I feel like TH-cam specifically targeted me with this one for a few reasons... 1. I have an an existing AdSense account on a different channel 2. I need about 500 more hours of watch time before I can monetize. 3. I love Mario and you have all those cool items in the background! Im stuck on watch hours... im not sure if youtube will ever let my channel to be monetized. Some of my videos are against their policy. im afraid they will remove some of my videos or suspend my channel for being monetized. Not knowing is killing me.
Artificial intelligence may take over the world but the human touch is so irreplaceable. There will always be a market for personal service. Don't give up creating. The vacuum that TH-cam has created will be filled and you will get validation.

Anytime i have an issue that needs addressing fast, I turn to twitter because companies will usually respond pretty quickly & frequently have DMs open. I did see that this is an old video and you did finally get monetized 🥳 I just need to catch up to see how it was resolved. 😉
Keep going for sure. You might double your sub base and your watch time by covering this topic for sure. I could see you getting to 10k and triple the views by showing this process in every step. Think of all the good you will cause and help with 🤩
How frustrating! I met the monetization requirements during the start of the pandemic. Every time I applied for adsense I would get a message that they had limited staff due to covid. During that time I actually saw other channels got monetized and be accepted so I was super frustrated! That's when someone told me that I shouldn't expect to make much from adsense anyway, and I started creating my own digital products that I promote on my channel. Finally about 9 months after reaching the requirements, my application went through. I still don't make much (now it's like $60/mo) so I'm glad I still have my digital products to make money from. Definitely recommend doing something similar. You could totally create a course for small TH-camrs or something! Hope that helps.
I am thinking of doing some digital products or an online course but I was holding back, at least until I get monetised. I feel like I am not qualified until I hit that goal. Are you running an online tutoring course?

I will still make monetization as part of my plan if I were you BUT I wouldn't make that a top priority. As you said, focusing on the process of making good videos and get better is more important. I see monetization as a reward for figuring things out along the way :)
I do the same thing with my other TH-cam channel I have plenty of subscribers I could monetize but I choose not to.... this is my guinea pig TH-cam channel I watch anything I want and subscribe to others with this channel but I won't subscribe with my other channel to nobody it's strictly to post videos

Oof that is very frustrating. I've also had something similar, but with one of the biggest esports gaming company. They refuse to let a human help people, they apply bots to do the work while they are getting paid for it. Customer support are the worst with big companies. Ultra frustrating! Well, I hope you can get this situation sorted out quickly 🙏.

@@KevinChee a few weeks ago I was watching a lot of beginner TH-cam videos (not necessarily about monetizing as I never specifically sought out that info), and I still watch recommended ones when they seem relevant.
I’ve just hit 22 subscribers and 47 watch hours since January. The target is now 500 sbs and 3000 watch hrs since YT lowered the threshold. Sorry to hear of your experience Kevin but this is so typical of the society we live in now. Big faceless companies with no customer service. I’m middle aged and have seen the whole deterioration since the 90s when customer service was great and ‘the customer was always right.’ It’s incredibly frustrating the way these days nobody wants to pick up the phone. There’s a book called ‘death of customer service in the 21st century’ and I make them right. It’s awful now. Really hope you got this sorted - I know this was a couple of years ago now.💪
@@selphineomwenga4258 47 watch hours is peanuts. I'm really no expert at this. All i do is post the best videos i can and post as regularly as i can. I've made 14 videos since January which is about 3 per month.

Most of the TH-camrs making serious coin aren't actually making it through TH-cam. They largely earn that through royalties, sponsorship, special promotions e.g. a boxing match, collaborations with other people, or selling something else that their TH-cam channel has helped them promote.
Endorsements are crazy. It also depends on where they come from though. Most channels from the US tend to get them quite easily, even if their channel is relatively small.
I guess this is history now. I did not find a part-ll in your description but I will look for it in your channel I'd like to know how you resolved the situation, thank you for sharing this. For some people it's never easy, believe me I know the feeling.

My issue now is that all my shorts get only 1k impressions, and that's it. TH-cam stops serving impressions. Even if their doing 45% of views per 1k impressions.

