This song will always remind me of skating downtown and getting into stupid shit as a teen. This guy has been an anthem for my life every step of the way.
"Froze the hideous image like Hasselblads"--finally! I listened to this song for years and couldn't figure out what that word was. Hasselblad is a brand of camera. Finally makes sense. The lyrics in this song are so dense and rich with meaning. Dope as fuck.
This song was in an old skate video I had on video tape I used to watch all the time. It was called "Current Status", pretty sure it was from Status Skateboards. Anyway, love this track.
Aloysius X Actually, I was just reading about this study. He about doubles shakespeare on unique words. It's hard to quantify, but somebody honestly did it.
@Bryan O'Brien You can't relate the two. We've inherited words directly from Shakespeare. Aesop and Shakespeare are metaphorical "Lou Tzu" but Aesop doesn't top Shakespeare in a sense of "unique words". Shakespeare literally conceived words we associate with today. It's erroneous to say Aesop has a broader vocabulary because Shakespeare is a major counterpart in the English language. He contributed to etymology. Aesop is no charlatan for he is a literary genius as well, but don't make the comparison.
Cracked.com made the comparison. granted, Shakespeare coined a lot of words that we wouldn't have with out him. However, if you look at the number of unique words they used (only count each word once) Aesop dwarfs shakespeare, without coining. Granted, more slang and pop culture to work with to help that number out, but the fact still remains. Aesop has used more words than shakespeare, even though shakespeare wrote more words.
English language has probably grown over 200% since the days of Shakespeare. It's really not a good comparison. As I've said before, we've inherited words from Shakespeare. Do you really know anything about etymology? Its preposterous to make this comparison.
From an etymological standpoint it's an illogical correlation. The article is stating hoopla and is misguiding. In the context of literary geniuses, that's the only comparison. Two individuals almost three and a half centuries apart, shouldn't be put into this sort of unintentional pretentious quarrel.
This song was in heavy rotation when I first got into Aesop. Lately I’ve mostly been listening to whole albums regardless of what genre I’m listening too. Totally forgot about this joint.
how come aes' voice fades out after the beat drops? i can barely hear him :c now that thats said and done, jesus H fucking christ on a god damn unicycle this fucking song is the essence of epic..
