As a gay man, I HUGELY appreciate you telling a fun story and conveying the essence of gay clubs as fun and exciting places, rather than jumping on the bandwagon and making a video crying. I seriously dislike all the youtubers posting videos where they fake crying so bad. THANK YOU JESSI! THANK YOU!
I made a singing tribute for her if you'd like to watch on my channel. I posted it before I found out about the club shooting in Orlando. it took hours to calm myself down enough to not cry while singing. it was really hard but its a proper tribute at least.
I'm 27 and never been to a fucking gau club! Or a drag show. I am so ashamed of that lmao. Because I know it's an amazing experience and I'm ovah here wasting my time!
I was worried when putting up this video that some people might misunderstand and think it was me making light of what happened this weekend. But it is clear that most of you have seen where my heart is, and for that, I truly thank you. I didn't even want to film a video today. I was going to make a random storytime, but it just felt wrong. I figured if I did put a video up, it would have to be one that would shine even the smallest of light on this horrible situation. Hence why I made the video topic and title about "gay clubs." Thank you for understanding.
You did the right thing! Brought attention to the important issue, without trying to gain anything from anyone. No clickbait, no monetizing, just sharing a story in a difficult time. Worlds a fucked up place but thankfully theres kind people like you that do their best to try and make someones day better, keep doing you girl you're awesome!
you're so amazing. you're the only one I know who can make a situation like this a bit easier to handle and ps I'm still dying a little from u answering my snapchat lmao
The way you described what it's like for people that don't have to experience the event is exactly how I felt when the Paris attacks happened. I felt sad and sorry for them and it was absolutely terrible, but I rationalized the terror by telling myself it was overseas. Now I can't say that's the case because I live in Orlando and the feeling is indescribable. My friend lost his boyfriend, Frank Hernandez, and the fact that the name is real and I pretty much know of the person and who he is makes everything 100% more realistic. You don't realize how terrifying things like these are until you actually experience them in your community. At the same time I have never seen so many people come together for something like this. It's great to see how much support there is all around the world for the victims of this tragedy.
Before everyone starts feeling sorry for me, please pray for the victims. I really appreciate it, but I didn't lose anyone close to me. My friend did. I did not know Frank personally, but the reason it's upsetting is because of the connection I have to him through my friend who was also there. My friend got hit in his arm and ankle, but he survived and is completely fine. We had a memorial for Frank today and the family deserves all your condolences. I just think it's really important to raise awareness for this event and recognize how real these acts of terror are. Pulse was a place my friends attended all time and there's a Dunkins in front of it I used to go to on my way to class. It makes you realize the reality of these situations when you can connect to them somehow. Don't live in fear, but stay cautious fam.
+Mya Schock because of all the deaths (Loosing a lot of celebrities & Heroes), terrorist attacks, the whole election is a joke & no one is happy about it. I mean this year is making 2015 look good.
I live in Israel. There was an attack like 2 kilometers from my house. We are so "used" to that that were shocked and sad, but if we don't know them personally we move on a week later. I think we need to support you, cause it is one of the first times it happens close to you.
This was amazing. I feel like you're one of the few TH-camrs who didn't continue on with their ordinary lives and took a moment to grieve. So much respect
+JessiSmiles glad I was able to make you laugh for once considering how many times I've basically peed myself watching your videos, honestly think we're destined to be best friends
+JessiSmiles I used to say cheap steak not cheapskate because I thought a cheap steak meant you would get like e.coli but who cares about a skate that's cheap?
And this is why Jesse should have so many more followers! This girl is funny but more than anything caring and smart and I want to applause her being brave enough to post and make this video ✌🏼️❤️
This was so amazing. Every single bit of it. Jessi you continue to show what a wonderful woman you are! You took a shitty situation and tried to make some form of positivity. With all the sadness in the news and online this was needed. Congrats my love.