I've essentially been dealing with the same thing. I've pretty much done everything in my power to fix the problem but I think it's at the point where it's out of my hands. But I'm not giving up hope

I feel your pain in getting monetized! I got monetized a while ago and it was horrible process! I was 15 at the time and wasn’t able to signup for my own Adsense account and I got declined. After getting my parents to signup for one (which is what google recommends for going about this issue). It wouldn’t let me link it since I had previously linked my channel to the original one that I tried to create that got declined. Trying to get this fixed was terrible and google provided no help whatsoever. Just like your situation, google had no one you could talk to about the issue and I felt defeated and screwed over. The fix for me was to wait 38 days and then it let me relink the new Adsense account to my channel. In the end I lost an entire month of revenue which would’ve been pretty significant at the time. I hope you get your situation figured out. I know how it feels 😞
Sounds like you had it worse than me. I couldn't link mine to any Adsense so I did not have to wait 38 days, I simply created a new AdSense account and link them up. The frustrating part is getting help from AdSense, literally no help whatsoever even though it is clearly a flaw in AdSense
I totally understand your frustration. For me chapters don’t work - even though I set them up correctly. And I have other channels where they are cool. I think TH-cam is a mess and it desperately needs a support at least for those creators who uploaded X number of videos.

Not only do you have to wait, you have to agree to each individual way to get paid after waiting for adsense and then waiting to turn on each method, AND then waiting to get each video monitized. And any that have any claim of any kind wont get monitized
What I found was my adsense has an issue and it is tied to my address somehow. I can neither create a new account nor can I fix the issue with my account. It was a mess and there was no one support from adsense or Google. I suggest you try creating a new adsense account with a different address if you have one. Btw, is your channel focusing solely on TH-cam Shorts now? I can see it grew your channel significantly!

I'm having the exact same issue. TH-cam sent me the exact same email (the 2nd one) and they did not mention the reason for rejection. I've watched the second part of this video. I'll give it a try. Hope I won't get rejected again.
My issue is with AdSense not TH-cam. If you can create a brand new verified AdSense account then I am sure you can link your channel to it. See my pinned comment.

My issue is from AdSense where they refuse to link my account to YT because it is linked to AdMob. If you can create a new verified AdSense account then you might just be able to use that instead. But keep it for TH-cam only though

This is exactly what I have been going through for months! I am eligible for monetization, but am refused because AdSense claims I already have an AdSense account, which I don't! And, as you say, there is NO ONE to contact about it.
Very annoying indeed. I ended up creating a new AdSense account but I needed a new physical address for that. Seems to be the fastest way. Till this day, I still have not receive a response from AdSense.

I created a new adsense account and linked it to my TH-cam channel. I got approved a week ago. So far, I made £4 ..... Just create another adsense account and link it to your channel. It can be a different email to your TH-cam channel.

Let's keep pushing my channel is just 109 subs yet but in 4 months time I must finish it to 1000 I have a strategy that gave me the few am having already.
The key to success is your mindset. I’m a small channel with 19 subscribers, I have been steadily growing this month. Even though it’s small growth it’s better than nothing. Anybody can achieve what they want if they have a healthy mindset and stay consistent.

