacing than you did. also liked it so much i found a different luggage that it fits over the handle since i will want to travel with this bag. thank you for the tutorial it was a great experience !!!

I just finished making this bag. It was going so well until that last step when you encase the whole bag with the bottom lining piece and sew around. Really difficult to cover the bulk of the bag with that small lining piece and catch the zipper. Maybe if I used ripstop or some strong lightweight fabric it wouldn't have been so bulky. I will try it again with different fabric.

First of all I think you are creative and I love several items on your channel. This bag I am trying first as my sister is a teacher and it would fit perfectly on her cart she uses for school. However I also sell at flea markets and friends and want to know if you would be upset at my using your design. I don't think one should take someone original idea. Anything that is common usage is fine but this and a couple of others are different enough that I wanted to ask. Still making one for my sister. Keep up the great work.
