I'm so sad that the great gospel artists have left us. They offered more than great vocal ability and great songs with great melodies and meaningful lyrics...they demonstrated holy living when not "on stage". They honored God and respected their audiences. We need that kind of music back in the church. Too much entertainment and hip hop has just about ruined our legacy of great gospel music.
Sometimes it is good to travel back in time and enjoy the praise thru these precious singers. Chaplain Hope, Lord take my hands. God's training is to prepare us for the next Victory!
This performance is a personal triumph for both DeLois Barrett Campbell and for Charles Pike, the gospel piano accompanist. Like Mahalia Jackson said of DeLois' voice: "It opens right up like a rose."
I wondered who this great pianist was. The Barrett Sisters are so Spirit-filled, beautiful & have such exquisite voices. Seems like all the Gospel Greats are leaving us. They will never be replaced.
Charles Pikes is their Pianist in this video. He was high spirited and much admiration. The Barrett Sisters talked highly of him. They said he was the best out of all their musicians. R.I.P Delois Barrett Campbell, Billie Barrett Greenbey and Charles Pikes..
What a blessing! - Thanks for sharing! - Sis. Deloris is greatly missed, but I know that she is still singing His praise in that wonderful eternal home! - God Bless
God blesses these sisters with great beautiful sounds from their voices!!....God gives them recognition and that's all that matters!...the world can go to hell!!...who cares about what the world think, God is the only person that matters and what He thinks about you and I!!
I am completely in agreeance with you they neveer recieved waht they truly deserved and it is sad Delores and her sisters are true legends in their own right and I love them
They never recieved the credit that they deserved and many young people have no idea as to who they are. Before The Clark Sisters, God blessed us w/The Barrett Sisters and there is nobody out there that has better harmony to this day than these 3 young ladies and Delois (the lead singer) is about to be 82 and the others are about to enter their 80's!!! Check out there other clips on here with them singing, "Till we meet again", "Jesus Loves Me", "I'll Fly Away", "I've Gotta New Home" & Ohters!!!
I❤❤❤I have read that the great Mahalia Jackson was one of her mentors and at one time they lived in the same neighborhood in Chicago. Also, they lived in the time of the songwriter Mr. Dorsey the father of Gospel basically n who wrote this and MANY MANY prolific famous gospel songs who was said to also live on the Southside of Chicago as well. . TH-cam has them all over!! Praise God. I just found them yesterday n I feel their power and exceptional anointing n unmatchable. voices...i.e. The Barrett Sisters!🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
