Thanks to French govt for preserving such a nice medieval town. Stone roads & walls are amazing. It reminds us those olden days. Gratitude & love from India.
Broke into tears; I miss La Belle France so intensely. She's civilized...and permeated with positive lessons from history. Thank you for the beautiful tour and La Poesie of your descriptions!!! 🇫🇷
Thank you, I love Southern France, remind me of Antibe small town lovely architecture and people. France is the best in term of art and quality of living. Italy is also another lovely place to travel.
Danke für die wundervollen Videos aus Südfrankreich ich lebte in den 60 Jahren dort und war total faszniert von dem Leben, Kultur und den prachtvollen Gebäuden, die noch nicht durch Hochhäuser verunglimpft wurden. Danke
As long as you avoid the crowded summer season, it can be peaceful. Having a home inside the walls is expensive, but there are more homes in the nearby countryside, like where James Baldwin lived for many years.
Reminds me of inside the walled City of the Papal Palace in Avignon, the streets, buildings, shops, views all so alike, I stayed there and absolutely loved it, TFS this experience it took me back, so beautiful 🇦🇺
Stayed at Colombe'dor for a week. The courtyard dinners, and lazy poolside afternoons surrounded by 10 metro high Cyprus hedges and unbelievable sculptures and murals by Matisse, Leger, Miro, Picasso, Roux is something I'll treasure forever.
I stayed here a few years ago....stayed in Nice. The bus ride was €2 !!! For an hours journey with the best scenery. It’s a must, and I NEED to go back again soon ..
This is one of the most beautiful and serene places I've ever visited. It is a creative persons heaven. As an author, I would love to live there and spend all my time writing. Just walking around it ignited my creativity.
I love your videos!! They are beautiful 😍 and most importantly, very informative. Thanks for letting us know what we are looking at !!! The best travel videos!!!
Thanks so much! I do make every effort to shoot beautiful scenes in wonderful places, with full descriptions and stories, unlike most YT "travel" videos, which are only silent postcards.
I've enjoyed yur video on Sao Paolo.. Can't help seeing the big furry white gray spotted dog walking so relaxed around the village itself ... Its just touching to see N admire ancient France on this side.. Thank yu ... Much .. From Asia Japan
Omg so I just visited the village today and I saw the little white dog, and also had crepe at the little stone caves restaurant! What an awesome experience!:D
I've seen a fair number of beautiful villages in my country (I'm French), but the shops aren't not always showing such quality and good taste, it's really remarkable IMHO.
Dennis thank you for most interesting video of a most beautiful place .Your narration was so professional and felt I was walking along with you .I never got the chance to visit St Paul when in Niece but shall definitely go when travel is some way back to normal .I. send you good wishes and take care 🌈🌈🌈🌈shall look forward to other videos from you now that I have discovered your site,🇮🇪 Deirdre from Ireland
A wonderful resource to find out some more about St Paul de Vence. I really want to visit this place after seeing the way you have presented it, but even if I never get there, I have the feeling that I have already visited after watching your video.
I was there in spring 2015, by bus from Nice for a day trip, but the bus took forever, it was late. I watched the spectacular spring sunset near the edge of the wall. Some singer were make a video as she was strolling. If you are visiting this region, you must also visit the French perfume city of GRASS, also 1 hour bus ride for 2 euro. You can pay to make your own perfume in it's lab for tourists. Another city just like medieval time even today is Rhodes island, Greece, the stone road are pretty but it hurts when walking on it :) I highly recommend Rhodes if you like medieval history, it has real castle from the Knight of St John, with crystal clear beaches, forget Disney!
@@worldcitizeng6507 You might even be scared when walking in the Knights street by night ! I've done this many years ago and it was as dark as in the middle ages. ;-)
I enjoy this show very much, very good job on holding the camera steady and pan slowly, hated it when people do jerking videos..very informative and educational infos. Thanks for sharing, i will be there very soon...
Thanks Dennis! I went here a couple of years after seeing another video you posted. I went in September so it was warm but not too busy since it was the start of off season. Happy Travels!!!
Technically, it used to be part of Italy culturally, Nice was part of Piedmont until the unification. They gave it to the french in exchange for support in invading the other italian states. Now it's french though, on the fringe.
Omg... this is so beautiful... hope someday soon in the nearest future, when the COVID-19 is calming down, I would love to visit this breathtakingly beautiful place 💙
Lovely! Have to go back to Nice and explore this village and the surrounding countryside. You have inspired me. This village reminds me on the tiny medieval city of Korčula, on the island of Korčula in Croatia.
I’d just like to say to those who disliked these educational & extremely well done videos that you’re all jackass’s! What the hell more do you want from this man? He’s already filmed all of this during his trip which takes away from his own enjoyment and then he gives you an encyclopaedia of knowledge about this place which is great for both those planning on traveling there and those who can’t travel. So how about say thanks and show respect for someone who puts an awful lot of work into these videos which I’ll add are not a tiny 3 minute clip like so many others. Why even click on a video like this if you’re just going to dislike it? How about do nothing if for some ridiculous reason you don’t like it. I hate those who carelessly are negative to those who are clearly doing something for others enjoyment and education. I’ll add my positive opinion that this video as all your videos are very well done. I appreciate greatly all the information you provide that I didn’t know. Thank you.
I am thinking the same. Some beautifully crafted video without any harmful content like religious, political or unethical matters are also have dislike people. I don't understand this scenario.
@@denniscallan what's odd is that people don't realize that other actually live there. Often in the evening, I'd be awakened by people walking below and holding a conversation and speaking like they were in Disney World. Though it didn't happen often, it did happen. Still, a wonderful place. We love it so much we bought a house within a short walk of the village. I still walk up the Chez Andreas for a evening drink.
What a wonderful relic, so well preserved. One could get lost in daydreams of what it was like to live there. It is unfortunate that it has been transformed into a mall for the wealthy tourists, however.

