I loved how Julia said "I am not trying to rush to the main story" that's how I played. The game is loaded with so much and nice to enjoy everything it has to offer.
I envy Elden Ring players who just run through catacombs and caves. I'm literally crawling through each part with my heart racing waiting to be attacked by some vile thing.
Coming here two years later because after watching you play the DLC on Twitch for the last days I feel finally brave enough to start my first FromSoft game everrrr xD Let's go, I'm sure this playlist will give me hope and inspiration and knowledge and giggles on the way ^^ I love how you play these games!
@@juliatvgames Haha thanks for believing 😄 Honestly I never thought I'd enjoy it as much as I do right now. It's SO different from what I expected, everything feels meaningful and impactful, I love it. I'm still gonna watch your stream though, see you on the cookie side of life 🙃
It is my understanding that pressing the button to attack with your left hand while dual weilding actually lets you do just that. It looks amazing. And it does great too.
With the dog cat thing I would wait for it's walking or hover attack, dodge it and then get in one or two hits. Then just stay away from it when it's spinning and breathing fire. So many of the bosses in this game delay their attacks for so damn long (looking at you Margit) and then immediately follow up with several fast attacks. Some of the bosses you need to run to the other side of the arena or find some cover before you try to heal or they will choose that moment to attack or throw something at you. (Still looking at you Margit).
Hi, Julia! Is so fun watching you play :) I also admire your skill: you killed the giant and two bosses straight after leaving the tutorial and before you even leveled up once... That's the hardcore way of playing this game, hard hardcore ;) I'm looking forward to more elden ring content from you, and I am also playing it myself :)
One thing i never understood, and like 95% of non-pro streamers i've watched do this. But why do people never check the items they get? You get 30 kinds of awesome sounding "Wolves of extreme badassery" summons, "Blood of the Fity Angry Gods" ashes of war type stuff and never once check them out. Not meant as critique, just surprised that this is the norm. Regardless of that, this was by far one of the most wholesome and enjoyable streams i've stumbled over for a while, so thumbs up :)
You collect so many things. Sometimes it's good to just do an inventory check when you rest at a grace. If you go through your bag every time you pick an item up. It might be come a tad tedious.
just found out your channel & i just started playing elden ring too 😊 💯% im going to watch all your elden ring vids 😃 i love how you enjoy every detail of it specially the music ✌️
Thank you for me and my buddies new Elden Ring drinking game! Every time you grab your hair we take a shot of moonshine…..hope to make it to episode 2 some day.
It was really painful to see her losing 2300 runes during watchdog fight without even unlocking level up feature. I know that following main story is not priority, but... unlocking core features like leveling is something everyone who isn't doing lv1 run must do. Anyway. It's a nice video. I disagree with those who say that you'll need to scroll through tons of items if you checked everything in inventory. Stuff can be stored in storage after all and things like spirit ashes, ashes of war, weapons and armor must be checked. Especially if they are obtained from a boss. Stuff from bosess is usually better than what player has. ☺️
I didn't buy the crafting kit at first because for some reason I thought it was something that was one use and that you'd have to keep buying them each time you crafted an item and I also thought that there'd be a crafting table or something at the base/round table place so it wasn't until like 4 hours in that I finally picked one up and realized my mistake. Dum dum dum.
fr, I'm sure there's certain kinds of players that will never even try to kill them after coming across the first one that just fills your flasks. which is a shame considering just how many ashes of war are carried by them
@@fozzythasalesman6125 the real crime is having two different blue scarabs, one for flasks and one for ice spells. I made that mistake and had to look up which ones I had bypassed.

Watching this after playing about 80 hours myself and I just realized that the Tree Sentinel is basically a Night's Cavalry, he has the same attack patterns (or, well, the other way around could be said too).
Loved the first video, but I kept thinking, Why doesn't she just remove the gestures from the menu so that it doesn't accidentally do them? I did that and it made the game a little easier. I like that you're struggling like I did even though I've played other DS games. It makes my feel better that I'm not the only one who does. So many of the streamers I've seen just breeze through everything like it's the easiest game ever.

