(Dont wanna cause drama, just trying to inform you - btw sorry for the long explaination) I agree that Chuuya shouldn't be softened all that much but please don't say it like that, it's alright to dislike a character, but that's simply misunderstanding his character. Yes he's shown as rude, and he is at times, but that isn't his entire character trait at all. He's mainly rude because he's either being annoyed by Dazai or speaking to someone he considers an enemy. There are canon scenes in the manga/anime where he is nice as well (i.e. calling Akutagwa his boy, showing loyaty to the sheep/mori/the flags, trusting Dazai in the first place, showing worry or anger when his friends are in danger, and i'm pretty sure he helped an old lady in a wan chapter though I haven't read wan yet) again, i'm not trying to cause drama but please don't overlook characters like that
