what moisturizer, primer, and setting spray do you use with the estee lauder double wear foundation? i have oily skin and i'm currently using the elf power grip primer and i dont like how it works in combo with the foundation it makes my skin still look really shiny:/

@@KirstyLo my skin type is really tricky because after i wash my face my skin is usually dry so i moisturizer and prime but even when i do that my foundation looks cakey/you can see the dry flakey patches. then about a half an hour in my skin starts to get really oily and my face gets shiny :/ im trying to find products to reduce the shine and keep my makeup on longer. would the milk poreless primer work with double wear? it says double wear is a silicone based foundation but milk primer is water? and ive heard that silicone and water products dont mix. like if you have a silicone foundation you want to use a silicone primer ?
Right so firstly I use the Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel cream moisturiser, it’s oil-free, fragrance free, very lightweight and hydrating. For primer, my go-to is the Lancôme La Base Pro primer, it’s oil free and great as makeup base. After applying Estée Lauder DW I do like to use a bit of Laura Mercier translucent setting powder on my t-zone areas. Then for setting spray I’ll use the Benefit the Porefessional Super Setter makeup setting spray, or Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray.
I have already done a more in depth video about how to apply the Estée Lauder double wear foundation without it looking cakey, with plenty of tips and techniques. Hope this helps!🩷✨
thank you! i think the issue is my moisurizer because you can see the dry patches under my makeup no matter what primer or foundation i use... i know you have oily skin so you may not know, but do you have any recs on moisturizers for dry skin? i've been using la rosche posy for oily skin but maybe i need a moisturizer for dry skin @@KirstyLo
