This goes for those with rocky relationships, too. I lost my dad two and a half weeks ago and he wasn’t a great dad tbh. Always made me promises he never kept, best me here and there, had to tell me about his drug problem, lied to me over the phone about while being obviously high. But he went through some kind of crazy trauma as a child and never got help for it. He never had a chance. When he died, he was starting to get better. Had stoped using, had a steady job, and he made enough money to support his mother. Then while driving an 18-wheeler for work, he swerved to avoid a truck driving the wrong way on a one-lane bridge, and my dad went over the bridge and died at the hospital. We found out later that there had been a van with kids behind the pickup truck. My dad purposely drove himself off the bridge to avoid killing the idiot pickup driver and the family in the van. He was a good man who had a lot of demons, few of which were his fault. It made our relationship rocky for sure, but I loved him dearly and he loved me more than the whole world. Having a bad relationship doesn’t make the pain any easier.
My aunt passed away this week and my cuzins are taking it really hard. We'll we all are but this song reminds me of my aunt. I love you aunt Tammy and I miss you dearly you were like my second mom. ❤

I know how you feel.. It's been 10 years on October 3rd of my dad's passing and 8th of barring him on his birthday. I was the one who last spoke to him, found him, and last heard from him before he passed away over the heart attack in his sleep. It was also the same year I graduated high school. I just found this song a couple of days ago. Found out my Dad passed away almost 3 WEEKS after he did. My family had estranged from me (Dad, 1/2 Sister initially and my only Son and Mom followed along) ...my grief was exacerbated by millions !!! This July 37. 2024 will be 3 years he's gone. I grieved the relationship we never fully had along with questions about what we did have. My Son & Mom have since reconnected and she hates "hugs" and my Son is very distant and troubled in his nature still. I pray always for God's will.
I found out in an email that my father had passed. I hadn't spoken to him in almost 3 years. He was a bad man so I cut ties with him but my grandfather emailed me and I accidentally stumbled upon this email 2 weeks after he had passed. No love. No loss. But a few years later my mom was diagnosed with stage IV cancer esophageal and stomach cancer which metastasized to her lungs. She fought so hard for 2 years but eventually passed away June 28th 2020. This is the hardest month for me. It'll be 4yrs my mom has been gone on this June 28th. She was only 56. Just turned 56 on June 6th just to pass away 22 days later. That was the hardest loss for me. This has always been our song. I live in Florida and she did too her whole life but State of Florida wouldn't help her with her chemotherapy and radiation so she had to move back to New Jersey to get emergency Medicaid and get treatment. That was hard being so far away for 2 years but she was so strong she got on an airplane to visit me in FL every 6 months. 3 times. That June she was supposed to visit for the 4th time but I knew in my heart that Christmas 2019 was our last one together. 😞😔😢😭😭😭🥹

My moms parents both passed away in 2020. Her mom passed in January of an unexpected accidental fentanyl overdose in January 2020 and her dad couldn’t take it they met in 8th grade so he basically drank himself to death and he passed away last October. All these comments are so true. I lost my dad back in 1997 and my beloved mom 2010. It feels like it was yesterday. I know people really don’t care for unsolicited advice from strangers. But here it is anyway. Read the comments and take them to heart. I wised up and the last 5 years my dad was around we ate lunch together everyday. It was always freshly deep fried chicken. We became very close again. We ran a very successful business and I was with him there for 35 years. My mom. Well when my dad passed somehow she got through that. She was a tough one. She couldn’t sleep at night and I worked nights when the schedule required that. On the nights I didn’t work I would go to my mom’s house and play scrabble with her until literally the sun rose. I miss those moments with both of them. But I am so thankful I spent as much time as I could. My advice make the time to see them. I believe you will make memories and find out about things you never knew they lived through. That’s it.

My 38 yr old son committed suicide almost 4 years ago.There isn't a day that goes by they l wish that l could see them both one more time to tell them both how much l love them and how much l mss them. Not because he was a pos runaway but because he was working long days at the hospital he worked at and long nights at the fire station. I still remember going out in working in his wood shop with him once a month or so. He resigned from the service a few years ago. He says it’s the best thing he’s ever done because now he can come home and stay home once he’s don with his day job and can spend time with his family.
I lost my 19 year old cousin in Florida. I live in ohio. As soon as we heard we booked a flight and left. Everyone was devastated. He was the life of any party and brought joy to everyone. He even saved a girl he didn't even know from committing suicide. He was known for his back cracking bear hugs. There was over 600+ people at his funeral. I barely ever got to see him and I wish I got to a little more. I want everyone to always wear there seatbelts and use your time wisely and spenda lot of it with your family and friends because you never know when you could lose someone.