I got into the fad this month and I'm fairly disappointed... 1) It should have a proper co-op mode - the kind that lets you play the actual game, start to finish, with every mechanic working for everyome - not the half-arsed, constantly being invaded by either npcs or actual players, despite having a password thing we were given. 2) Level design. It's really bad in quite a few moments, especially when you have to walk on ledges without a proper ledge movement mechanic. Other times, it's way too narrow to actually be able to dodge during combat. 3) Malenia. Self-explanatory. 4) Undodgable moves like Godfrey's stomp. If I'm making a particular build that does not rely on tanking moves but dodging, dexterity, etc, why should I be slapped with an unavoidable move all of a sudden? If the point of the combat is - and this is a major sin - dodge rolling, why are you cutting my legs? 5) Level up system. Each stat should have its own independent requirement the more you invested on them; not an universal requirement. 6) Rune loss upon death. Especially if you lose them to a particularly hardy boss or, as it's often the case, fall of the map dodging an enemy and the runes end up in places you can't actually get to them. (But there's an item...) Yes. And it's rather rare to come accross. 7) Tied to number 2), large enemies in tight places, like that first giant you find when you leave the tutorial area and head for the beach. You either tank a move - which you can't because you're level 1, and regardless, you should not be forced to play as a tank - dodge and risk a 50% chance of a deadly fall, get stuck in the many rock formations of the area and die, or wing it back and forth, praying to the Outer Gods for the giant not to hit you... except it will because it knows the Thu'um. There are other examples such as two giant rats - one in Caelid and the other in a forest - and a bear in some ruins. 8) A boss right off the tutorial area. I just started the game. I'm level 1. I'm exploring the world and there's a grace spot with a merchant just in front of me. Oh wait, there's also an overpowered rider blocking the path so I have to go all the way around each time I want to go through there, in hopes my runes aren't lost permanently. 9) A lot of the mechanics aren't properly explained. Like spell casting or weapon enchanting. 10) The amount of grind you have to subject yourself to in comparison to the actual world size. In comparison, Dragon Age Inquisition took me, in the quickest run, 100 hours to finish. The only thing I had to grind for were ore, pelts and herbs, not levels. And yes, it absolutely has level requirements for each area, and especially dragons and bosses. The difference is, the experience gains are balanced. And no, it's not an easy game by any stretch of the imagination, especially when you fiddle with the customizable difficulty options. 11) Your enemies have infinite stamina and magic pools and are very often relentless. And no, you don't just "parry this you filthy casual", especially if you aren't playing that sort of build. Most can easily break your guard before you can parry. 12) Input delay is ridiculous. I remember the character taking nearly 10 seconds to preform a dodge roll. Dodging should always overwrite attacking animations, or any other. 13) Character takes forever to recover from any staggered/fallen position. 14) Stopping to consume items. Dude... you're fighting a god. "Oh wait, let me just casually walk while I drink a potion". 15) Not having an actual pause mechanic. This one is especially bad. Every game has a pause mechanic for a reason: PEOPLE NEED TO TAKE BREAKS. Either for bathroom, food or taking care of other businesses. Some have children to look after and instead of suddenly shutting off their system - which in this case, the game warns you not to do that because it's not stable enough to hold your data - they should just be able to hit that Pause button without having to worry being attacked while AFK. It's not just a matter of "Git Gud" or "Skill issue". It's a matter of legitimately terrible game design. It's okay to like it. More power to you. And kudos if you can actually overcome the many many flaws. I love Skyrim and it has atrocious game design as well, like being pretty much forced into a Stealth Archer build, as most enemies either spend the full length of the fight with their shield up or blocking spells and Shouts with Wards. Difference is, Skyrim can be fixed with mods. Elden Ring can't. At least not as easily and intuitively. At first I thought you were wearing a bulletproof vest because of similar colors.
