I'm rewatching all the episodes as I do periodically, and I almost thought this and FX Fighter were done by the same company. They're CLOSE in name, but two different companies (Argo for this, Argonaut for FX Fighter). I notice weird things like this. XD
This game is an excellent example of the time, where everyone wanted to use pre-rendered 3D graphics in a game, and set graphics above gameplay and "bug-freeness". That included Pacman clone seems to be programed as a standalone game but was just put into the game as extra, since there were already soo many pacman clones and no one would spend money on it.
+Stephan S That's entirely possible; that the Pac-Man clone was part of some other game they never finished so they just threw the code in and made it a bonus game. :B
I have a physical copy of this somewhere; I haven't played it in years, but I remember it vividly. This video maker is mistaken about it being impossible to block projectiles, and I don't think I've ever seen the instant replay function he mentions; there may well be a version difference at work. I for one really like the alien designs, and I think the backgrounds and music of the game are phenomenal, so I can forgive it for not being the best in gameplay terms.
4:54 That's for failure to fight, not failure to win. I guess the story was too sophisticated for you to grasp. I liked some of the alien designs. More alien than most.
+Why Jay I think I was getting confused with the plot from FX Fighter where fighters losing matches in that game DID result in the destruction of their homeworlds. Heck, it even showed cinematics for it happening after every battle!
Maybe...? I know Rise of the Robots was overhyped to no end and failed to deliver, but I've never actually played it so I have no valid input on this comparison... yet... :B
Great review. This series should have way more views.

Why does the song at the end sound so familiar!?

Speaking of MS-DOS fighting games, have you reviewed any of the Fatman games starring Mondu The Fatt yet? They're some really sick and twisted games!
The only frightening thing this game is the fact that somebody deemed this worthy to be sold.for money.
haha, love that shit. awesome game
Still better than Rise of the Robots?

I don't know I still think human killing machine is the worst fighting game on computers.
