My dad had all his records, played and recorded reel to reel all the time, I’m 62 now and feel blessed and privileged to have been introduced to our Lord Jesus Christ through the reverend Maceo Woods.....and my dad... step to Jesus!
I had not heard this song since I was a little girl we sung it at New Hope Baptist in South Bend, IN . I had to send to my siblings. It reminded me so much of my mother *tear as she drug all 9 of us to church in our white blouses and shirts and dark bottoms. Hallelujah Jesus!!! She made sure all of us were introduce to Jesus before she went home to Glory..
Elder George Allen Jordan penned this powerful song. Continue to Rest With Jesus, sir. You touched my life and watered God's gift of song in my life. Thank you.
I came here because the writer of this song, our Minister of Music Elder George Allen Jordan, had just passed away. Thanks @jholyghosthead for posting.
Hallelujah Amen 🙏 God is Good all the time Hallelujah Amen 🙏 🙌 thank God for Jesus I have been looking for this beautiful song for a long time thank you Lord Jesus 🙏 🙌 ✝️
Back in the day I could get my grandmother folded into one low sports car or another and take her to hear Rev. Woods and the choir. She was one of the original "mothers" of Rev. Milton Brunson's Thompson Community Singers and loved to follow her "children" wherever they played, sang and preached. Unforgettable was the energy of the Holy Spirit.
Just came back from the 53 pastoral anniversary of Pastor Woods concert. What a treat to hear the choir sound just as good as it did 45 years ago. Miss Melvin Smothers and Rev. George Jordan,
I was so glad to hear this song again after so many years! Our #2 Choir used to sing this in the late 60's I believe. Timeless!!! I've repeated these words so many times over the years.
This song was the processional for The Legendary New Orleans Gospel Soul Children Choir for decades created by the choir's founder and director the late Albert Sylvester Hadley.. Of course, Gospel Soul Children had a unique ad lib to the song that no one could duplicate. During the annual reunion with a lot of the original members each year, this is one of the old songs brought back.
Where can I find a video or audio of them? I've been for looking for something with them and this song for years!!!!! You are absolutely correct, NO ONE can do it the way they do..
They have several songs here on TH-cam. Also, Amazon has several recordings as well. They're still singing today. Smaller choir these days and 2-3 generations younger, but still fiya! Thanks for researching. They will always be my choir.
