Hey Michael, thanks so much for your review! Great to hear your positive feedback and fair criticism too. You’ve obviously listened closely and that it itself is a compliment believe me 😁 Thanks also to Guinea Prog for sending us a link. Really enjoyed your trailer too and will definitely watch some of your other reviews. Side note… you mentioned TesseracT in your trailer (great fun!!) Acle Kahney was a guitar student of mine back in the noughties and attended the rock school I still run to this day. What a musician, what a band!! Thanks again, Andy

Thank you for this review. It is a wonderful album, as you pointed out, very uplifting and perfect listening for a balmy summer's day. If you ever get the chance to see Solstice play live, then you should definitely grab it! Their performances are full of joy and their musicianship superb Even when Andy's guitar string broke at one of their performances, they improvised brilliantly until the problem was sorted. I will send Andy the link to this review, I'm sure he and the band will appreciate it.

hey Notes. One of Solstice's 90s vocalists used to be my neighbour. She kept chickens and grew a lot of plants. Never listened to them properly though. I'll have to check them out.

Really enjoying LIGHT UP by Solstice. Bought it on vinyl which features two sides each with its own mood (day & night). Check out the last track "Bulbul Tarang." The music is a great fusion of styles.

Used to see them at the Marquee with Marillion. I've always preferred Solstice . Superb band. All the material is superb. I especially love the earliest work. Other great retro prog bands that I've listened to recently (and have the catalogue) are 'I Am The Manic Whale' and 'Godsticks'.

    Light : The Path (2023)
Not retro prog, but very ambitious.
A fantastic prog record with strong classical overtones.
    They have a bandcamp.

It’s a great album. Their previous album Sia is also great. A recent album I liked is Wobbler’s Dwellers of the Deep. This has shades of 70s Yes in my opinion.

Thanks for the video. I can recommend a hidden diamond, but it's more neo than retro:
    Barock Project - Skyline
Generally it's far between any weak moment on that album, and there's a few stellar highlights. I call it hidden, because on ProgArchives it has only got 8 reviews with a mediocre score.
An even more hidden gem is an older album from Marco Minneman, called "Comfortably Homeless". It's completely bonkers (in a good way) and has only 2 reviews on PA.

Love that album! Already did a review on it (in my peak awkward lockdown hair: th-cam.com/video/Xr2LItRzVss/w-d-xo.html )

Neo-Symphonic Metal-Folk Inspirational Hyper-Fusion Classical Retro-Space Rock Prog is way better than Neo-Symphonic Folk-Metal Inspirational Hyper-Fusion Classical Retro-Space Prog Rock though sometimes I am in the mood for Neo-Symphonic Folk--Metal Retro-Space Rock Inspirational Hyper-Fusion Prog, but it depends all on my mood.
    Still, I'm digging this band.