The Orlando shootings really hit home for me because I am born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. I have been to Orlando many times and have friends there. And like you, I have attended gay clubs quite a bit. I have a friend who lives a street over from Pulse. I cried for days over it and watching this now brought those feelings back. So horrible :(
I truly appreciate that you addressed the issue and then still told a story, because that is what we need to do, we need to continue with our lives. I truly appreciate you and what you do. Thank you, Jessi.
You finally put how I feel about the shooting into words, I've been on and off crying since it happened. You're such an inspiration, thank you for making people laugh when we all need it the most
I just love how you can see the good side of everything. Even though what happened in Orlando is sad, you managed to make us smile by telling a story about gay clubs... We are the ones who should thank you for your videos!
man. I tried to go back to the video to see what you were talking about and I couldn't find any of what you were mentioning. can you please say what he replied lol because now I'm dying to know
Jessi, you probably hear this all the time, but you are honestly just so inspiring and bring so much joy with your content. Please never stop doing what you're doing, which is making people smile. Love you.
Thank you, not only for making the intro on the Orlando Massacre but also for making me smile. Even though I'm not a huge fan of gay clubs, this made my day so much better.
I love your response to this situation. I've seen a dozen really sad videos but yours is a positive remembrance. I'm not saying we shouldn't be sad but it's nice to see a positive light in this darkness. Thank you Jessi
Everything happens for a reason. instead of uploading on saturday and missing today it happened the other way around... AND TODAYS MY BIRTHDAY.... my best present is you uploading on my bday. thank you SO much, and i support the LGBTQ community as well so thank you for the shout out for the tragedies in florida. its a shame but the more we come together the more we can help... BUT THANKS AGAIN FOR THIS AWESOME PRESENT!
Omg, that was you!!! I was waiting for you to comment since you iz lacking in the social media department, gurl. Lol I legit cried when I opened that damn package. You are so thoughtful. I've been using them since I got them!! THANK YOU
+JessiSmiles Yay! You replied back to me. Sorry I'm not in the social meads. ;-) Glad you got them and like them. Can't wait to see them in a video since I didn't get to see them cuz I didn't want to damage them
Jessi, I honestly adore you so much! I'm glad you addressed what happened but still made a happy fun video. I've been giving side-eye to some other Internet personalities who haven't taken the time to say anything. Anyway, love you Jessi!
I woke up and saw a notification from your channel, and I have never clicked on a video so fast. The only youtuber I want to watch for the rest of my life
When my mom heard about the Orlando shooting she said it was good for them. If it was ever straight people, my mom would say why are people so wicked? I just couldn't imagine if I was bisexual or lesbian and told her what the hell she would do to me. I'm fine with homosexuals but I just think it's natural for Jamaicans to not like anybody that's not straight.
+jordan delrea i agree. Im arab. Im muslim. When my mom found out about the shooting she all but called the guy a sick fuck and she shed a few tears. @amber anderson i know its easy to generalize when it comes to ones own race (ive done it countless times tbh) but do try not to especially when it comes to these situations because unfortunately there are a lot of people on the internet whod read ur comment and take it to heart and itll just make them more ignorant than they already are.
I'm gay, I was extremely effected and saddened by the Orlando shootings. I was going to celebrate pride last week, and now I'm glad I didn't. I shouldn't be fucking happy about missing it. Anyways, it effected me and I'm still not generalizing with religion or race when it comes to that, it was done by a sick and fucked up individual, not a race or religion for the most part. Don't you dare talk about it being "natural" for anyone to be homophobic. It's not. It's a learned behavior, and I don't know where the hell the "jamacians don't like anyone that isn't straight" bullshit came from. You have to watch what you say, especially now.
Honestly I live near Orlando and I want to thank you for uploading this because it made me laugh and take my mind off of all the horrible things that happened this past weekend. Keep doing you.

