When I was 5, my doctor promised me I would have to get any more blood tests until I was 11. I went to school and thought about how long 5 years was, and how I basically got all the time in the world to not have to worry about it. When I was 11, I realized that those 5 years hadn’t been as long as I wanted them to be. It’s been 10 years now. 10 years since I was a little girl in a playground thinking about how much I could do in 5 years.
I am 28 and trust me time gets faster. When you are working, unless you do well in school, you are subjected to monotonous work that will make your days unmemorable. The stress of having to deal with your own problems without any help and then the pressure of your parents failing health will hit you. That 5 years feels shorter and shorter, you get trapped into things that will waste years of your life whether it's dating or choosing a bad company to work for. I am nearing my 10 year highschool reunion and how my life has been so far, how my friends have changed and who became rich and who hasn't, whether it was ethical or not. All the while you are trying to cope with the reality that we are all just mammals on a big ball of rock that can be destroyed at any moment by humans or outside. Don't think too much or you'll become like me. Hahah
29 here, just want to give all you people turning 18 a huge tip. The next 12 years are going to go by so fast it's crazy. I'm 30 this year and time has just flown by. Some days will seem slow but trust me, they aren't. Seize the time you have. Make use of it and enjoy your life but make sure you do something to set yourself up in the future too. Take a trade or something. Trust me, you do not want to be 30 and have wasted your entire 20s partying. No matter what people say, it will not be worth it later on. I get you I turned 18 in August. I've spent a lot of time thinking like that and I promise you it doesn't help any. Sometimes life is rough and that means you gotta take advantage of better times. If you're down you gotta put yourself in situations that will make you happier. The idea of turning 18 can seem like the end of everything you know and going to college is scary. The adjustment is scary but I think you'll find it's much easier than you imagined. I did it recently and honestly there's a lot of fun and new friends. I'm on break right now and it lets me experience life like it used to be, which is nice
The best tip I can give is to not dwell on it. Enjoy your days, every day if you can. 17-20 flew by for me and I’m still sitting here at 23 wondering where the last bits of my childhood went lmao. Meanwhile then I was too concerned with trying to be an adult. Just enjoy your life.

I think time goes faster as you get older because. Life gets more boring. Like when your a little kid Your not bored of life yet you enjoy life and having fun. Time goes slower. But as you get older Time gets faster as your brain is thristy for fun. Fun has gotten harder to get and life gets more boring overtime, I can't verify this though as I'm only 12

When you hit your 20s nothing that happened before feels real, and nothing that happens until you're 25 feels right. That being said, I'm glad it didn't. I made choices, made mistakes, lost more than I wanted, found exactly what I needed, made a life and destroyed it then started all over again in that very small amount of time. I'm going to be 27 this year and I'm happier than I was when I was 18, but it didn't come without cost.

Dont live your life for other people. Because in the end, you will be with yourself and only yourself. And when that time comes you want to look back and reflect on your life and smile. Because you lived it on your terms. Dont do what I did. My time flew by because I worked hard to make someone else's life easier. I've realized I've been doing it wrong this while time. I get you I turned 18 in August. I've spent a lot of time thinking like that and I promise you it doesn't help any. Sometimes life is rough and that means you gotta take advantage of better times. If you're down you gotta put yourself in situations that will make you happier. The idea of turning 18 can seem like the end of everything you know and going to college is scary. The adjustment is scary but I think you'll find it's much easier than you imagined. I did it recently and honestly there's a lot of fun and new friends. I'm on break right now and it lets me experience life like it used to be, which is nice