It does look rather nice, perhaps even a bit magical. Plus I always enjoy a fortified town.
This was the most beautiful town. I visited here in 2016 during a two week stay on the Riviera. Glorious weather, fabulous food, breathtaking scenery.
Broke into tears; I miss La Belle France so intensely. She's civilized...and permeated with positive lessons from history. Thank you for the beautiful tour and La Poesie of your descriptions!!! 🇫🇷

Very nice video. I loved how you featured the precious cats and dogs. Those 3 yorkies with their matching jackets. So adorable.
My all-time favorite village in France!

The small town like this is really an ideal home for everyone who love peaceful and warmth living life like me..so beautiful and plains.

A step back in time, stunningly beautiful ❤️

It’s amazing how plants and vines grow out of stone and nothing really just cement! Amazing
I like the way you explain about this place, thank you sir
I was there in April 2015 - it’s simply beautiful !
One of the most beautiful little villages I’ve had the pleasure of visiting 🇫🇷♥️
I've went there with my family also and my grandparents and cousins came also. ( we visited alot of western Europe) but yes it is very beautiful.

The cemetery on the outskirt of St Paul De Vence where artist Chagall was buried was a lovely surprise to me!
I love France!
My new favorite village in Europe!
Once you're down here, visit some of the others like Gourdon and Èze!
Omg so I just visited the village today and I saw the little white dog, and also had crepe at the little stone caves restaurant! What an awesome experience!:D
I still think about the place some almost 15 years later. Last time I went was 2008. Long long time ago.
Thank you for bringing us such nice places!

I love the background music that is so French. Cute little town. I was expecting to see people dressed like back then in any minutes.
Music is so french from old Time. not actually. (Like « baguette » under arm and french « beret »). Sorry for my bad english (i am french).
As a French, I'm a bit tired of this accordion Americans think we listen to 24/7 . Having say that nice video of an astonishing village.
What a lovely lunch we had at Colombe d’Or

At 03:49, the windows above Frederic Got, were my apartment in 2007. Such a magical place to live.
How fortunate for you, enjoying town in the evening when the day-trippers are gone.

It's no longer Provence here. You are in pays Niçois côte d'Azur.
