      They work together for the same capitalist interests. Left hand, right hand of a same cartel.
      Poilièvre will build housing for the Trudeau's migrants with your money and will probably use some of the land you owned for that. Economy will be booming at your expense.

    I don' know why Canadians are complaining; the system is working exactly like its supposed to. It goes to one man who shares that money with his criminal friends. If you wanted, you could collect income and property taxes from your provincial government and the money would simply stay in the province wherein it is collected.. But we are constantly told "if there were no taxes we wouldn't have roads and hospitals". You know what else we wouldn't have? a black hole of a deficit. Taxes are inherently good? Good for criminals maybe sure, why not.

    I'm just going to throw out there that many, many consultants are a by-product of bilingualism. Why? Hear me out. Federal bureaucrats have to be bilingual, especially at the middle and higher management level. But it's already hard to find competent managers - finding someone who is competent for a difficult job and also proficient in English and French is too much. So chances are, the government hires/promotes bilingual people into roles that they are not qualified for, and then they hire a consultant to do the actual work.
    Hiring consultants also conveniently hides the true increase in the federal sector's employment.
    So two things: If you then expand public sector employment, as the liberals did, you magnify the effect and the need for consultants, which is why the expansion of the federal government under Trudeau is so incredibly costly and harmful to the economy. Second, a conservative government will need to slaughter some of our Canadian holy cows - maybe with the vast improvements in technology, we can dispense with bilingualism for federal employees (ducks and takes cover)?

    Sometimes specialists are required to help deliver a project or program, deal with an unusual circumstance, or provide expertise the government does not have. But it does not make sense to hire 109,000 new staff AND use so many outside consultants. There are so many examples of poor contract management, scope creep, duplication, and outright fraud that whoever was responsible in those cases should be fired. That’s what happens when there is fraud, incompetence and criminality in the private sector. Who spends more than $60 million on an app?! Poilievre must get to the bottom of as much malfeasance as possible, and hold those responsible to account.

      Sigh. The automatic pay raise has been happening since 2017. It was suspended during the last recession, and should be cancelled given the state of our country’s finances.

      @garywagner2466 so why the sigh?
      It should absolutely be discarded. Not one of them, of any stripe deserves it.

    Too bad Pierre didn’t use this topic as a segue way to talk about the housing accelerator fund; tens of millions of dollars going to already bloated municipal bureaucrats, only for the numbers of new housing startups to decrease in some of the benefiting municipalities. Literally getting paid more for lower performance. People are actually criticizing Poilievre for declaring he’ll increase funding to municipalities that hasten the building approval process and cut out red tape and costs for homeowners and cut funding from municipalities that fail to meet the challenge; performance based funding… all the while, the Libs are simply handing over the “accelerator funding” based on pinky swearing and hollow promises, apparently? This Trudeau administration is a farce.

    This video is why I want to leave canada for the states. To relinquish the power back to the people once the government has reached such a totalitarian level is almost impossible. The corruption, greed, and power are too addictive alongside the money they take from us. I want to believe in Pierre. But like he said in a different clip Trudeau had the party and he gets the hangover. Pierre has good intentions but I don't think he's vicious enough to do what needs doing. Thats why I love trump.