I’m sorry to hear that. I know it’s really hard losing a friend. One of my best friends almost took their own life away. I was so scared. There was one point when she was in the hospital from cutting herself where they thought she wouldn’t make it. She lost a least 3 liters of blood and after she got out and I saw her at school I started crying because I blamed myself. Things are getting better for me now and I hope they are for you too.

This goes for those with rocky relationships, too. I lost my dad two and a half weeks ago and he wasn’t a great dad tbh. Always made me promises he never kept, best me here and there, had to tell me about his drug problem, lied to me over the phone about while being obviously high. But he went through some kind of crazy trauma as a child and never got help for it. He never had a chance. When he died, he was starting to get better. Had stoped using, had a steady job, and he made enough money to support his mother. Then while driving an 18-wheeler for work, he swerved to avoid a truck driving the wrong way on a one-lane bridge, and my dad went over the bridge and died at the hospital. We found out later that there had been a van with kids behind the pickup truck. My dad purposely drove himself off the bridge to avoid killing the idiot pickup driver and the family in the van. He was a good man who had a lot of demons, few of which were his fault. It made our relationship rocky for sure, but I loved him dearly and he loved me more than the whole world. Having a bad relationship doesn’t make the pain any easier.
My aunt passed away this week and my cuzins are taking it really hard. We'll we all are but this song reminds me of my aunt. I love you aunt Tammy and I miss you dearly you were like my second mom. ❤

I was very close to my granny. She was my best friend and my #1 fan no matter what. Even when I wasn’t doing my best in life. I miss her so much and it has been 3 years almost but I really hurt just as much today as I did three years ago IF I allow myself to think about her. I just have to force myself not to honestly because I could get depressed if I let myself go there too often.

I just found this song a couple of days ago. Found out my Dad passed away almost 3 WEEKS after he did. My family had estranged from me (Dad, 1/2 Sister initially and my only Son and Mom followed along) ...my grief was exacerbated by millions !!! This July 37. 2024 will be 3 years he's gone. I grieved the relationship we never fully had along with questions about what we did have. My Son & Mom have since reconnected and she hates "hugs" and my Son is very distant and troubled in his nature still. I pray always for God's will.

He was a bad man so I cut ties with him but my grandfather emailed me and I accidentally stumbled upon this email 2 weeks after he had passed. No love. No loss. But a few years later my mom was diagnosed with stage IV cancer esophageal and stomach cancer which metastasized to her lungs. She fought so hard for 2 years but eventually passed away June 28th 2020. This is the hardest month for me. It'll be 4yrs my mom has been gone on this June 28th. She was only 56. Just turned 56 on June 6th just to pass away 22 days later. That was the hardest loss for me. This has always been our song. I live in Florida and she did too her whole life but State of Florida wouldn't help her with her chemotherapy and radiation so she had to move back to New Jersey to get emergency Medicaid and get treatment. That was hard being so far away for 2 years but she was so strong she got on an airplane to visit me in FL every 6 months. 3 times. That June she was supposed to visit for the 4th time but I knew in my heart that Christmas 2019 was our last one together. 😞😔😢😭😭😭🥹

All these comments are so true. I lost my dad back in 1997 and my beloved mom 2010. It feels like it was yesterday. I know people really don’t care for unsolicited advice from strangers. But here it is anyway. Read the comments and take them to heart. I wised up and the last 5 years my dad was around we ate lunch together everyday. It was always freshly deep fried chicken. We became very close again. We ran a very successful business and I was with him there for 35 years. My mom. Well when my dad passed somehow she got through that. She was a tough one. She couldn’t sleep at night and I worked nights when the schedule required that. On the nights I didn’t work I would go to my mom’s house and play scrabble with her until literally the sun rose. I miss those moments with both of them. But I am so thankful I spent as much time as I could. My advice make the time to see them. I believe you will make memories and find out about things you never knew they lived through. That’s it.