I would love to get monetized to help keeo my kitty sanctuary going...plus also have a place to share (and to have a platform for me to save a memory) cute moments with the kitties here... I am seriously novice. Only 7 subs atm and lofty goals that are not just wanted, but truly needed. Pets are not living as long as they used to and I blame it on crappy pet food in all the stores...so i plan on having some videos on that subject. Meanwhile I really just want a regular ol me vibe...not suoer professional like these big channels. I find I subscribe and watch videos all the way thru if the people seem real and relatedable like you vs ones that appear over the top and over edited. I also dont want to have a channel just about pushing affiliate links but may have some, of course, for products I really believe in that I feel will help others.
going from 7 subs to 41 subs in 3 days is something, you should feel proud. There's a big cat community out there who would love your channel I'm sure. But having said that, you do need to get serious about making money off your channel sooner or later. It isn't so much about making a profit for yourself. It is more about needing the money to sustain and run your channel. I'm sure you'll notice it as your channel continues to grow.
@@KevinChee Yes...I'm already looking into the different ways (such as adding affiliate links to products that we use around here...and will be creating more content on that. I had done one a while back...but was brand new at affiliate marketing...I was pretty confused on it all back then so never did any more of them!!! Also - I'm up to 53 subs right now! I do have a question...maybe you can make a video about it or have one you can link below for me. Do subs gained from shorts count towards total subs and monetization...or does TH-cam keep them separate like it does watch hours?? I have gained a LOT of subs from my shorts...but I'm starting to get traction on some of my longer videos, gaining a few from that and 1 watch hour (I don't have any super long videos yet. )
Thanks for sharing. I have 6 TH-cam channels and my biggest channel was suspended in year 2020. From your info, now I fully understand why it is so difficult to monetize. Early this year, i have already given up hope of this idea of getting it monetized. My other streams of income are better, stable and predictable, so henceforth my posting of video in TH-cam is just for recreation purpose. Once again thank you. 😀
AdSense doesn't have good support, I had an issue when I started using it in 2019 and that was when I saw that it was very difficult to talk to anyone from AdSense. And yes, the forum button is very annoying cause sometimes no one responds, but if they do it's just advice, not solutions. According to what I've read, only people making a lot of AdSense money have special customer support. Try getting a family member to open an AdSense account with their ID, then you just connect it to your TH-cam.
Yeah, for some reason Google knows all of my gmail account in the same household. Just weird that it keeps saying I'm trying to apply for Admob when I'm really applying for TH-cam!
@@KevinChee they're all under AdSense. For me I don't have an id that Google accepts, it takes a while to get one in my country. But my cousin does so she created an account. And linked my TH-cam to it. Once I get my id, I'll close the account and open one under my name.
It's been 4 years of me running my youtube channel and i still haven't reach a thousand subs, kinda afraid if i waste my life time just to achieve nothing. But i still do have the hopes to reach my dream someday and doing my best as i could. You can say that i'm not giving up because i believe i can shine oneday like those people with more than just a thousand subs and so do YOU for those who are still trying for their TH-cam channel, so keep up the good work and have a nice day. 👍🏻
Have you tried more recent games for your videos? I find gaming channels tend to either go with the latest released games or trending games like Minecraft (it that is still trending)
Oh, good idea. i do still trying it till' today. But Minecraft? I find this would be a hard long series for as i imagine, yet i might sure just need to put more efforts into it.
by the way if you're wondering for some game pc or more like that. I'm a mobile phone gamer and i don't have pc or laptop to work more into it. But i'm still glad i have a smartphone to deal with anything i can do right now.

Hey man, just went through your page, your content is nice. But I must say I'm not impressed. Your views are not even consistently going up for someone who has been doing TH-cam for long. You have got some serious research to do. TH-cam is not just about luck. It also comes down to our we go about it

Truth I don't do it as a career and my job limits some things I can say and talk about so you are right its not "well done". Plus the time is not accurate because I have really only started posting a in earnest a month or two again and sporadically because 1. as stated I have to get clearance to say some things; 2. I have a few day jobs and filming and editing takes time; and 3. I don't have a constitution to be honest. Initially it was going to be about explaining the law daily show style but the amount go editing and post production is not worth it. Then then I did the laws behind social media things like the AITA. Again prost production and filming takes forever. Then there was the well I have 50K on tiktok so how do I make videos I can post on both. Then it became reaction with analysis but again the post production. Then I realized I was getting just as much out with less facts and proof because people rather talking head than evidence. That said I would prefer a better product explaining things and adding value to a conversation but people gravitate more toward throw rocks at hot topics like the brick give or trump so why bother. If I want to get to the 4000 hours I am getting more view time on throwing red meat and fireballs even if I don't believe it than being honest. That is what social media is which is why again I said I don't like the content I put out all the time and why so much is sitting in my editing folders because I don't want to compromise myself to say things to get views. As I said I have a real job and real like pays more. I can't let my side hobby mess with that so you are correct I am not grinding like some. What I more meant was I was taking more time to eak out views and views. I dont think I have 200 videos total including shorts and I have about 1000+Hours maybe where people do that on one video throwing red meat. For my own personal goal I want the 4000 but I am not going to let that compromise who I am or interfere with my real life. If I wanted to make it a career I could use the strategies and I have the content hot spot apps etc. I do me and hope for the best. I don't ask for money because that is not what its about but I do get you point where I could work more if I wanted to be in the space.

