    I'm so glad you take notice of Ningen Isu Ryan. Without them we cannot consider Japanese metal/rock as complete. Purity and old school charm. They deserve more recognition outside of Japan. I am one of the fortunate ones who saw them live, in Tokyo in 2012. A jawdroppingly awesome gig, and they play marathon sets too. Another H.P. Lovecraft homage of theirs that's worth checking out is "The Colour out of Space", a masterpiece indeed. And for pure oldschool kickassery must check "Life for Sale" too....oh, and always have the translation on too, their lyrics are pretty profound. Pure class in every sense....I mean where else do you get a traditional poet, a Buddhist monk and a Yakuza wannabe rocking out hard!?

    11 minutes that goes by too fast. Absolutely love this song/story.

      @@RyanMear for me, after a few years of almost exclusively listening to Japanese music it finally dawned on me what’s so amazing-interesting about it. I’m thinking in the 80s the Japanese music scene threw away the book of rules that the rest of the worlds musicians are following. That explains how the likes of BM, MTH, Ningun Isu and SOKONINARU can consistently make innovative music, (not to forget the more off beat YOUSEI Teiko or Zutomayo)
      And every day is a good day (musical wise) as there’s always something new

    Wow thank you for reacting NINGEN ISU!! They are one of my top 5 bands!! I've never played a theremin, but it's one of the instruments I'd like to try if I get the chance xD

    Total masterpiece, this band is so great. The meaning of the song is wrapped in the mythos of Cthulhu. Cthulhu is a H.P. Lovecraft horror being that drives people mad.

    Speaking of which, unfortunately it looks like we can no longer watch the crazy guitar fight between Wajima and Kanami, where they manipulated paper craft wrestlers with the output of their electric guitar playing.
    It was from a program on the public broadcasting channel dealing mainly with educational programs (NHK Educational TV), very educational indeed lol.

      I have seen that! That was great fun🤟

      @@RyanMear Yeah, and also, Wajima made a guest appearance on the Rock Fujiyama Channel in May, discussing the (distorted) guitar sound in Japanese music with a regular cast member, Marty Friedman. The YT auto-subs aren't much helpful, but it's interesting.

      I watched that too! LOL Been a Friedman fan for a long time, so that was cool... even though it had bad translations

      @@RyanMear Oh, wow. It seems that Marty will be performing with the symphony orchestra this Saturday in Kyoto, playing an arranged version of Dvořák's "America".

    When I was a teenager I built a theremin out of 2 old radios. It's 100x harder to master than it looks 😀
    Try "the caterpillar" from them ^^

    I understand this a reaction/live review of a song, but you talk way too much and worst you're inerrupting the song each and every 5-10 seconds, it's almost impossible to know what you're listening to.

    • @RyanMear
      @RyanMear  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suggest going to watch the original video👍

    • @Wagoo

      Talking and pausing is fine for a reaction.. it's a reaction. However skipping FORWARD in a song you're hearing for the first time I find very bizarre

    • @RyanMear
      @RyanMear  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually explain why during the reaction. I had limited time and I didn't want to take up 3 songs worth of time with one. I love Ningen Isu, but there were obvious slow parts that I didn't feel like waiting on. Some of hese were Mearcord requests that have been there a long time with 1 or no votes. They would never get done if I did them one at a time, but I still wanted to get to them. I didn't like skipping through either, but I explained all this in the video.

      @@RyanMear that makes sense in the context of some twitch stream you've been doing for 5 hours or whatever.. or if you're on your own with nobody watching.. trying to determine if you like a song or not.. but it just comes off as weird here

    • @RyanMear
      @RyanMear  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was taken from a live Twitchstream... there are 18 other videos I did the same night.
