@scaniaman2006 R620 clearly the truck has either no trailer attached to it or its empty ... the amount of gears he his skipping for such a tiny engine makes it pretty clear
Your videos are great, I am truck driver myself, but we dont have in Croatia much trucks pulling dolly, only standard truck and trailer or solo trucks, although I am pretty much young driver, driving just 3 years I would love to try dolly combination, looks interesting, but I think pretty challenging to reverse in spot :) Keep on with making videos, I enjoy ;)
+DeadNullermand Not sure but I think it is like the gearbox has 12 gears but 2 on each number. etc. 1L=1 1H=2 2L=3 2H=4 3L=5 3H=6 4L=7 4H=8 5L=9 5H=10 6L=11 6H=12 But don't quote me on the.
DeadNullermand Yeah, but high and low is for high or low gear on each gear, the range is only the range of gears. I havn't driven a truck with H/L split yet, only with a range split.
+DeadNullermand +XouZ The split and the range are additional gearboxes with two speeds each which multiplies the gears in the main gearbox. In this case the main gearbox is a 3 speed (+ reverse) H shift pattern gearbox and with the split and range gears you get 3 x 2 x 2 = 12 gears. The range gearbox has a big difference in gear ratio and the splitter is a half gear.
Hello, is it easy to learn the shift pattern on the scania? I've drove Volvo fh16 in my school and the shift pattern in the manual volvo is much more easyer to remember than the scania's shifting pattern.
tryckluft Okay cool, i am droven manual scania too but with empty load so no needed to use splitter much, only high and low range gears. Im not fully aware how the splitter works but if im right you need to put gear to neutral everytime you want to split a gear?
Stiletti89 The range gear changes when you go through neutral postition when changing from low range third gear to high fourth or fourth to third. On the splitter you don't have to move the gear lever, changing from example fourth low to fourth high, just flip the switch and press down the clutch pedal. Hope this makes sense, english is't my native language :)
+axell366 No need to double clutch, all gears except reverse is syncronized. But going from 4th to 3rd could sometimes benefit from double clutching if the gearbox is cold.
+tryckluft with European trucks that have synchronized transmissions, do you use the clutch and shift just like a car? or do you float gears without using the clutch at all like Americans do?
Basically there's a shorter and a longer input ratio for the gearbox. The shorter is the low range, the longer is the high range. There's also a shorter and a longer ratio for the output. The shorter is the low split, the longer is the high split.
0 to 80 in 30 sec is pretty fast! and I am watching this video 7th time just because of the nice engine sound!
@scaniaman2006 R620 clearly the truck has either no trailer attached to it or its empty ... the amount of gears he his skipping for such a tiny engine makes it pretty clear
@scaniaman2006 R620 he is a typical volvo guy .. 😂
He's not even doing a 0-90
@@antonioZaRasFiNaLbOsS max speed limit is 89
@@KuntalGhosh Same as 90
No big difference
Those turbos are AWESOME
excellent. helped me work out which positions my switches need to be in for ETS2.
Hello from Canada! Very cool video, thank you for posting!
After few minutes I understand how it works. I drive only car with 6 speeds :D (Manual) Thanks for upload this. Like :)

this SOUND Turbo :)
DOING my C liciense training now, this video saved me a lot of time
Great, and good luck!
I like that so much, now if you'll put another video of a 12-gear P420 pulling a heavy load
I love scania trucks especially ones with a Manuel transmission
Manual transmissions are the best!!!! And anyone who's really determined can easily learn how to work the clutch and drive one.
I learnt on a stick. Best experience ever
Manual car 😁
Manual truck 😳
the video is well organised well structed well err thing
great video
At 1:02 when you changed from 6L to 6H, did you just clutch it to get it to change gear?
+Lex Taylor The button on the stick is can be set to high or low at any time but the gear is only changed when the clutch is pressed.
what does the "split" in gearing?
sorry, im not really a truck-guy
+DeadNullermand
Not sure but I think it is like the gearbox has 12 gears but 2 on each number.
etc.
1L=1
1H=2
2L=3
2H=4
3L=5
3H=6
4L=7
4H=8
5L=9
5H=10
6L=11
6H=12
But don't quote me on the.
XouZ it would make more sense for the "range" button. you know, short range/high range in car gearing?
DeadNullermand Yeah, but high and low is for high or low gear on each gear, the range is only the range of gears. I havn't driven a truck with H/L split yet, only with a range split.