You can start applying when you are at 500 subs now, with 3k watch hours. At least you can get it sorted out early before the 1k sub and 4k watch hours

TH-cam has changed their monetization plan. You can join when you hit 500 subs and I think 2k watch hours or something. You still can't play ads on your videos though but at least you can verify if adsense works for you much earlier.

I am in the same situation. It is very frustrating. I even asked other small creators. They said my views are low. It should not matter if you got the 1000 subscribers and the 4000 watch hours.
I'm not sure who those small creators are but they seem to be missing a point. If you get those 4000 watch hours, you should do whatever you can do to get into the TH-cam Partner Program. The reason is because once you're in, you do not need to maintain 4000 watch hours in the last 12 months anymore. So, even if your last 12 months' watch hours dropped to say, 3500, but you're already in the YPP, then you will still be monetised. In other words, you do not need to worry about watch hours after you're monetised. It has got nothing to do with low views.
Try being in the music scene. There are channels with million plus subscribers (IE Rick Beato) that cannot be monetized due to the music played is 'copyright'. Even though they have the artists direct permission. Monetization is not the be-all of TH-cam and there are other ways of obtaining an income 😉
I definitely do not speak on behalf of music, that's a whole different genre and something I will not touch. But if I am in the music niche, I wouldn't be looking at monetizing on YT but rather, use YT as a platform to spread my music (assuming I am writing my own song).
I find this frustration exists with almost all Google account processes. It is opaque, and inscrutable, and counter-intuitive. Glad to see things worked out in the end though.

How frustrating! I met the monetization requirements during the start of the pandemic. Every time I applied for adsense I would get a message that they had limited staff due to covid. During that time I actually saw other channels got monetized and be accepted so I was super frustrated! That's when someone told me that I shouldn't expect to make much from adsense anyway, and I started creating my own digital products that I promote on my channel. Finally about 9 months after reaching the requirements, my application went through. I still don't make much (now it's like $60/mo) so I'm glad I still have my digital products to make money from. Definitely recommend doing something similar. You could totally create a course for small TH-camrs or something! Hope that helps.

I do the same thing with my other TH-cam channel I have plenty of subscribers I could monetize but I choose not to.... this is my guinea pig TH-cam channel I watch anything I want and subscribe to others with this channel but I won't subscribe with my other channel to nobody it's strictly to post videos

Oof that is very frustrating. I've also had something similar, but with one of the biggest esports gaming company. They refuse to let a human help people, they apply bots to do the work while they are getting paid for it. Customer support are the worst with big companies. Ultra frustrating! I’ve just hit 22 subscribers and 47 watch hours since January. The target is now 500 sbs and 3000 watch hrs since YT lowered the threshold.
Sorry to hear of your experience Kevin but this is so typical of the society we live in now. Big faceless companies with no customer service. I’m middle aged and have seen the whole deterioration since the 90s when customer service was great and ‘the customer was always right.’ It’s incredibly frustrating the way these days nobody wants to pick up the phone. There’s a book called ‘death of customer service in the 21st century’ and I make them right. It’s awful now.

Most of the TH-camrs making serious coin aren't actually making it through TH-cam. They largely earn that through royalties, sponsorship, special promotions e.g. a boxing match, collaborations with other people, or selling something else that their TH-cam channel has helped them promote.
Endorsements are crazy. It also depends on where they come from though. Most channels from the US tend to get them quite easily, even if their channel is relatively small.
Yeah they sell merch and are sponsored.

My issue now is that all my shorts get only 1k impressions, and that's it. TH-cam stops serving impressions. Even if their doing 45% of views per 1k impressions.
Shorts can be quite random at times. Sometimes if blows out of proportion and sometimes it flatlines. The difference is to drastic.

