- The IS-7 is a gift Rank V Soviet heavy tank with a battle rating of 8.3 (AB/RB/SB). This tank was introduced in Update 1.79 "Project X" as the main reward of Operation S.U.M.M.E.R. 2018 event.
The IS-7 is the culmination of decades of heavy tank development by the USSR, combining distinctive features of previous iterations of the IS series with more modern technology like an assisted loader. The IS-7 is the ultimate 'super-heavy tank', rivalling the Maus and E-100 in pure survivability, with a massive 130mm naval gun. Nigh impenetrable from the front, even with all but the highest penetration HEAT rounds and ATGMs, this behemoth is more than capable of standing its ground at 8.3 when played correctly.
The IS-7 looks quite similar to the IS-3 and T-10M, however due to the assisted loader and much heavier armour, the turret is significantly longer. It has machine guns strewn all over the hull and turret, and a distinctive gun with a perforated cylinder type muzzle brake. Its' top-mounted 14.5mm KPVT machine gun is on an extremely tall spindle mount.

This thing has such good armor that even some APFSDS, HEATFS and APDS rounds cannot pen it and it was created on 1945, absolutely insane!

It was designed in 1945, and only ever existed in prototype form, if i remember correctly the russians chose to go with T-10 instead.

This thing is pretty much the pride of my entire collection in wt, I bought it at £200 ish, now it’s like ultra expensive and rare, it’s so dam good I love it! Fast, maneuverable, great gun, great armour. This thing is just so much fun

@@xuyingxiang5016 it’s really not though, apfsds can sneeze on it and kill it instantly. It’s mobility and firepower are it’s only selling points. Even if I owned one I still probably wouldn’t play it much just because it’s not all that effective. You have to get the right br, good team comp ,and a suitable map
True. If you get into matches against for example Leopard A1A1 or TAM you have to play it like a medium tank with no stabilizer. At that point you cant count on your armor anymore
@@Nukenus Same situation when I play the 279, it’s basically a slightly slower IS7 with a stabilizer at 8.7. If I’m uptiered the armor isn’t going to work. If I’m at 8.7 I have to hope I’m not fighting Germany. Overall just like the IS-7 I have to play it like a medium tank

@No Yep, you are right. It was the Cent that smoke shell. That's a bad feeling when you have shoot smoke or HE on accident. All you can do is say, "oh, I'm dead" and wait for the inevitable.

The lack of stabiliser on this heavy tank compensate its ridiculous armour that it can bounce apfsds, apds, and heatfs even on its weakspots

Tbf if this thing did see service it likely would’ve served for many years because no tank could penetrate it for years and it’s gun is phenomenal

Is this tank still worth buying if I want a armor meta tank? Can it stand up to HEATFS and AGTMs?
Nope. A good player will aim for the turret cheeks and kill you with HEATFS. It does good against apds though. And if the enemy aims for the hull with HEATFS only your driver will die. It faces APFSDS when uptiered though which nullifies its entire armor. Also not to mention its crazy expensive right now. Like 700$?
