wonderful craftmanship. thanks for taking the time to share your metal shaping and fabrication skills / knowledge. i would like to hear about the cars / projects under the mezzanine floor, they look very interesting.
Beautiful job, the scoop is great and the inner structure looks amazing. I've been debating modifying the hood of my '64 Galaxie with a mild scoop and I'm going to do it. Thanks for sharing
@@Resurrected_metalshaping And thats the point mate. Hard to get enough time behind the tools when its a hoby and not a full time job. Will be having a crack at the same reverse cowl job on my spare HK bonnet for my Premier project. Have seen a bloke south of Perth advertising the cowls for a reasonable price. If not for blokes like you taking the time to film your work It would be very hard to learn new tricks and skills. Appreciated and subscribed. And please keep the good vids coming mate.
I've actually done a few of these a few years ago its funny to see someone do the inner frame exactly the same. i used to make the scoops from 1 piece i would wheel the top quite alot put the bead in while its flat then fold the edges down and shrink them by hand like a big flange in the shrinker then i can gradually get it to the shape i want it then trim it and fold the bottom flange to the bonnet profile then do the front and back flanges and weld it in i used to put a wire edge in the open end aswell and tie that in for strength i still have some pics of one just like yours but just under 3 inch looks almost identical
I'm a bit the same. Mainly left. Hammering either hand is not too bad, although I'm a bit wobbly Tig welding with my right hand. Keep up the great content.
Really amazing work and attention to detail. I sure appreciate your videos. Only one question I have it looked like you removed all the areas where the upper skin was bonded to the lower framework. What will keep the upper skin from lifting or fluttering at speed? Maybe I’ve missed something here. Never actually taken a hood apart so I’d appreciate your insight..
Thank you. And yes I cut out the original spots where it glues down. There is a bonnet seam sealer that gets put under the flanges. The bonnet seam sealer can flex so it doesn’t pull the bonnet skin. So it’s always good to get the right seam sealer also it gets glued standing put if you glue a bonnet upside down it will set with the skin pushed in that’s another thing to look out for.
Impressive work Ryan, A good job to try out the new power hammer, could you have done that with the smaller hammer? Looking at buying one so any feedback on them would be much appreciated, Cheers Craig.
Absolutely phenomenal attention to detail. It’s videos like these that inspire me to get back out into the garage and practice.
@@Freedom_is_better_than_safety thank you. It’s great to hear the videos motivate you I hope people learn a bit from them and get motivated.

Bravo, because with such mastery of welding and bodywork, this hood is now a true piece of art.
Thank you
Wow. Almost too good to be covered by paint. Pure craftsmanship.

Thought my old man knew what he was doing with custom body work and repairs. You make him look shit.
It’s just time behind the tools. And pushing my self and the limits.

That’s good you did the inner frame the same. I do think it makes for a good finish underneath.
Incredible work. May I ask how many hours went into this hood? I’m still learning shaping trying to get an idea on efficiency. Thank you
You have an interesting style. Left handed with the Tig torch and right handed with the Mig and hammer.
Iv always been left or right handed my whole life mainly right. But what ever I’m most comfortable with I go for

Yes I was wondering the same thing! As a guess some sort of seam sealer in between?