I feel your pain in getting monetized! I got monetized a while ago and it was horrible process! I was 15 at the time and wasn’t able to signup for my own Adsense account and I got declined. After getting my parents to signup for one (which is what google recommends for going about this issue). It wouldn’t let me link it since I had previously linked my channel to the original one that I tried to create that got declined. Trying to get this fixed was terrible and google provided no help whatsoever. Just like your situation, google had no one you could talk to about the issue and I felt defeated and screwed over. The fix for me was to wait 38 days and then it let me relink the new Adsense account to my channel. In the end I lost an entire month of revenue which would’ve been pretty significant at the time. I hope you get your situation figured out. I know how it feels 😞
Sounds like you had it worse than me. I couldn't link mine to any Adsense so I did not have to wait 38 days, I simply created a new AdSense account and link them up. The frustrating part is getting help from AdSense, literally no help whatsoever even though it is clearly a flaw in AdSense

I totally understand your frustration. For me chapters don’t work - even though I set them up correctly. And I have other channels where they are cool. I think TH-cam is a mess and it desperately needs a support at least for those creators who uploaded X number of videos.

Not only do you have to wait, you have to agree to each individual way to get paid after waiting for adsense and then waiting to turn on each method, AND then waiting to get each video monitized. And any that have any claim of any kind wont get monitized

What I found was my adsense has an issue and it is tied to my address somehow. I can neither create a new account nor can I fix the issue with my account. It was a mess and there was no one support from adsense or Google. I suggest you try creating a new adsense account with a different address if you have one.
Btw, is your channel focusing solely on TH-cam Shorts now? I can see it grew your channel significantly!

I'm having the exact same issue. TH-cam sent me the exact same email (the 2nd one) and they did not mention the reason for rejection. I've watched the second part of this video. I'll give it a try. Hope I won't get rejected again.

My issue is from AdSense where they refuse to link my account to YT because it is linked to AdMob. If you can create a new verified AdSense account then you might just be able to use that instead. But keep it for TH-cam only though

This is exactly what I have been going through for months! I am eligible for monetization, but am refused because AdSense claims I already have an AdSense account, which I don't! And, as you say, there is NO ONE to contact about it.
Very annoying indeed. I ended up creating a new AdSense account but I needed a new physical address for that. Seems to be the fastest way. Till this day, I still have not receive a response from AdSense.

Just create another adsense account and link it to your channel. It can be a different email to your TH-cam channel.

The key to success is your mindset. I’m a small channel with 19 subscribers, I have been steadily growing this month. Even though it’s small growth it’s better than nothing. Anybody can achieve what they want if they have a healthy mindset and stay consistent.

I would love to get monetized to help keeo my kitty sanctuary going...plus also have a place to share (and to have a platform for me to save a memory) cute moments with the kitties here... I am seriously novice. Only 7 subs atm and lofty goals that are not just wanted, but truly needed. Pets are not living as long as they used to and I blame it on crappy pet food in all the stores...so i plan on having some videos on that subject. Meanwhile I really just want a regular ol me vibe...not suoer professional like these big channels. I find I subscribe and watch videos all the way thru if the people seem real and relatedable like you vs ones that appear over the top and over edited. I also dont want to have a channel just about pushing affiliate links but may have some, of course, for products I really believe in that I feel will help others.
going from 7 subs to 41 subs in 3 days is something, you should feel proud. There's a big cat community out there who would love your channel I'm sure. But having said that, you do need to get serious about making money off your channel sooner or later. It isn't so much about making a profit for yourself. It is more about needing the money to sustain and run your channel. I'm sure you'll notice it as your channel continues to grow.

I had done one a while back...but was brand new at affiliate marketing...I was pretty confused on it all back then so never did any more of them!!! Also - I'm up to 53 subs right now! I do have a question...maybe you can make a video about it or have one you can link below for me. Do subs gained from shorts count towards total subs and monetization...or does TH-cam keep them separate like it does watch hours?? I have gained a LOT of subs from my shorts...but I'm starting to get traction on some of my longer videos, gaining a few from that and 1 watch hour (I don't have any super long videos yet. )

