    You sold this on Ebay not too long ago with an accompanying coach! (I recognize the cargo in the door) I lost out on it but you inspired me to build my own Dead Rail Version with a Bumble Bee one and a coach I aquired. Nice Job!

      Well... We are out of the house, and at “Garage-Mahal”, which is our hobby shop. LOL! We would LOVE to go out and see something new! However... A little over a year ago, a pandemic by the proper name called Covid 19, came and caused our country to go on lockdown and quarantine. Fun events that Dale and I did prior to Covid, have been canceled. As of date, they are still not ready to set any schedule. Both Dale and I have decided that we would not travel, until we are both fully vaccinated. Covid is very real for me... Seven people that I know from the small rural community where I lived, are dead now from Covid. One of which was a beloved doctor!
      Dale and I plan on traveling as soon as we can! This situation has been hard on many. We feel grateful that we each have hobbies we can enjoy, until it’s safe to be out and about. Thanks for watching!

    The Delton Doozie (1:24) was made from their existing shorty combine (not the one shown in video) with the front 'hood' of their mack switcher which was still in development. An outside contractor tooled up the Mack bulldog hood but Delton went bankrupt and Aristocraft purchased it's mold along with other models. Hartland who also purchased some of the other molds, later had to retool the hood again themselves to finish developing the Mack switcher. Read the story of Delton - Hartland below. As already stated, their molds went to various manufacturers such as Hartland Locomotive Works and Aristocraft classic series (1:24). npcrr.com/Articles/PhilJensenStory/ThePhilJensenStory.pdf

      THANKS. I have read that article many times. Love it. Love Delton. Also have the books by Lenny Sloboda. Anyway, Im thinking the Mack bus and the switcher used the hood and radiator from the Monogram model. Don't know but I assume the pattern models were made in 1:1. In the large scales that is usually the case. HO is often patterned in 1:29 scale, or 3 times the size that will be tooled into the molds. This is why Aristo picked 1:29 scale for their large scale models. The Polks bought the pattern models and tooled in 1:1 on the pantorgraph. ANYWAY, Im betting when making the wood-plastic-brass pattern models, Delton (or the company developing their molds?) simply bought some Monogram models and used the hood. Then the molds were tooled on the pantograph at 1:1 making 1:24 scale models. Perhaps not. But as the Monogram is great, why not use the hood? We have a Metal Earth stage coach which is made from a Artesania Latina wood model. the same right down to the baggage. But 1:3 the size.

    • @ToyManTelevision
      @ToyManTelevision  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      PS. I assume Monogram patterned the Mack Trucks in 1:8 scale as that is their normal system. Then pantographed at 1:3. 1:1 often doesnt make for great detail. So again, those 1:8 scale patterns are out there somewhere... so could Delton have used them? Or statred over using the Monogram as referance?

    I’m wondering if battery power with radio control is in the future for other scales. There would be cornfield meets of course but not much need for track cleaning.

      Hes had some close calls.... Sad..... poor little guy... Now Sponge Bob! He's always getting hit by trains. Metaphorically speaking. One of my faves is when he sets fire to himself and burns off everything except his nervious system. As a Hallwoween costume. As he pointed out, it grows right back. Cartoons are indistructable.

    Hartford have nothing to do with it. The original Delton model has a weak drive only rotating one axle. The bolster is prone to breakage too if not careful. Hartland's Doozie which uses the same molds looks the same but has an improved drive block. Aristocraft also made a doozie which is longer. I prefer the Delton/Hartand model though.

    • @ToyManTelevision
      @ToyManTelevision  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, Hartford was an oops... Hence the title card. Oops... The Aristo used the Delton front stuck on one of their passenger cars. Just as the Delton used a front that stuck to their short cars.

    Are only the front power axles powered or both rear wheels

    • @ToyManTelevision
      @ToyManTelevision  ปีที่แล้ว

      Only the rear wheels are driven. Power pick up from all of the wheels. When I ran one of these, I put it on battery power. Worked great that way.