OH MY GOD FINALLY SOMEONE WHO GETS ME!!!!!!!! My parents always ask me why I go to get clubs if I’m not gay. I’m like, because gay people don’t judge me... I feel free at gay clubs. Gay people compliment me and hug me without even knowing me. I feel loved and accepted... there’s no other way I can explain it. The atmosphere at gay clubs makes me feel good. I just feel like Ivan be myself, wear whatever i want, act however i want without being judged and stared at

I feel upset about what happened in Orlando, but I also feel upset about the fact that worse things happen in places like Palestine and Syria and no one says anything. No one feels hurt, or depressed about innocent lives being taken just as how innocent people's lives were taken in Orlando. This was a one time thing whereas what occurs in Palestine and Syria occurs every single day. So what is the message we're trying to convey by dismissing the acts of violence on a whole country, but giving media coverage and attention to the acts of violence that occur in cities like Paris or Orlando? I just don't agree with that.
You don't know that, dude. A lot of people are upset about the mass murder in Palestine and Syria, as well as the mass murders in our own home nation. Of course no one is equally as upset about Palestine and Syria, because those places have no connections to us as a community. You're generalizing, that's not cool. Just because no one on the news is upset about it doesn't mean that individuals aren't upset.
+Hannah Smith +Hannah Smith So, what you're trying to say is because Palestine and Syria are all the way on the other side of the world the violence, genocide, and slaughtered of innocence that occurs there is not affecting us so we shouldn't care? That is very ignorant. I want you for a minute to think of it like this... if your parents or family members were there and this happened to them, I'm certain you would want someone to report and give media coverage to your family who's lives were taken without any valid reason. If for a second you were to put yourself in their shoes, perhaps you would understand the pain and agony that they go through. There are children who are literally suffering from mental illnesses due to what they have seen. And you're telling me the news shouldn't cover that?! Clearly if this is not being broadcasted on the news and other social media sources, the message they're trying to convey is to forget about the violence and act as if it isn't happening!
There is a war, so i dont think they are going to broadcast every bad thing that happens there. And also, of course people are going to be more sad when the bad thing happens to the same native person rather than someone on the other side of the world. peace
My friend does drag and seeing him perform for the first time was honestly the best experience. Girl, if you ever come to Vancouver, Canada they are the show to see. Best Queens in the Lower Mainland :P
Jessi, this weekend has been full of sad news, but your video intro was so true and inspiring. I missed seeing your face :( Thank you for being who you are and making this confusing world a better place!!! Love you ❤️❤️❤️

You have to watch what you say, especially now.
Honestly I live near Orlando and I want to thank you for uploading this because it made me laugh and take my mind off of all the horrible things that happened this past weekend. Keep doing you.
ok this is random BUT WHATS THAT DRINK THAT SHES ALWAYS DRINKING, THAT GREEN THING IN THE STARBUCKS CUP
Macha (not sure i spelled that right) powder
it's a Starbucks custom tea of water and matcha which is a green tea! some people at classic which is simple syrup (sweetener) to take a little bit of the bite away because I find it to be a little bitter!
+Jenn Atha Kathleen lights says it tastes like green tea....
.
Obviously I love the jessi in her usual storytimes, but the beginning of this video was so raw and ahh
whats that starbucks drink? omg it's green so i could make myself think that i am being super healthy
Matcha powder
you can also get a green tea frappuccino. and the green tea creme frappuccino tastes like green tea kit kats. it's my favorite starbucks drink
Matcha water.
It's matcha but it's nit necessarily "healthy" though
Green is not a creative color
you are such a good story teller it's crazy! I enjoy your story times so much

It was probably a queen that wasn't on Drag Race, lol
I knew when i saw the title the intentions you had for this video. You're my favorite youtuber
Thank you someone that. Brings this up THANKYOUUU
And also, of course people are going to be more sad when the bad thing happens to the same native person rather than someone on the other side of the world. peace
+Anna T dumbest comment I have read so far. That is the stupidest ideology anyone has ever said. Get educated please.