AdSense doesn't have good support, I had an issue when I started using it in 2019 and that was when I saw that it was very difficult to talk to anyone from AdSense. And yes, the forum button is very annoying cause sometimes no one responds, but if they do it's just advice, not solutions. According to what I've read, only people making a lot of AdSense money have special customer support.
Try getting a family member to open an AdSense account with their ID, then you just connect it to your TH-cam.
Yeah, for some reason Google knows all of my gmail account in the same household. Just weird that it keeps saying I'm trying to apply for Admob when I'm really applying for TH-cam!
@@KevinChee they're all under AdSense. For me I don't have an id that Google accepts, it takes a while to get one in my country. But my cousin does so she created an account. And linked my TH-cam to it. Once I get my id, I'll close the account and open one under my name.
It's been 4 years of me running my youtube channel and i still haven't reach a thousand subs, kinda afraid if i waste my life time just to achieve nothing. But i still do have the hopes to reach my dream someday and doing my best as i could. Have you tried more recent games for your videos? I find gaming channels tend to either go with the latest released games or trending games like Minecraft (it that is still trending)

Hey man, just went through your page, your content is nice. But I must say I'm not impressed. Your views are not even consistently going up for someone who has been doing TH-cam for long. You have got some serious research to do. TH-cam is not just about luck. It also comes down to our we go about it

Truth I don't do it as a career and my job limits some things I can say and talk about so you are right its not "well done". Plus the time is not accurate because I have really only started posting a in earnest a month or two again and sporadically because 1. as stated I have to get clearance to say some things; 2. I have a few day jobs and filming and editing takes time; and 3. I don't have a constitution to be honest. Initially it was going to be about explaining the law daily show style but the amount go editing and post production is not worth it. Then then I did the laws behind social media things like the AITA. Again prost production and filming takes forever. Then there was the well I have 50K on tiktok so how do I make videos I can post on both. Then it became reaction with analysis but again the post production. Then I realized I was getting just as much out with less facts and proof because people rather talking head than evidence. That said I would prefer a better product explaining things and adding value to a conversation but people gravitate more toward throw rocks at hot topics like the brick give or trump so why bother. If I want to get to the 4000 hours I am getting more view time on throwing red meat and fireballs even if I don't believe it than being honest. That is what social media is which is why again I said I don't like the content I put out all the time and why so much is sitting in my editing folders because I don't want to compromise myself to say things to get views. As I said I have a real job and real like pays more. I can't let my side hobby mess with that so you are correct I am not grinding like some. What I more meant was I was taking more time to eak out views and views. I dont think I have 200 videos total including shorts and I have about 1000+Hours maybe where people do that on one video throwing red meat. For my own personal goal I want the 4000 but I am not going to let that compromise who I am or interfere with my real life. If I wanted to make it a career I could use the strategies and I have the content hot spot apps etc. I do me and hope for the best. I don't ask for money because that is not what its about but I do get you point where I could work more if I wanted to be in the space.

You can start applying when you are at 500 subs now, with 3k watch hours. At least you can get it sorted out early before the 1k sub and 4k watch hours

They do that so you can keep making videos.. They know if watch hours hold, most ppl will lay back and get lazy

TH-cam has changed their monetization plan. You can join when you hit 500 subs and I think 2k watch hours or something. You still can't play ads on your videos though but at least you can verify if adsense works for you much earlier.

I am in the same situation. It is very frustrating. I even asked other small creators. They said my views are low. It should not matter if you got the 1000 subscribers and the 4000 watch hours.
I'm not sure who those small creators are but they seem to be missing a point. If you get those 4000 watch hours, you should do whatever you can do to get into the TH-cam Partner Program.
The reason is because once you're in, you do not need to maintain 4000 watch hours in the last 12 months anymore. So, even if your last 12 months' watch hours dropped to say, 3500, but you're already in the YPP, then you will still be monetised. In other words, you do not need to worry about watch hours after you're monetised. It has got nothing to do with low views.

Try being in the music scene. There are channels with million plus subscribers (IE Rick Beato) that cannot be monetized due to the music played is 'copyright'. Even though they have the artists direct permission. Monetization is not the be-all of TH-cam and there are other ways of obtaining an income 😉
I definitely do not speak on behalf of music, that's a whole different genre and something I will not touch. But if I am in the music niche, I wouldn't be looking at monetizing on YT but rather, use YT as a platform to spread my music (assuming I am writing my own song).

I find this frustration exists with almost all Google account processes. It is opaque, and inscrutable, and counter-intuitive. Glad to see things worked out in the end though.
