Awesome job, I have exactly the same model and year, I’ll replace the rear brakes and rotors on my Transit 350HD tomorrow with my friend, he’s also a mechanic. The dealer charge this jobs for $1300 plus taxes, when the parts cost only $156.79 (rear set of rotors and pads)This video is very helpful, greatly appreciated. I saw you got a big cut on your upper left hand, God bless you man. Subscribed.
Don’t mean to be a know it all but you missed one final step in your process. Do you see how the caliper piston has notches on them so you can position your tool to push back the piston? Well the brake pads themselves also have raised indentations that have to line up with those notches in order for them to be properly mated with the piston. Trust me. I’m a Ford tech and had trouble trying to to get the caliper to go in properly the first time I encountered this until I realized what the problem was. Just a helpful hint.
just wish that the camera work was a little better. Moving further back so that we could see the overall work being done would’ve been better for camera position. unfocused close-ups were very hard to watch this video. hopefully we could see more of your work in the future working in the aforementioned tips. Good luck and thanks for sharing.
FYI these rotor, axle and caliper bracket bolts are "torque to yield" which means one time use. You have to replace them every time. And all need to be property torqued. Great video otherwise.
@@guineapigzed Sounds about right. The AWD Transits are worse. Dealer can't even find the right ones even using the Vin. We had to order several different bolt kits to get the right ones. Had to mix and match. Stupidest design ever.
I took mine to a dealership to get a tune up and he said the rear breaks needed done and said he had to drop the axle. Unless he meant he had to do it for something else, Im not going back...

Thanks appreciate!!
Any torque specs will be appreciated!
I already have 83ft lb for caliper anchor bolts
I have to move down south those rotors do not slip off so easy up north 😅
Thx man Im tackle the same job
Did you replace the brake hose after letting the caliper assembly hang by it without any other support such as a brake hook?
Calipers are cheap, just change the calipers. The time savings is worth it. Those things suck, they’re the worst.

Not one time use.
They are absolutely one time use. Check your resources. We do tons of these brakes. If you don't replace the bolts, your doing it wrong.
@@mobilefleet9935 of course Ford had to order them in.
An extra $46 for ten bolts.
For fuck sakes!
At most a bolt is worth $2.
Thanks Ford engineer!

Just the video I’ve been looking for.
Very helpful! Do you need to replace the fluid that comes out when removing the axle? How?
That hand scratch, you are hardcore dude!
Brake pads definitely were due. Connecticut nos esta matando con los taxes para florida vamos pronto . After the covid shot. Paz y salud
Wish you well in your endeavor
Great video brother thanks for sharing 👍👍
Did he decide to replace rotors while you're at it? They looked fine to me, esp with only 30k ish miles
As part of the repair i always recommend to resurface or replace the rotors. That minimizes any issues.
Thanks for your video. I have a 350 HD and will be doing the same soon.
same
Good job dude

Before resetting the piston, clamp flexible brake line , open breed.
No old brake fluid back into the system.
The jack stand goes under the rear axle.
How do i get a hold of your services ?
Where are you located