tryckluft Basically exact what I said, thanks for confirming my theory.
Next week I'm getting the opportunity to drive a Scania R420, looking forward to that :D
Effen Bamm How did it go?
The gears were sloppy af as it was old, but went okay XD
Great video

Stiletti89 It's basically the same, but Volvo has the 1 and 3 gear forwards instead. Like vertically flipped.
tryckluft Yes they are kinda identical though the gears are likely vice versa. Do you know does the P series have 8 or 12 speed transmission?
P series can have 8, 12, manual, opticruise or full automatic.

Thanks a Lot its a very good video very helpful thanks...
Skip gear depent to your weight and rpm
This truck has 6 low split and 6 high range?
Exacto
Hej, vägen ser mycket bekant ut där vid sjön, är det strax söder om Tingsryd?
Hälsningar från Nya Zealand
Nej det är vid Hok
Looks pretty easy to me. Even me which I am only 23 yrs old and never driven a truck could shift these gears. I want to learn!
it's easy because is synchronize...
hell i'm 16 and even 18 speed eaton fullers don't look complicated for me
The only difference between 18 speed Eatons and this is that Eaton's 4 gears on each ranges, while the GRS has 3 gears on each ranges :)
It looks easy, but when you first start out, it's tricky to get used to the low-high range :P
Does it go by pushing straight to 1 to 2. 3:03
so thats 24 speeds? Im aware some are same ratio but technically.
12
Thank you that's very educational
is that safe to skip gear?
+Yansen Haryanto (yansenharyanto) No problem, saves fuel and work.
tryckluft owh, okay...
Yea, I normally shift it as a 5 speed
you dont really use first gear if the truck is not heavily loaded or going up a steep hill so u go 2-3 depends on rpm and load 4low 5high and so on
2:03 what means that green symbool? kickdown?
bas damen Gearbox low splitter
Ok.

do u still have to do duble clutch ? most of the us trucks you do or i think you do like match rpm for the gear ?
No, all gears except reverse is synchronized, but maching rpm helps to get a smooth gear change.
Is this gearbox synched? Didn't hear him rev match.
Yes it is
Thanks for the reply.
is it normal to use the clutch in these trucks ?
It is a manual transmission, so yes..
do u double clutch, this transmission confuses me a bit compared to Eaton Fullers one lol
+axell366 No need to double clutch, all gears except reverse is syncronized. But going from 4th to 3rd could sometimes benefit from double clutching if the gearbox is cold.
+tryckluft with European trucks that have synchronized transmissions, do you use the clutch and shift just like a car? or do you float gears without using the clutch at all like Americans do?
nuke mecca Using the clutch every time just like a car.
What does the blue sector on the tachometer mean?
The exhaust brake is more effective in the blue section and above.
Splitted 6 is higher than full 5?
Yes it is
can you take a photo of the decail only? for and send it to me ? i replay the email when u se this
+Andreas Damhaug What is a decail? The gear stick?
yes. adamhaug50@gmail.com, that on the top, where it stand, 3 4 etc
What means high range and high split?can anyone tell me???
Basically there's a shorter and a longer input ratio for the gearbox. The shorter is the low range, the longer is the high range.
There's also a shorter and a longer ratio for the output. The shorter is the low split, the longer is the high split.
Which country?

It's telling about the gear shifting for the Scania
is this a 13 speed?
12 speed (3*2*2)
ah its a company that makes a simular product for ets now, getting it for birthday ( gearbox), (search skrs csio)
so sooo good
Awesome

Scanias gear boxes are stupid why they are not normal like in volvo
You are just too dumb to learn them ;)
