I can get my tr8s pattern to play by pressing start/stop on the tr8s, but then I can only hear the 808. If I want to start Ableton's clock and have my tr8s pattern play on the 808 cloud, how can I do this? Right now if I press play, both the tr8s and the 808 cloud pattern play at the same time. I need a way to disable the 808 cloud's pattern. Is this possible?

I was given them by Roland at a trade show some years back. Chroma caps do not work properly, as they sit too high or rub against the faceplate.

Thank You! This is cool, but it isn't exactly clear to me why you would want to do this - don't we have all the same sounds already available natively in the TR-8S? Sorry, not trying to be a pita but I am a little confused of what value this brings?

There are a few benefits. First, using a vst is simpler than running separate channels for all the drum on your TR-8S. There is also zero latency. Plus the tr-808 vst is 5he closest you will get to the original sound and behaviour. Another benefit is that you can create patterns on the vst and transfer them onto your TR-8S. This means that you can make beats on 5he go and put them on the TR-8S in the studio. There is also a lot more tweaking on the vst. My main reason for making the video is because it was requested by the cloud users.

Does The TR-8S have the ability to sample directly into the machine and also does it have a song mode . Song mode is the feature that I want the most.

No direct sampling, and hopefully a future update will give us song mode. As it is currently, the tr8s has no song mode.

Works with other vst? Like synths

I'm sure it's map-able. I was just asked to do it for the roland drum machines. I'll play around with one of the synth vsts.

Why the heck would you want to? The 8S has an 808 built into it.

@@Flashback_Jacksome people just want hardware control of their VSTs. Roland contacted me and said a lot of users of the VST wanted external control.
