*Recoil Buffer vs Extra Power Recoil Spring* You know I've never seen a Russian or any nation that uses the AK-47/74 use recoil buffers. I am starting to think Recoil buffers are one those accessories marketer's market to make more money like titanium firing pins. So if your bolt carrier is hitting the back part of the receiver *"harder than normal"* get an *extra power recoil spring* to stop that situation. Note: extra power recoil springs will also push the bolt carrier & bolt harder closed. It really is best to not use a buffer or extra power recoil spring. Let your AK be an AK. In my opinion.
If you have a hard time feeding the split guide rod back in side the spring. Like mine would not stay together. I used a large milk-shake straw over the split end of the guide rod. And in it goes.
your video was super easy to follow along with. the directions were very clear, and I actually see what you were saying. this video helped me out. thank you for making and posting this video!
Yeah, good tips, I found it just after I installed my KP9 buffer. Did it by hand. Those ends of the end spring assembly with the hooks- those can bite!
The spring of the bolt SHOULD!! be changed after 3k of the shoots . ONLY! the weak spring permits to the bolt to hit the frame. The good spring keeps the bolt from hitting the frame. Don"t be foolish buying the useless peace of trash . It may preserve the bolt from hitting the frame BUT!! the weak spring CAN fail to lock the bolt and put you in death danger.
Thanks a ton for the video man. It's amazing what one will overlook until shown the correct way to do something. (I hadn't thought of the chopstix) anyways it helped a lot. Thanks!
The purpose of this buffer is just an optional alternative of heavy spring to reduce hitting b carrier to the trunnion. Better get 15%extra power recoil spring from any brands.
Yeah and then you increase 15-20 percent more wear and tear on your front trunnion. Obviously your front trunnion is your most important part and a stronger spring will put more wear and tear on it. The buffer helps out your bolt carrier. But you don’t want extra damage to your front trunnion
@@jakeh6980 Honestly, I've never convinced with the idea of functional improvement and recoil reduction with that thing. For reason i wasn't reassure with it, i thought the same, the trunnion malfunction causing. Better to stick with traditionals. A balance balance with recoil spring weight and bullet grain
thanks guy. the buffer came with no instructions. i assumed it just slid down the spring. Alas, the other day i noticed i had no buffer. how it got out of the receiver i am not quite sure but it is no longer available to buffer. I did manage to figure out how to remove the spring in the same manner you did although I did not use the chop stick but a screw driver from a very small set. thank you very much.
Is there a noticeable difference when shooting without a recoil buffer and when shooting with one? Great video, thanks for the information. Thought it was just a drop in piece lol
Hi, I'm not sure of the longevity. I've used it for at least a thousand rounds on my Tantal while bump firing mag after mag. Its holding up just fine. Check out the main video on my page and see the flawless mag dump

This rubber is for fake aks, with home made recivers . There is no need for this on normal ak because there is no contact of bolt carrier and rear trunion. Waste of money
Did you ride the short bus to school? Yes the bolt carrier slams into the rear trunnion you idiot. You fire rifle. Bolt carrier gets thrown back and slams into rear trunnion, this causing wear and tear on the tail of your bolt carrier, trunnion and receiver. Doesn’t take a brain surgeon to understand the functionality of the AK
@@jakeh6980 you are idiot. I have issued manny od them full auto millitary versions. No such think. If spring is good, no need for rubber. End of story. Internet warrior vs. 5 years in service with that gun. LOL.
Do you even own an AK? Have you ever seen how the parts function? The carrier slams into the rear trunnion every time you shoot a round. Wtf are you talking about saying the carrier doesn’t hit against the rear trunnion? That’s why adjustable gas pistons are made; to reduce overgassed AKs and to reduce wear and tear. Just put one on my OPAP and WASR. Got them from Apex. Sprayed Ballistol on the springs and the buffer slid right through. Did't have to disassemble.
My main complaint with this instructional video is I had to order Chinese takeout before installation.

Good video. But for the lazy people out there: just place the buffer under hot water and it slides easily over the spring. No tools needed.

Do you recommend these?
Thanks for the video. They're vice grips, by the way, not channel locks. :) And I installed it per your instructions.

can u actually feel the difference with the buffer pad
Vise grips. Not vice grips. A vice is a bad habit. A vise is a mechanism for holding things.
ohh! thats how its done! thanks so much! how long does the buffer last? does it break down and fall apart from constant slamming???
thanks for the video!
Thanks for making the video, it made it much easier. Best regards.

did mine with no tools
Will this help extend the receivers life span?
Yes, because it will jam more often, you will shoot less, thereby extending the life span.
I wanna see him do a ALG spring...their tuff...
Merci pour cette vidéo !!!
Just slide it over the spring. Omg
hey, I need to see a tutorial for my kp9 buffer installation this worked!! thanks
